Outfit Deets:
* Gap cardigan (old).
* Joe Fresh blouse (old) and seen before with skinny  jeans.
* Dynamite skirt which I wore two years ago with turquoise silk and the same belt.
* Kelsi Dagger 'Genelle' wedges (new!) which I just picked up at Winners for half the price they are on the KD website (score!).  Am loving heels with lower heels lately (since I have enough of 4inch+) and these fit the bill perfectly.
* Accessories: Joe Fresh belt, Guess & F21 bangles

Some of you know I wear glasses, and while my prescription isn't very strong, it's existent, just ask the people at GlassesUSA.com!  They kindly let me pick out a pair of eyeglasses which is so exciting because I've been wanting to buy glasses but didn't want to fork out the cash (I know, I know).

I picked out a pair of plastic frame prescription glasses by Reece called the Jakob.  While I normally tend toward metal frames (here's a post where I'm wearing my metal framed glasses) I have been itching for a pair of plastics and this was the perfect opportunity to find some.
The website offers a virtual mirror to try glasses on, but since I didn't have a Flash player I simply used the measurements from a pair of glasses I already owned to determine what size would fit my face.

Now, I know this is a review, and I know I got a pair of free glasses, but, I have to mention their customer service.  First know that they did not ask me to discuss this and they are all my own opinions.  I'm not one of those bloggers who is going to say wonderful things about a company I'm not happy with.  This is brutal honesty.
From day one, they were very helpful and I was impressed with how quickly my questions were answered via email.  When I finally placed my order (I himmed-and-hawed for a good three weeks on which pair to purchase) they sent me a tracking number within a day or so.  From there, my glasses arrived within four days.  Four. Days.  Shocking, especially since it seems they outsource their production to Europe and I'm in Canada.  The glasses arrived in a small box with a case and a cleaning cloth, brand spankin' new.  I can honestly say I love them.

GlassesUSA.com would like to offer you lovely readers 10% off any purchase, simply use the code Blog10

And one from Instagram the day I received my new glasses...
Outfit deets:
* Cantas tee (local boutique) that I've had for a few years
* F21 skirt that I also have in blue/black

So I picked up a Groupon for a Barre Method class pass and went for the first time on Monday night.  I am still sore.  Soo sore.

I consider myself to be in pretty good shape; I try to get to the gym several times a week, I run frequently and can run a mile or more without stopping, I always take the stairs, I will park far away to get in more steps and sometimes go for power walks on my lunch hour.  I'm by no means the fittest, leanest girl, but I do like to try and be healthy.  I figured the Barre class would be tough, but was looking forward to it. Let me just start by saying, this class is no walk in the park.

Using your own body resistance, small hand weights, a ballet bar, a resistance band and a small ball is all you need for this kick-ass, one hour class.  It's a combination of small, controlled movements that don't ever seem to end.  When you're tired and ready to give up, the instructor pushes you to keep going for quite a bit longer and there are often no rest periods in between movements.  It's killer, but such a good work out.  By the end of it, I was sweating buckets (highly attractive) and my legs were shaking so bad (anyone familiar with the knee-cap shakes?) I thought they were going to give out on me.

My ribs feel bruised.  I can barely walk down the stairs.  I'm hurting, but it's a good hurt!!  I highly encourage anyone to give one of these classes a try if you like to push yourself and try something new.  The class targets your core, thighs and butt, and hell-o, who doesn't want to target those areas?

This is a (spray) tan tat.  The most permanent thing to a tattoo that I likely will ever have.  Tattoos kind of scare me, for me.  I enjoy them on others but would you believe I actually have nightmares about getting a tattoo and being so remorseful I turn to hysterics?  Weird.

I'm stuck at home today, sick with an upset stomach so I figured I'd share with you all my outfits from yesterday's Valentines' Day.  I love pink and red together and V-Day is the perfect excuse to rock it without getting those, 'You look like you're dressed for Valentines' Day' comments (got that one a few weeks ago).

For work I wore my coloured denim Zara pants that I've had for 3+ years (despite coloured denim becoming a big trend now), a flowy top and comfy leopard (although you can't see them) wedges.  For an evening out, I pulled together something ultra girly and snug fitting in thematic colours.

