Outfit deets:
* Imaginary Voyage peplum top which you've seen with a green pencil skirt.
* Rewash dotted denim which I purchased the first time I went to Vegas.
* Liliana wedges which you've seen with a black and white dress and also on vacation in Punta Cana back in April.
* Accessories: Emily Elizabeth necklace, Material Girl cuff & G21 sunnies.
This peplum top has been in my closet since last summer, it wasn't expensive (under $30) and I wore it a few times but this summer it has been getting a ton of play. I find myself reaching for it with skirts, denim and other pants, so much so that I have to stop myself from wearing it weekly. Does that ever happen to you? You develop a deep love for something you've had for a while?
Also, while I've been somewhat obsessed with neutrals lately, I could not deny how stellar these shoes looked with these jeans. They popped in colour against the tone of this denim that I set aside my nude pumps and just went for it with the neon. Then again, only a handful of more weeks to really rock sandals and bright neons before the snow flies so might as well take advantage.

Outfit deets:
* Garage kimono cardigan which you saw in the my last outfit post (with a leather skirt) because clearly I have no other clothes to wear.
* H&M tank with a low back which I wore to Taco Fest.
* Paige white denim which have quickly become my favourite pair of pants and I'm convinced this is the brand I should buy from now on... except the price point.
* Accessories: Le Chateau cuff & 'Hope' necklace by Emily Elizabeth jewellery.
When I first bought this kimono-like cardigan in beige, I was a little uncertain about it being so... house-coat-ish? Despite loving the look on other girls, it felt weird at first wearing this out of the house, despite the sweater-like material. However, like most trends when you try them there is often an awkward, 'Can I really pull this off?' phase that will usually pass once you arrive at your destination.
This was no different, and even when I purchased the black, got it home and realized it was about 6 inches longer than the beige colour, despite it being the same size, I again felt a little odd rocking it for the first time. And then again, after the first wear it almost becomes old hat and voila! you've made a trend your friend and can rock it with confidence.
Ever feel slightly out of place in your new duds at first?

Outfit deets:
* Maison Scotch jacket which you've seen on the weekend when I went to Kingston with Marco a year ago.
* BCBG tank that I purchased in Vegas and also seen here in an all white look.
* Zara denim which you've seen when I went to Taco Fest.
* Iro Manela wedges which you've seen with a little black dress.
* Accessories: Auslini bangle, Pier 1 Imports ring & Suzy Shier necklace.
I am loving grey denim this summer and of course even more so when it's distressed. While I love the look paired with black, I wanted to summer-ize this outfit, if you will, so I paired it with a white top and light mint coloured leather jacket. The perfect ensemble for a day of shopping or a casual date night with your man.

Outfit deets:
* Dynamite jacket which you've seen with a sweater dress & booties, with waxed denim (an older favourite outfit post), and with leggings and a tight top years ago.
* American Eagle top (remember this in my, 'What to Wear on a Date' post?) with Urban Planet cami underneath which I wore on my birthday (here in black).
* Parasuco denim which you've seen with a purple flawy top.
* Liliana wedges which you've seen with a white dress, with a printed sundress, during a night out with girlfriends, with a 'Nurse' dress & with a pencil skirt and a peplum top last summer.
* Accessories: Swarovski & Old Navy bangles, H&M rings with gifted chain bracelet.
I'm not sure what has been going on with me lately, but I have been facing a serious creative block. I've been unmotivated to blog, film or edit videos and just be in this space. This is something I genuinely enjoy--if I didn't, why bother continuing--but lately I feel so... blah.
A fellow creative-type friend and I were chatting about the slump and offered some wise words:
"You will find slumps in creativity extremely dreadful. You want to create and when you don't, it makes you feel terrible. It's a cycle, but the slump will pass. In the meantime, do what you are currently doing and that is to push through. It sucks for now, and you might feel antsy, but then all of a sudden, BOOM! The damn breaks and your back in the swing of things."
Here's hoping my upcoming vacation is just what I need to break the damn, so to speak. Happy Thursday.

Outfit deets:
* H&M low-back tank.
* Zara denim.
* Iro wedges.
* Accessories: Le Chateau cuff & Aldo clutch / cross-body.
We went to Taco Fest in Ottawa on Saturday night which was a great time. It was held at the huge--newly reno'ed--convention centre downtown. We arrived shortly after 6:30pm, grabbed some Coronas and headed into the ballroom where the vendors were set up. There was a live DJ and tons of booths, all serving up various forms of tacos, sliders, and amazing tilt-your-head-and-bite kind of food.
Since I wanted to be comfortable, but take advantage of being out on the weekend, I wore something that felt very me. The ripped jeans are new from Zara and although you can't see the low-back detail on this tank, it's kind of a reverse sexy top, exposing whatever pretty thing you choose to wear underneath (and sometimes I wear this to the gym to show off the back of my sports bra). We snapped these photos as we were leaving--sorry for the lack of detail shots but we were running late.
Since today is a holiday in Canada, I'll be back tomorrow with a full weekend recap. Hope you had a great weekend!
Outfit deets:
* Ashley B faux leather jacket which you've seen multiple times with an all-grey ensemble, when I went to Montreal with my guy, and with my other favourite jeans of the moment (in a more casual look).
* Dynamite t-shirt.
* Chiqle denim which you've seen before I cut the bottoms off.
* Forever 21 heels from last summer which you've seen with a dress last fall.
* Accessories: Deux Lux bag (similar), Suzy Shier necklace, Call it Spring + H&M rings, Gucci shades, Swarovski & Forever 21 bangles.
Raw hem denim is having a serious affair with my heart. These are the second pair of jeans I've chopped at the ankles and I'm loving the look. It's a little edgy, a little chic and you can do it yourself within a minute. It's a quick way to push your personal fashion box and be slightly ahead of the curve (since this trend hasn't fully caught on yet).

