Outfit deets:
* Forever 21 tank.
* Almost Famous denim shorts.
* Call It Spring sandals (super old, my total favourites & worn to death).
* Ardene fedora & heart-shaped sunnies.

One last outfit from our vacation to Punta Cana last month--I almost forgot I had these photos.  I would have shared more however my bathing suit made an awkward wet mark mid-chest and kind of ruined the photoshoot #vacationproblems.

What are your plans for the weekend?  I have a busy one lined up: tonight I'm hitting the gym with a friend, then some shopping.  Saturday will be spent likely practicing some tennis--I managed to get a 3-hit rally going last night for the first time ever!--and then celebrating my Mom's birthday.  On Sunday I will be spending the day celebrating my good friend's upcoming nuptials at her bridal shower.  Hope you have a great one and happy Memorial Day long weekend to my US readers and friends.

Outfit deets:
* Garage denim jacket--new this summer--which I'm obsessed with; love the light, acid-like wash.  I think this is the first time it's been photographed officially despite wearing it countless times on the weekends.
* Forever 21 romper, which belonged to my bestie but she wore it once and generously let me have it--after I pawed at it--and you might remember seeing this during my trip to Vegas with said best friend.
* Spring gladiator sandals (old); my favourite gladiators that so badly need to be re-soled.
* Accessories:  MK watch, F21 leather wrap bracelet, Gucci shades, Suzy Shier ring & Aldo bangle.

I love the fact that it's a short week, we are just that much closer to the weekend!

Last night I worked, after work, on my Place d'Orleans post that will hopefully be going up this week.  I'm tying in a DIY with a cool Fall trend and am really proud of the end result.  I don't want to spoil the surprise, so I won't say anymore, but look out for that.

I also purchased some Zara shoes recently and they just arrived.  I took a little 36-second video of them as I'm really  not sure if I want to keep them or not; I was so excited until I put them on my feet.  Likely a tell tale sign they should go back but I'm still on the fence.  Here's a closer look at the shoes.  Care to weigh in?

Outfit deets:
* Jacob sweater (thrifted).

* Accessories:  J.Crew bubble necklace (got a couple more).

Thank you to all who voted yesterday.  Today is the last day to vote so please, please take eight seconds and vote for me to become my mall's fashion vlogger for the next six months.  Every little vote counts, so thank you!

So, a 'brief' Xtreme Waterparks update:

We got to Calypso around 8am (with our Starbucks & SPF) and met with our contact point, Rachel.  From there we went into the park, filled out our waivers and headed to the first slide in our swimsuits.  The park was still closed at this point so we had the entire place to ourselves with people catering to the camera crew and us (so sweet).

We started on a group ride where the four of us sat in a large tube in a circle and went down a super steep slide and into kind of a half-pipe wall and down (a boomerang-like style).  It was a little scary but really exciting.  We did it five more times including having a camera man come down with us twice.

From there we moved on to the scariest slide in the park: AquaLoops.  This was the slide I was the most scared for and I was literally shaking.  I didn't think I was going to be able to do this floor-falling-out-from-under-you-and-dropping-50-feet... but after lots of encouraging words from my friends and the film crew, I actually did it.  Twice!  Talk about terrifying, exhilarating and something to be proud of!  We did this slide twice; the first time was normal and the second time we each took our turns holding small Go-Pro hand-held cameras to capture our faces during the ride down.  Check out the demo video of this slide.  Cray.

We took a short lunch break and refueled.  From there, it was onto a fast-four-person-tube slide with a steep 90 foot drop.  Pretty freaky the first time, especially when our friend in front flew up about four feet in the air (yes, the camera caught it!).  We did this ride five or six times and it was the tallest tower of the park.  We climbed a lot of stairs.

Afterwards we climbed the same high tower to ride a two-person tube slide that had an even steeper drop; while sitting in the front I seriously thought I was going to somersault forward at times.  Freaky!  We did this one six or seven times until we got every angle on camera possible.