Do you celebrate Valentines' Day?  Do you wear red or pink?  Do you have a favourite V-Day memory?  I'd love to hear.

Another episode of 'This or That'!  You guys killed it in the comments section of my first post like this so I'm making this a reoccuring post.  I love hearing your opinions (some were good, some were like, 'I don't like that skirt - sorry,' and that's totally cool!  We can't all like everything everyone wears, the thing that matters is that the wearer loves it and feels good).

Oh, and someone asked me if I wore the last TOT outfit to work, and the answer is yes.  Almost all my outfits on my blog are worn to work and I love getting creative with them.

This week, I decided to go with the all-black look, monochromatic (something I've been know to do before...) to keep things seamless.  However, the punch of a colour is sometimes nice in an otherwise colour-less outfit.  Which shoes do you prefer?

Monday is back again.  The weekend was good though, so let's hold onto those memories.  My weekend involved take-out times two, moving relatives, an attempted movie, an open house & time spent with my favourite people.  Oh, and and I washed my bedding.  Mmmm clean bed sheets, don't you just love that?

A high light of my weekend goes something like this:  I thought, for a few weeks now, that I had lost my (only) pair of designer sunglasses I've ever owned.  I've had them for less than a year, and wear them every. single. day.  Love them.  I'm not really one who owns much designer stuff either, so this is kind of a huge deal, you guys (after I discovered them missing, I bought the Dollarama sunglasses on my face you see above.  See?  Not owning a lot of designer stuff over here).

An-y-wayz.

I have been pretty upset since that fateful day I opened their beautiful case to find them not there.  I was so diligent too, always using the case, always keeping track of them, how could I let this happen?!  I searched high and low, but kept it on the DL because I'm ashamed.  How could I lose something so small yet so expensive?

So Friday night I'm at my parent's place in their garage, and only by fluke was I on the phone and didn't go inside just yet, when I looked up to see my Gucci shades sitting on the a shelf!  What!?  All this time!?  It was like the angels came down from the heavens and sang to me.  Okay.  Not quite, but I was pretty damn excited.  And relieved.  And I can tell you all this now because they have been found.  When I went inside my parent's were all nonchalant like, 'Oh ya, we forgot to tell you they were left here a while back...' but then again, my mom has no idea what Gucci is.

What's with me and grey lately?

As I sit here and type this I feel happy.  My life is (somewhat) in order, my laundry is done, my belly is full, my place is (somewhat) tidy and I feel good.  Things are falling into place and it feels good.

I had a Skype date with my BBFF the other night.  Always good to catch up with that girl, and although thousands of miles apart, it's almost as if it isn't... almost.

And in other exciting news, I got a new laptop.  Yay!  My old one konked out on me after over six years and I have finally entered the twenty-first century.  It's nice to have some speed and have something that doesn't take 12 minutes to shut down.  It's also super pretty too.

Finally, can you believe Christmas is less than two months away?  Love it!  The stores are putting out their holiday products, seasonal music is streaming through the speakers, and there is no sign of any (icky) snow yet.  It's like a dream.  I've even already started my shopping, slowly but surely.  When will you start?

The weekend is here!  After a long week at the office, which included moving offices, I'm completely exhausted and in need of a good sleep in.  Can't wait to do so tomorrow morning and enjoy the fall weather coming our way this weekend.  What do you have planned?

Late night sounds:
* wind
* sirens
* rumble of cars on the street below
* low music
* my neighbour getting home
* my mind telling me to turn off the computer and go to sleep...

What kind of music do you like?  I'm a huge fan of hip-hop, rap, dance/techno, r&b and urban pop (in that order).  I was recently turned onto The Dream's (aka Terius Nash) new album (listen here; my fave is, 'Long Gone').  It. Is. So. Good.  Apparently it's somewhat dedicated to his ex-wife (that he cheated on) Christina Milian.  Have a listen, you will understand.

I often have a habit of killing tracks.  If I like a song, I will literally kill-the-track (aka play it over, and over, and over again until I can't stand it).  For instance, I have listened to the above track, oh, about fourteen times within the last two days.  Um.  Ya.

