March is always a fave month for me, despite the cooler temps, because yay, birthday month!  That is always a plus and this birthday was awesome and kind of spanned over a couple of weeks, so, let's jump into March.

I kicked off the month working on a styling and hosting job for a fashion show (which I promise the video is coming, I just need to edit the footage and the plane ride to Italy will be the perfect time).  I celebrated my bestie's little guy's first birthday, and went snowboarding.

My good friend took me to Town for my birthday, I tried a new foundation (verdict: long lasting, matte & oxidizes to darker than shown in the tube; really like it) and shared my current workout playlist.

I bought some new items to transition into Spring (like that bikini top, hell-o!), my bestie took me to Soca for my birthday and I traveled to Las Vegas on my acutal birthday!  I spent the day sitting on a patio and then doing some shopping before Marco flew in to meet me and took me to dinner.

I completed a month-long plank challenge, picked the finishes for my new condo and spent a final weekend at Tremblant, snowboarding.  I picked up a new wallet, celebrated a special friend's baby shower and was treated for one final birthday dinner by another.
On Friday I decided to book a massage (the first in over a year) as I had a gift card from my birthday to use.  It was awesome.  From there I went to the mall to poke around and treated myself to a new Marc by Marc Jacobs wristlet-wallet (full size here)!

Okay, first let me start off by saying I have my eyes seriously set on this Alexander Wang stunner, but, I would really like a designer handbag so am saving towards that instead.  Now, that's not to say Marc Jacobs isn't amazing, because it is, and the only reason I 'splurged' on it was because it was super on sale (regular $165, on sale for $67!) and I had a gift card that covered the entire cost (and I loved it).

Additionally, I haven't been using my Coach wallet (which was a gift) for a year--I've been carrying my cards loose, in my purse.  Actually, until last night, my old wallet was still jammed with all the cards I've been missing whenever I'm out somewhere and they ask me for my loyalty card or whatever... so, I'm finally back to being organized... sort of.

At the beginning of the month I posted about a plank challenge that I was going to be doing and I wanted to provide a little update if you'd like to read...

Tuesday was the day--finally--to choose the finishes for my condo.  If you're new, you can read all about my condo here + and update here, however, the short of it is, I purchased a condo about two and a half years ago but still don't live there.  Since it's a brand new build, it will only be ready at the end of this year (although, it was supposed to be ready last November if we were to stick to the initial plan--but apparently this is the norm for new builds).

All that to say, I had my appointment to choose all the fun, interior stuff.  Now, although I don't do too terribly in the decor department, it's definitely not my forte.  I knew some of the basics that I wanted (ie. a white kitchen), and I have been keeping a Pinterest Decor board for inspiration, however, getting into the Design Centre to choose everything is a whole different ball game.

Today I'm finally sharing our condo tour--which I thought I had already shared on here when I uploaded it to my YouTube channel last Summer, but apparently not #badblogger.

I wanted to share it here since (1) I had promised I would after sharing the pre-move in tour, (2) because I have a few posts coming up that will relate, and (3) who doesn't love being nosy (I do!).

Finally, a few things have changed since then, like the location of the dining room table, the cat's bed, and we've added a new living room chair into the mix, along with a new tv, a mirror in my closet, and I have 'finished' the bedroom (with art work, Euro pillows, etc.).

As always, thank you for watching! xo

We woke up on Saturday morning to a massive snowstorm... at the end of March.  Le sigh.  I guess we shouldn't expect Spring any time soon!  That said, it was mild and we were headed up to Mont. Tremblant for the weekend for what might be our last chance to ski this year.

Today I'm sharing with you the purchases I made in Las Vegas.  I didn't do a ton of shopping, but couldn't not pick anything up!  When in Rome, right?

My favourites are definitely the Marshalls finds and I can't wait to rock that kimono once the weather gets a tad warmer (we are still sitting at -20C, wth!).

Hello!  Hello!  I'm back from four days in Vegas feeling rejuvenated, happy and a little tired of course with the time change (three hours) and long travel day.  I had a great time away, ate far too much and managed to pack everything into a carry-on using this guide.

I'd love to share some photos with you, if you'd like to see...

