These are certainly my go-to shoes - are you getting sick of seeing them?  I can't help it, I love 'em.  When I want to wear heels, but want to be comfy, I can count on these.  When my pants aren't quite long enough for my average heeled shoes (higher than these), I head straight for these ones.  When I'm in doubt, I pull these out.  What can I say?  I'm a sucker for my leopard-printed peep-toe wedges, they are just so great (and comfy!).  I've had them for about two years and I'm just kicking myself for not buying two pairs... but I couldn't have even if I had wanted to - there was only one size 10 left and I swiped them up immediately.  So glad I did!

PS - A very special thank you to all you amazing blog friends for your super
sweet comments on my wedding post yesterday - you made my day!

Do you ever have days where you just don't want to get all dolled up? Just days where you think, 'I just wanna dress comfy today?' - I have those days, and they often resort in me wearing flats.  This was one of those days, however, I have to be presentable for work, and this is what I came up with. That's not to say I can't wear flats at work; I can, and I certainly do, but just not this day.  I was really itching to wear this new top I bought in MTL during my Bachelorette Weekend - it's a crisp cotton, double layered, and oh-so a-line. Perfect for those bloaty-lazy-I-don't-wanna-dress-up-but-have-to kind of days.

I bought this skirt a couple of months ago and it was super on sale.  I was so ecstatic about this find because I was searching for a lace skirt, and we all know how much I love tiers.  I've been saving it for the perfect day and this outfit sprang to mind as I rushed around getting ready for work.  In past years, I've been reluctant to wear black in the summertime, but this year I seem to be singing a different tune... and I quite like it.

My heart skips a beat for these nude booties.... Jeffrey Campbell, you did it again.

We are officially less than three weeks away till the wedding.  I have had three dress fittings and the dress is just about done (she was basically just waiting for my shoes to come in, to do the hem).  I am so in love with this dress and I wish I could show you guys some pictures from my fittings, but they are top secret until the big day.  I will certainly share with you after!

...And you thought I was going to talk about diamonds.  Had a little outting with Peanut the other day.  She's such a curious thing, you can not take her off the leash - unless you never want to see her again!  She would take off immediately, especially if she hears kids (she loves kids).

We all know that these are my non-wedding shoes now, so, that gives me free reine to wear them whenever I want.  Someone suggested I return them, but that's not gonna happen, I love them too much.  Someone else commented also saying (more like screeching), 'Howwww on earrrrrth do you waaalk in those shooooes?!'  I told them practice makes perfect.  Eat it.

One more thing, I've been wanting to shoot by this building for some time, it's super close to the graffiti wall, but everytime I went by, there were tons of people around, making it quite awkward to bust out a photo shoot.  This day wasn't much different but I said, 'F-it' and shot away.  Who cares!

When I saw this skirt during my thrifting excursion the night before Canada Day, I knew I had to have it.  I zipped into the change room and zipped it up and it fit perfectly.  I was ecstatic.  Not only that, I just happened to go the day everything in the store was 50% off!  I walked away with several items, including this fab, vintage lace skirt for $5.

I wore this out to dinner for my Aunt's birthday on Saturday night.  Almost immediately after capturing these shots, my necklace broke.  Not impressed.  I'm hoping I can fix it with some super glue but I guess we'll see.  The kicker though, is that it's one of my more expensive (costume) jewellery pieces.  I certainly scored it at a deeply discounted price, but initially, it was pricey!  It always amazes me when my more costly items break and the cheapie stuff outlasts it.  Something is wrong with that picture.

Lastly, this top is another one of my creations, made without a pattern and I have to say, it's probably my most favourite article of clothing I've ever made (not that there are tons, but a few which you can see here, here, here, here, here & here).  I've worn it twice within two weeks (which is kind of a record for me - I really try to spread things out), like this, and once to the office tucked into a pencil skirt.  The cut is perfect for me (boatneck, cap-sleeve, long in the body, slightly a-line & low back), in my opinion, and it's comfortable.  When I saw the fabric, I had to have it.  I initially planned to make more of a tank style, but then grew ambitious and this end result was more than I hoped for.

On my way home, I was looking for somewhere different to take some photos and decided the entry way to a golf course would be great.  Wrong.  Since it was 'prime time', most staff were leaving (either that, or there were a lot of golfers in today's dreary-rain) and people would literally come to an almost-complete-stop and stare at me.  Awkward much?  I even had three people stop to see what I was doing and two to tell me it was private property - okay thennn.  So I took my camera and bolted.  I won't be going back there again.

On a side-note, I bought this jacket last week from the thrift store in my quest for a DIY.  Once I got the jacket home and washed it, I realized I loved it too much to 'trash' it with my planned DIY.  So, I've decided I will use a different jacket from my closet.  So stay tuned.

I know, I know, but they need to be broken in, sadly.
Thankfully I'm breaking them in too because they are killing my feet

{ there is a hook & eye for this top, as you can see, but I prefer it left open }