Here are a few other tracks I'm 'killing' at the moment:

* Black Eyed Peas - Someday
* Pitbull feat. Sean Paul - Shake Senora
* Kelly Rowland feat. Big Sean - Lay It On Me
* The Weeknd feat. Drake - The Zone
* Gums - Don't Give Up
* Remady - No Superstar

Ever wear your clothes backwards?  I do.  Prime example right here.  This top is totally on backwards.  It has a kind of criss-cross strap-thing going on in the front and with the blazer, it was just too much coverage so I flipped it around and voila.

The weekend is getting close, so close I can almost taste it.  I'm heading out of town for the weekend and couldn't be more excited.  It's so nice to get away and relax, especially in good company.  I've been trying to eat super healthy this week and have even changed up my diet a bit to see if it would make a difference (and so I can super indulge this weekend - ha!).  Normally I eat a 12-grain bagel with peanut butter for breakfast everyday.  This week I've been making a brocoli, tomato & cheese egg-white omlette every morning instead (at work, none the less - special thanks to the person who taught me this).  It's delicious and fills me (and I stay full longer, I think).   I've been eating tons of fruit and veggies (but that's pretty normal for me) and have added chicken to my daily salad I make for myself.  My dinners have been good too (except a little indulgence the other night) with lots of protein (I sound like a health nut - that's kind of annoying because trust you me, I love me so treats).  Sometimes a little tweaking is good... but then again, next week I might be back to my old ways.

Sidenote:  I may or may not have eaten peanut butter straight from the jar a few times (I'm going through withdrawls!).

I've skipped a few months and haven't been on the ball with the resolutions... maybe I should have had my New Year Resolutions include writing resolutions every month. Oh well. Regardless, August is off to a great start and I'd like to keep the momentum going. Here are my top resolutions for the last full month of summer:

1. Spend time lake-side (at a cottage).

2. Use Instagram more often.

3. Get back into thrifting (it's been soo long).

4. Save more money (does this mean I should cross off number three?).

5.  Wear the clothes I've purchased that still have tags on them.

6.  Run 1km without stopping. Complete!

7.  Wear sunscreen on the tops of my hands everyday.

Did you notice the shoe switch?

Also, I bought these navy Ardene flats and within wearing them twice, sadly, the sole started coming away from the shoe.  I haven't had the chance to try and return them yet and was thinking I might try and superglue them.  I love the colour and they are super comf, plus, for $14, if superglue works, it could be worth it.  Have you ever superglued your shoe soles?

Lately I find myself much more drawn to my flats than my heels.  It could be the warmer weather (flats are less fussy) or just the fact that I'm prefering comfort over... well... uncomfort?  Yes, I admit it, as much as I love heels, they aren't always comfy.
So two weeks ago I went to a (beautiful) wedding ceremony and reception.  The service was beautiful, outdoors (it was a hot and sunny day) and in a gazebo and the bride was stunning.  The reception was at a super upscale hotel in their outdoor pavilion, and so chic.  Everything from the dress to the cake was perfect that day and I think I speak for everyone when I say it was an amazing day and night.  However, due to the fact that it was an outdoor-ish reception, the mosquitos were a tad prickly.  The next day I had nine bites on one foot and six on the other.  Nine on one foot.  Can you believe that?  I must be pumpin' some pretty awesome blood... it's either that or the fair skin - they see right through me.
 Anne Michelle heels (last seen here), swapped out for my flats during my lunch hour... and the rest of the day.

Okay, it's been two weeks since I blogged (unless you count the Covet post I threw up last night).  You're probably wondering where I've been (or maybe you could care less - ha)?  Well, I've been going through some life changes and I'm not quite ready to talk about it yet, but I'm around and alive.  I'm under construction, so to speak. I miss you all terribly and haven't had a stable access to Internet for a while, which definitely affects my blogging.  However, that has changed and I'm getting back into the swing of things.  I have some exciting news coming up and a give-away too!  Stay tuned my lovely readers, I haven't forgotten you, so don't leave me now.

Go girl.

Go boy.