As I mentioned previously, Marco was in Vegas for work and I tagged along.  Since we couldn't get the same flight down, I arrived around 11am, settled in and changed into some warm weather clothes (what a treat!).
We spent our first night at the Luxor (tower) which is a bit of an older hotel, also known as the pyramid you might have seen in photos.  There is a tram that runs between Mandalay Bay, the Luxor and Excaliber which I took to get a bit closer to get to the hub of the strip.

I spent the afternoon shopping at Marshalls (haul video coming!) after grabbing lunch at an outdoor bar patio.

Marco got in early evening and he had made a reservation previously for my birthday for dinner, which was so thoughtful.  We went to Tender in the Luxor which was a really nice, French cuisine, restaurant.  You can see a few more photos here.

As some of you know, from my Instagram and Facebook page, I'm currently in Las Vegas!  Marco is here for work, so I tagged along, which is so nice.  It's a great, quick break from the cold, and we go home on Wednesday.

This past weekend was my birthday and there were a few celebrations that were carried out which was just awesome.  Last year was a special, bigger birthday, and Marco threw a party for me which was awesome.  This year, though, I didn't want to do anything big because I have been so lucky with all I've been able to do over the past year and of course, coming to Vegas, but a couple of my girlfriends took me out to dinner separately, which was really generous.

So, with that, onto the weekend snaps...

On Friday night, my best friend, took me out to dinner to celebrate.  We went to Soca, which is a new place in Hintonburg (my old 'hood!) that I'd heard about and been wanting to try!

Today I'm sharing with you some new pieces I picked up at Place d'Orleans that have me excited for Spring--but then again, who isn't!?--and warmer months.

I will be continuing to work with PDO this year, which I'm really excited about and we have some cool videos planned and a few other exciting surprises up our sleeves.

As always, thanks so much for watching! xo

If there is one thing that gets me to the gym it's a cute clothes... and a killer workout playlist.  I don't keep a ton of music on my phone but always keep my Soundcloud updated with my favourite tracks.

Since I prefer to lift heavy weights, I like music that's upbeat and pumps me up--often of the hip/hop and EDM variety.  So today I'm sharing what's on my current loop of songs that I play non-stop in the gym to keep me going.

I'm not one to typically feel affected by the winter months, although I'm not a fan of cold weather (and we've been having -30C for three months straight, almost), I do my best to make due, knowing Spring will eventually come.

That said, this year I've noticed...

I know I'm a little behind on this recap of February, but better late than never.  Oh February.  You've been....cold.

We kicked off the month hosting a SuperBowl party at our place which was inclusive of tons of people and man food.  It snowed a lot, I shared my Dutch fish tail braid video tutorial and we spent a weekend away in Tremblant with friends.

I shared my picks for Valentines Day gifts for her, worked out every weekend and moved my desk in my closet / office space.

I picked up a couple items from Target since they are closing in Canada, bundled up in layers to keep warm and celebrated Valentines Day with Marco.

I spent many hours at the mall prepping for a Fashion Show I was styling and hosting, shared my recent eats (those pancakes tho), and got pedicures with my bestie #overdue.  I finally scooped up some NYX Butter Glosses (Apple Strudel & Crème Brule) and shared my hair tutorial for this pulled-apart Dutch braid.

Friday night got off to a great start when my bestie and I decided to check out a consignment pop-up shop and then head for impromptu drinks and apps at Anthony's in Hintoburg...

The other night, my bestie and I were at the gym, like old times, and we decided to do something a little bit crazy for March...

Today I'm sharing a really simple and easy way to curl your hair: with tinfoil!

I know this sounds a little odd, and it is, believe me, but it works!  If you're not a pro with a curling iron or only have 15 minutes to whip up some curls, this tutorial is for you.

It's been a while since I've done one of these posts and I've been trying to snap photos of meals over the past three months or so to give you a rounded idea of what I eat.  I love seeing these types of posts from others, so here we go...

I'm not one to eat in the food court at the mall but Marco somehow twisted my arm a couple months ago and I have to say this General Tao chicken and noodles were delicious (and a bit of a guilty pleasure).

I hadn't made a tortilla soup in years so I tried this recipe which turned out great (I cheated and used a BBQ chicken from he grocery store).  I happened to have tortilla shells on hand that needed to be used up, so I cut them into strips and fried them for a more authentic taste and treat.

If there is one thing I am not, it's organized.  I try to keep it together, but it's definitely something I work at on the daily.

