I know I've talked about the world of blogging before but wanted to touch on it again.  I know for others who don't blog, it might seem a little superficial, strange and self-absorbed.  I beg to differ, but can see how it can come across as such.  To me, blogging is a creative outlet to share with anyone who cares to read it, but also for myself - almost a personal, electronic diary (that the world can read, so, it can't be too personal).  Since starting my blog almost a year and a half ago, I've met so many fantastic girls within the community, won many amazing things (including make-up, jewelery, clothes & shoes), had a blogger friend send me gifts, been sponsored to host give-aways, surprised myself with some of my DIY's, and had many people in real life and online tell me I've inspired them, helped them or simply that they love coming to read my blog (and that is the most rewarding).

Before blogging I never knew such a 'place' existed where I could throw all my mumbo-jumbo thoughts and photos in one place.  I would always, 'Capture the moments of our lives' (cheesy, totally, and meant to be) with photographs and then pollute Facebook with said photos.  Sometimes it was a bit much (some people will say blogging is a bit much, but to each their own) and it never felt quite right showcasing a slew of wardrobe picks on my part.  I longed to have some place I could combine all that but didn't know how or where.  Then I discovered blogs through a friend and another convinced me to start one and the rest, well, the rest is history... or, a year and a half of history.

Do you blog?  If no, have you ever thought about starting a blog?  What would you blog about?  I'd love to hear.

Just a few photos of my 'Life Before Blogging'...

And this one which isn't available in a zippyshare just yet...

* yes, that's me as a child; check that hat & seal sweater.

Not your standard 'covet' post from me, true, but after laying eyes on these kicks, I couldn't stop drooling.  While I'm more of a fresh white fan (when not in heels, that is) these Nike Air Yeezy (designed by Kanye West) are killing it.  Sadly, they are sold out ... but you can still get them on eBay for a pretty penny.

I snapped these photos super quick the other day on my way home from work.  It was one of those days where I was completely exhausted and needed to get some zzz's asap.  I got home, dumped the work clothes, pulled on some sweat pants and crawled into bed.  I was out like a light at 5pm until the next morning (okay fine, I did wake up twice but just stayed in  bed and went back to sleep).  Sometimes those are just needed (and to Stephanie, I did relish the moment).  The next day I felt super rested and back to my old self.

Hello Monday!  Did everyone have a nice weekend?  Mine was busy, as I knew it would be but went fairly slowly (surprise, surprise).  I snapped a few photos with my iPhone over the weekend to share with you all.

My good work friend having a baby.   Her friend threw her a baby shower.  She invited me.  I went.  So did many other women.  She's having a girl.  We played games.  We ate a lot of (yummy) food.  She opened many gifts.  And we all celebrated.  Congrats Lala!

* PS - What I wore

I'm in the market for a new pair of glasses.  Currently I have these but found the above last week and can't stop thinking about them.  I snapped a quick pic so you could all weigh in.  I've never had plastic frames before because they're hard to find to fit my face.  So, ladies, help a sistah out: are these glasses the ones?

What do you have planned for the weekend?  Tonight I am getting together with seven other girls for dinner downtown at a hot spot.  Tomorrow, I plan to sleep in and get some laundry done (those baskets are overflowing) and then heading to a birthday party in the evening.  Sunday, of course, is Mothers' Day and my sister and I are hosting a brunch at her place for our mom.  Jam packed, just the way I like it.  Have a great weekend!

Here are some fun links from around the web:

* These booties are calling my name... except they are no longer available in my size.

So I know I mentioned at some point before that I was going to consign some of my clothes.  I've never really done much of this before, I always just donate my clothes to the GoodWill or Salvation Army (of course I let my girlfriends go through the stuff beforehand if they want), but this time I thought I'd try my hand at it.  There is a chic consignment store I like in an 'up-and-coming' (or perhaps 'already up') neighbourhood that takes items that would actually be in my closet (aka non-designer) but still have slightly higher standards than your average consignment shop.  I dropped off close to 40 items in March and knew they'd be on the floor, for sale, for two months.  I called the other day to see what my account balance was at and... I made $140!  What a score!  I was ecstatic.  I went to the store, checked out their inventory and eventually cashed out.  I'm a true consignment believer now and plan to always do this.  Have you ever consigned anything?  Are you strictly a donater?  I'd love to hear.