Outfit deets:
* Lord & Taylor coat (from The Bay) which you've seen in my recent Spring Trends haul.
* Dynamite top.
* H&M denim.
* Zara heels.
* Accessories: Kate Spade necklace (birthday gift), Expressions ring, Swarovski bangle, Gorjana bangle, Gucci shades & vintage clutch.
The minute I saw this jacket I had to have it. It was a bit of a splurge, but I'm loving the palm print and it's such a pretty and well made piece. I know I'll wear this a ton to and from work and when I get dressed up on weekends. It's such a chic twist on a classic silhouette.

Outfit deets:
* Aeropostale top (new!).
* Aeropostale bralette (new!).
* Bongo denim (old) and ripped myself (I saw similar pairs at Urban Planet & Zara in the past week).
* Converse.
I'm not sure what's up this week but I'm feeling a little blocked, creatively. Not sure if it's the pressure of trying to finish up the second bedroom before my guy's parents come this weekend, the weather--it's been rainy and cold all week--or just general tiredness kicking in.
Here are a couple highlights of my week so far, though: meeting up with my bestie for a little shopping & food court dinner one night, unpacking and organizing the second bedroom with a friend and some wine (after some thai chicken lettuce wraps) and passing the last few hours in the day watching multiple Suits episodes with my guy.
Hope you're all having a great week thus far. See you tomorrow.
Outfit deets:
* Garage sweater shrug (new!).
* Dynamite top.
* Aeropostale lace bralette (new!).
* Chiqle denim from Detox.
* Zara sandals.
I spent several hours filming my next video last night, so here's a little sneak peek of a couple of the pieces I will be sharing. I love these jeans, the moto-detail on the knees is awesome and they fit like a glove. If you're more boy-shaped like me, these are a dream and were well priced at $45.
In other news, this week is dragging a bit but luckily it's a short week. I've spent far too many hours being completely absorbed in Suits--have you guys watched it? My guy watched all three seasons and is re-watching with me, it's that good. You know what else is good? Easter chocolate while watching said tv show.
Happy Thursday!
Outfit deets:
* La Classe Couture faux leather jacket, my black go-to, which you've seen with a navy dress & a long time ago when I used to belt everything.
* H&M tee seen on the weekend.
* Seduction denim (old).
* Sneakers: Material Girl (last summer) | Heels: Aldo (new!).
* Accessories: Club Monaco scarf, Aldo clutch, Phillip Lim for Target carryall, Suzy Shier necklace (new!) & Gucci shades.
I'm bringing you two looks today--one casual and one dressed up, using the same base of a leather jacket, denim & a tee.
The first look is one I would wear in the evening to grab Pho with my guy or on weekends while running errands. While I love heels, I've always held a soft spot for skate shoes and these have a chic twist.
The second look is more dressed up, I ditched the scarf in lieu of a statement necklace, threw on heels and added a clutch; definitely something I would wear out for date night or to meet up with girlfriends.
More photos after the jump...
Outfit deets:
* Vero Moda blazer which I purchased on Boxing Day and you've seen with a pretty floral dress.
* Jules & James fox top which you've seen with hot pink shorts in the summertime.
* Jacob jeans (thrifted) which I don't wear often because they stretch out quickly but I love the knee and back details on.
* Aldo Baulch heels which you've seen with red leather pants. Considering I was torn on spending the $40 bucks on these and wear them at least twice a week, I'd say I've easily gotten my money's worth.
* Accessories: Limité necklace, Bijoux Terner cuff & vintage (via garage sale) clutch.
I picked up this cute fox top almost two years ago at Zellers and it's been a favourite in these summer and winter time. It has spaghetti straps but the neckline is pleated and the fabric is a thicker, matte satin finish--all around goodness. It feels good and looks good considering it was such an inexpensive find. On top of all that, the print is cheeky and unexpected and always makes people giggle--I like that.
One of my favourite tips to share with friends when rolling your jeans is to keep it messy, 'Like you didn't try, but you actually did'. It looks effortless despite the few minutes it took to get those messed up cuffs juuust right.