That said, although I'm not one to actively plan things in advance, over the past few years I've noticed ...

Hi ladies!  Today I'm sharing with you this pretty pulled apart fishtail braid.  You can leave it out or pull it back for a half-undo look.

I have been loving braids and fishtails lately and while they take a minute to get the hang of, practice makes perfect (and the look is a little undone and messy anyway!).

If you'd like to see how I created this look, click below for the video...

Saturday morning Marco and I kicked off the day by hitting the gym (before all the indulgences that come along with Valentine's Day, of course!).  Braid tutorial here.

I always whip up these two-ingredient pancakes (with a scoop of protein added; I've been using chocolate-peanut-butter because it's all I have and it's surprisingly fine) before a weekend workout or snowboarding.  I'm not someone who can workout without breakfast--or do much for that matter.  These take under 10 minutes to whip up, are filling and healthy.

 More after the jump...

I know I said despite loving to celebrate Valentine's Day I'm not a big gift exchanger, but if someone was looking for ideas, these would be at the top of my list (and maybe yours too?).

I thought I would put together a variety of things I have my eye on currently and share in case your significant other is still looking for ideas of if you just wanted some cool ideas to treat yo'self with!

I have always loved Valentine's Day--whether in a relationship or not, it's a day to spread the love to those you love.  Of course having a sweetheart makes it sweeter, but I never pass up the chance to spread a little happiness to those I love--in the form of chocolates, albeit.

When I was younger, while other kids were getting new clothes or toys for V-Day, my Mom would always gift us with a special care package of our favourite chocolates and candies (and one time this peace necklace from Ardene that I was coveting so badly).

Now that I'm older, and in a relationship, I love celebrating the day but my favourite gift to receive is...

Valentine's Day is this weekend, and whether you have a man in your life or not, I'm showing you how to re-create this cool pulled-apart Dutch braid.

I'm not sure what our plans for Saturday are, last year I spent the day at Place d'Orleans spreading the love and then Marco took me out to dinner at a restaurant we like.  This year, I would really love to stay home for a home-cooked meal; preferably not by me!  Ha!

Hope you enjoy the tutorial and leave me a comment down below letting me know what your plans are.

Hi ladies, sorry for the late recap--I've been fighting an awful cold since mid-last week and I needed to rest up in bed today in hopes that the rest of the week is better.

That said, over a month ago, Marco and I started planning a long-weekend getaway with our friends.  Similar to last Summer when we rented a cottage in Fiddler Lake, this time, a ski getaway at a beautiful cottage in Mont. Tremblant.  Since I was seriously fighting a nasty cold leading up to it, I made the best of it as I could, but forgo-ed major partying in lieu of sleep while others had way more fun #wompwomp...

The 13 of us stayed at this seven bedroom cottage just outside Tremblant village which was right on the water (and only a five minute drive to the hill).  There was a large kitchen, comfortable living room and three bathrooms which was perfect for the large group.

After reading The Five Love Languages a couple years ago, it was clear my love language was touch.  I also grew up in a very huggy family and am accustom to greeting friends and family with a big, tight hug when I see them and when we part.

However, over the past few months I've started to notice...
Hi ladies!  Sorry for the delay, I was totally under the weather yesterday, hence the late weekend recap post.  This past weekend was pretty low key (in comparison to the past couple months) but it was still busy enough but even more so productive (which was so overdue aka cleaning)...

On Friday night I spent several hours cleaning my closet/office room and re-arranged the position of the desk and a few other items (see the full room tour here).

I'm not someone who tends to change things up much once something has found it's place but I'm loving the desk against the wall; there is so much space in the middle of the room it really opens it up.  That said, it could just be the fact that I can see the top of my desk for the first time in months that has me feeling so refreshed, ha!

Also, several people (including friends) have asked me about my iPad case/pony-hair clutch which I purchased off Etsy last year when I got my tablet.  It was a bit of an investment, but it's handmade, with a leather tassel and lined.  I absolutely love it (and it comes in other prints!).

January was damn cold but we made the most of it by skiing every weekend except the last (we got a few mild days in there, by fluke and fortune).  I shared my three New Year Resolutions, we went to Tremblant overnight and I shared a uniform of sorts in an outfit post.