In between doing slides the camera crew would interview us individually, ask for high enthusiasm but to also be real.  They would film us running up the stairs to the slides from behind, then get us to stop and film us from up the stairs while we came towards them. They filmed us getting on rides, excitedly talking before getting on, getting off the rides, high-fiving and expressing how we felt after the slides.  It was so much fun!

By the end of the day, a whopping nine hours had been spent climbing over 150 flights of stairs (not kidding), riding some of the scariest slides, by-passing all the people in line (and pissing some of them off until we'd say, 'We're filming a TV show!'), and having the times of our lives.  We have been told that our episode likely won't air for a year or two but until then, you can check out the Travel Channel on YouTube to see other previews of Xtreme Waterparks.

Outfit deets:
* H&M top.
* Wet Seat crochet shorts which I've posted on Instagram for a night out outfit.
* Vince Camuto 'Kastern' sandals (new-ish!) that I've worn with a peach tiered skirt.
* Accessories: MK watch, F21 wrap bracelet & Gucci sunnies (looking at these pictures I'm thinking, 'Where is my necklace?!').

Happy Friday!  So glad the weekend is here.  I have a super busy weekend lined up and I am actually off work today (hoorah!).  Initially we were going to Mt. Tremblant for my sister's bachelorette this weekend, hence why I took today off, but the plan has changed and we are staying local (but it's going to be a wicked time).

Today I have a bunch of boring stuff to do, errands, cleaning and running around, but tonight that all changes which I'm excited for.  Tomorrow is the bachelorette and Sunday is a Baby Shower for one of my closest friends.  Busy right?  Thank goodness for day's like today to get it all organized.

Have a great weekend!

Let's talk about dating.

Dating can be fun.  Dating can be exciting.  Dating can be complicated, exhilarating and nerve-wracking.  Dating can be down-right disastrous.

I think we have all had our fair share of good, bad and ugly dating experiences.  My question is though, when you see red flags, when do you throw in the towel?  How bad does it have to get before you say goodbye?

I think it's important to set standards for yourself, of what you will and will not accept when it comes to choosing a romantic partner.  I think those standards can get a little foggy when you are wow'ed by other things that seem so great, and at the same time compromise is also important.  They always say hindsight is 20/20 so often looking back upon an experience you can say, 'Yes, there were many red flags that I chose to ignore'.

Be brave if you comment, what is the longest relationship you've had with someone that you knew was not a good fit for you?

Outfit deets:
* Plenty trapeze top which I wear frequently.  Last seen here with a red skirt and leather jacket (and one of my favourite outfit posts of all time).
* Stitches skirt which is stretchy and amazing and can be tugged down lower to make it longer for work or hiked up high for weekends or evenings out (and always fits you even when you're having a fat day).  I have this skirt in black, grey, red, blue... and wear them often.
* Anne Michelle heels, another favourite and seen here with grey, pink & ruffles (their first outfit post), with a pretty floral dress and a favourite with polka dots.
* Garage tank, Auslini bangle, Dollarama ring & Suzy necklace.

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions on how to make the Internet run quicker and smoother for me.  Big help!  I still seem to be unable to upload to Flickr at home, but am going to purchase more storage space for photos because as you all mentioned, it's cheap (it is! $5 for 20GB) so again, thank you.

Hope you all had a great weekend; I went running for the first time since returning from Florida, visited with family, checked out the local Farmers Market, visited cottage country and ate far too many Peeps on Easter Monday.  I have a weekend recap coming up for you, as well as my recap of Florida and an what I wore for Easter.

Goodness*!  It's the last day of August; hard to believe. This month my resolutions didn't sit too well with me, and by 'sit well' I mean I barely followed them.  It's as if I forgot I'd made them... funny how that happens.  Onto the list!

1.  I have spent many-a-time lake-side this summer, which I'm super grateful of.  It's so nice to get away on weekends in good company.