I made a lot of two-ingredient pancakes, rocked a fishtail braid several times and again, more snowboarding.  My condo is coming along but still won't be ready for a year, I bought a new hat with a real fur pom-pom (super on sale), and shared some of my favourite Christmas gifts (did you see the cell phone case that lights up?! The best for selfies!).

I showed my leg/butt workout routine, had a big dinner with friends (potluck style) and shared my tips on how to style grey denim.  I got some new bindings for my board (white, Burton Stiletto, which is the girl version of the Custom--if you're familiar with that kind of thing) and Marco surprised me with a Roxy hoodie (first clothing purchase he's ever bought me).

Finally, finished the month by hosting a surprise engagement party for our friends and doing a little January sale shopping at Zara.

Last weekend a few girlfriends and I threw a surprise engagement party for our friends.  From the get go, we knew we wanted it to be nautical with a blue, white and gold colour scheme.  It was something we planned for almost two months and we got a really awesome reaction from the bride and groom-to-be!

I wanted to share a few of the things we did, the decor and how it all came together, plus a few DIY's if you'd like to see.

Today I wanted to do a quick check-in on my New Years Resolutions.  We are coming to the end of our first month of 2015 and I have made some head way...

I have had this conversation with many girlfriends, and while some swear by it, others won't even consider trying it.

A few years ago I...
This past weekend was a bit of a whirlwind and it's safe to say I think I need another weekend to recover!  That said, lots of fun, (good) stress and eats so here we go...

Friday night we went skiing at Camp Fortune with some friends and met up with my blog photographer, Serena, which was fun.

Afterwards, Marco and I, completely famished, grabbed viet food around 10pm.

Hi ladies, hope you had a great weekend--we finally got some mild weather on Sunday (zero degrees Celsius!) which was such a treat.  I ate a lot of good food (possibly too much!), saw friends and went snowboarding so without further adieu...

...onto the snaps!

On Friday I met Marco at the movies and we saw American Sniper, which was so good.  I'm not a huge fan of going to the movies, at all, but he was dying to see it and I obliged him.  Afterwards we grabbed shawarma for a late night dinner.

On Saturday morning we slept in which was simply amazing and so needed.  We took our time getting up and eventually made our way to the gym after noon.  Afterwards, we decided to check out the new Sporting Life store in Ottawa which is gorgeous.  We found some new bindings for me on sale (these are the Burton Stiletto, but from two seasons ago; found exact pair on eBay) which are way better than the ones I had and prettier too.

Then we hit up the mall to poke around and grabbed an early dinner in the food court.

I had seen a beautiful toque on a girl on Christmas Eve and think I found the exact one at Sporting Life earlier that day--so gorgeous.  Of course the price tag on it is wild ($300!) so I fawned over it and left.

I ended up following Marco into Sports Experts and finding this Chaos toque made of maroon cashmere and a real fur pom, and on sale for $34!  The toque was a bit of an odd fit but I decided to purchase it and may attach the pom-pom to a nude coloured toque I already own.  So excited about this score!

If you're looking for something similar, and willing to drop a bit more cash than usual, this one is super cute.

I know Christmas seems like so long ago but wanted to share a few of my favourite gifts I received; also, a bunch of the clothing items are still available (and some on sale too!) so wanted to link those down below.

I tend to shop my closet a lot for my outfit posts and am not the best at sharing my newest items when they are still available so thought this would be a great opportunity to grab a few of the items I got if you love them as much as I do.

Thanks for watching!

Items listed after the jump...

Outfit deets:
* Zara sweater (new and now super on sale; I'm wearing a medium)
* Urban Planet layered cami (similar & love this black one)
* Zara denim (similar & love these) which you've seen with a pair of my fave shoes last Summer
* Aldo boots (old) that used to have a huge platform and I had lowered (before & after pics) (similardifferent but love these)
* Accessories: Dynamite blanket scarf (similar) & Material Girl sunnies (similar & have these on my wish list)

I love grey denim but it never tends to be my default.  I find it more touchy to style than say, your regular blue denim.  That said, other than neutrals, I'm a big fan of pairing it with pastels as I am today with this blush knit sweater and in the past with my mint leather jacket.

When pairing with light colours, since it's softer, I like to add some tougher elements like the chunky, dark scarf and the edgy wedge boots.  I find this breaks up the look and add some interest while maintaining a streamlined look.

A few other colours that would pair well with your grey denim are navy and a bright coral, like my  nail polish.