2.  I used Instagram a lot more than before (twice counts, right?)

3.  I didn't go thrifting once.

4.  Resolutions #3's outcome didn't help me save money this month... I just shopped at regular retail stores instead.  (oops?)

5.  I didn't just run 1km without stopping, I ran 2km.  Woot.  Woot.

6.  I wore sunscreen on the tops of my hands once.  I blame the non-sunny days.

* I've been using the term, 'Goodness' in regular everyday life.  It's strange.  Where does one pick up this sweet, but slightly senior-citizen-like term?  I'm not sure.  Someone tells me something shocking, 'Goodness!' I say.  I burn the dinner, insert-the-term-here.  I'm talking to a friend and they show me a new purchase, 'Goodness.. that's pretty'.  I forget to do something... you know the drill.  The word is really quite versatile.  Try it.  You might feel 70+ yrs. but maybe I'm starting a trend.  Just sayin'.

My weekend has been interesting; I've not only had a great one, it's been a huge learning experience.  Over the past few months, I've started to realize just how important communication is (it's huge), and you'd think I would know that (or anyone would, for that matter), but I didn't.  I never realized the powerfulness behind communication and talking things through.  I've also learned that you should never take anyone for granted.  They could be gone at the drop of the hat but if you're really, really lucky, they might still stick around.  You know who you are, and I'm so grateful.

I wore this outfit to a baby shower in the Spring and totally forgot to post about it, so, here we are.

Lately I find myself much more drawn to my flats than my heels.  It could be the warmer weather (flats are less fussy) or just the fact that I'm prefering comfort over... well... uncomfort?  Yes, I admit it, as much as I love heels, they aren't always comfy.
So two weeks ago I went to a (beautiful) wedding ceremony and reception.  The service was beautiful, outdoors (it was a hot and sunny day) and in a gazebo and the bride was stunning.  The reception was at a super upscale hotel in their outdoor pavilion, and so chic.  Everything from the dress to the cake was perfect that day and I think I speak for everyone when I say it was an amazing day and night.  However, due to the fact that it was an outdoor-ish reception, the mosquitos were a tad prickly.  The next day I had nine bites on one foot and six on the other.  Nine on one foot.  Can you believe that?  I must be pumpin' some pretty awesome blood... it's either that or the fair skin - they see right through me.
 Anne Michelle heels (last seen here), swapped out for my flats during my lunch hour... and the rest of the day.

Writers block.  Or as I like to call it, Bloggers Block.  What do you do when you suffer from it?  I'll either ramble or write about something completely irrelevant, or just not say anything at all.  With that said, let's choose the latter and discuss hair colour.  I am a (mousy) brunette, but clearly you did not know this from my photos as I hide it quite well (yeah right).  Recently, my girl friend suggested I do some sort of major overhaul with my hair (yelp) and I must confess; the thought scares (the shit out of) me.  First off, I love being blonde.  Secondly, after chopping off five inches off my hair almost three years ago (into an asymmetrical bob), I've been trying to grow my hair out (and am very reluctant to cut any of it).  Finally, it's summer, and summer is not the time I want to really switch it up.  However, I might consider something drastic for the fall.  Would you?

A couple weekends ago I got up earlier than normal, did random stuff around the house, got dressed and went out to get groceries (something I never attempt on a Saturday).  This was before the seven straight days of rain we've had.  Oh sunshine, won't you please come back?  Oh right, and I forgot the cliché blogger tagline: and this is what I wore.

Fun posts you may have missed:
* Healthier Strawberry Pancakes (weekend is a comin')

Just a few new additions to the room.  These arrived while I was in Florida, so sadly I haven't worn them yet.  C'mon summer, I wanna wear these sandals.  As far as the wedges go, I'm planning a DIY for them and have already ordered the supplies, so stay tuned.

Must be something about those back zippers...

 These don't seem to be available in nude anymore but I did find them here in smaller sizes
