Although it's still almost two years away from my new condo being ready, I thought I would post any inspiration I have for what will be a blank slate. I like looking at others' inspiration and also, it will be a great resource for me to go back when I do move and start the decorating process.
Since I will have an entire room dedicated to my closet (eep!), I have many, many ideas swirling in my head. I'm not sure if I want a dark theme (my initial thought) with dark shelves and drawers, or a white coloured theme (some of the photos with that are so pretty). Additionally, wouldn't it be so cool to be able to hang your lingerie (instead of stuffing it in a drawer and hat boxes like I do now)? I already have a manequin which I love to dress up and I just ordered two acrylic bracelet t-stands to further organize my accessories.
Here are some photos I've found online that I'm drawn to.

* If a photo belongs to you, please let me know and I will credit the source properly. These have been saved for several months on my computer and I don't typically source them when I save them for personal use.

I was listening to the radio the other morning, and they were talking about full service gas stations and how you should tip them. I'm often of the mind-set, 'When in doubt, tip' but it had never crossed my mind to tip at the gas station (which I'm kind of embarassed to admit). Admitidly you are paying more for full service, and I guess that was my rationale.
When it comes to tipping, other than restaurant servers, who do you tip?

Now I'm no stranger to a sparkly mini skirt, but this one I really love for two things, (1) it's tribal pattern (I actually saw a girl in Vegas when I was at the I Heart Radio concert wearing something similar but of course it was from a store in another state and not in Canada), and (2) the colour scheme. I love the idea of taupe, purple, lime & black together. What a great combination!
While reading one of my favourite blogs the other day, I came across a post with some really thoughtful words and quotes that completely inspired this post.
I think we can read blogs and can live vicariously through someone else or simply envy or wish our life was as glamours, busy, expensive, fulfilling, creative... the list goes on and on and on. And while it's a terrible thing, to be envy, and to feel envious, it happens.
I have gotten some pretty nice comments from you in the past, and comments even about how great my life looks and how my weekends, 'Seem so awesome;' which is really sweet, and I appreciate that. That said, my life isn't all roses, and I wouldn't want anyone to think I don't go through hard times or have hard times. I certainly do, but I don't always talk about them on here (imagine me posting a vlog of me sobbing over my problems?!).
I know there are so many people going through difficult things right now, and I have been there, I've been so low I didn't know how or where I would find the strength to come back out, or up. Not everything is what it seems, when it's happening. I know what it is like to feel sad for days, weeks.. months on end and I wanted to remind you that you are not alone. Whatever you're going through, do not forget that.
We are all human, and experience highs and lows. Sometimes I cry for no reason. Sometimes I just feel down. Sometimes I can't figure out why I'm feeling sad, and then sometimes the moment passes. I promise this won't last forever though, and know that I'm thinking about you and sending you love.
I wanted to share some of my favourite quotes that helped me through my difficult time in the past. Sometimes I had nothing more than these quotes, and on days where I could barely get out of bed, they managed to breathe some life into me, and I hope they can for you too.
* When I found these quotes, every time one 'spoke' to me, I typed it out and printed it. I kept them all paper-clipped together for the days I needed a boost. It really helped, and over time I added to my little stack and have shared a few with friends when they needed a boost too. I hope if you're having a bad day, week or month (or months) this has given you even the tiniest boost.
Denim on denim on denim. Hanging my jeans to dry after several loads of laundry on Friday night.
Friday night dinner at my place, but not made by meee.
Saturday morning breakfast date.
Saturday afternoon shopping.
New purchases (will be shown in an upcoming PDO video).
Satuday night take-out: St. Hubert.
My new (official Olympic gear) Canada hoodie (scored this for 60% off!).
New little bear hat (to all my Canadian readers, Zellers has 80% off all winter accessories, making this little guy only $3).
Sunday am fuel.
Sunday afternoon I spent prepping to film and filming my next vlog for Place d'Orleans. These three tops stole the show.
Super Bowl party festive Jell-o shooters (there were ones for the Raven's fans too).
I've talked about being a 'saver' of my clothing and shoes, and while I've made it a resolution in the past to do that less, and have actually been able to do so on many occassions, I still find myself saving things.
Saving for what?
The perfect occassion.
The perfect day.
The perfect feeling. Obviously.
(This is kind of long winded, so more after the jump...)
Sam Edelman has come out with a new version of the Sophie Low wedges I purchased and loved so much last year (see them here with a skirt, here with pants & here with denim shorts; jeeze I miss summer!).
I'm tempted to pick up the Serena's but torn on the colour. I love that I can wear a lower heel and still feel really stylish and put together; something this shoe definitely accomplishes.
Outfit deets:
* Dynamite blazer (old) which you've seen in a navy/black outfit, with a pretty dress for a fancy event & with a leopard dress for my 2011 resolutions (!).
* H&M cheetah top (seen back in 2010 in an outfit I still love) with lace Ardene bandeau underneath.
* H&M waxed pants which you've seen with hi-top wedge sneakers, also with a cardigan and cap-top heels (a fave) and a printed top and nude wedges.
* Aldo wedges that are a fave (and old) seen last with a skirt and hunt green chiffon top.
* Accessories: MK watch, Aldo belt (super old) & three Suzy snake necklaces looped together & held with a hoop earring at the back to create a shorter, chunky necklace.
Hey everyone! Just popping in to share my New Years Resolution (yes, I'm a little late to the party, but I wasn't planning on creating any resolutions so here here!).
Since I'm a natural 'saver', as we've discussed before, I thought my NY Resolution should be to post more spontaneously. So often I have ideas for posts or pictures to use, and I don't. I save the idea, I save the pictures, thinking I will use them at a later date, or for when I experience bloggers-block etc. and often the idea gets lost, the pictures are then out-dated (at least to me) and I'm wishing I had just used them in the first place.
Additionally, sometimes I'm afraid to put too much out there, for you guys to be like, 'Ugh, it's enough, too many social media outlets!' but then again, when I think of the bloggers I like to follow, the more pictures, posts and sharing of their life, the better!
So, officially, post with more abandonnment. Here goes nothing!
This is a shot from when I got home; waxed pants + slipper booties, epic combo.
Have you checked out Vine yet? It's a new social media app, similar to Instagram (on steroids), but it plays looping videos of about five seconds long. It's quickly blowing up and of course, being a social media lovah, I jumped on (and was happy to see many of my favourite bloggers using it too).
I have only managed to post one video thus far but I think this weekend will prove to hold some fun videos. You can find me under ACoest1984 (like everything else).
January was a great month (despite the frigid temps) and I thought since it's a new year, I would start a new monthly recap at the end of each month; a look back of sorts.
This month I blogged about the year 2012, got my first gel manicure and hung some art in my apartment (finally, and with the help of someone special).
I DIY'ed a cute sweatshirt, bought some leopard-print ankle booties and got more comfortable with my 'nerd' glasses. I replaced the second-hand black curtains (that were on lend from my bestie) in my room to metallic silver and frolicked in the snow (correction: stood in the snow and had my picture taken).
I attended an amazing surf 'n turf dinner (we made a video HERE), ate breakfast at Broadways every weekend and painted my nails a pretty pink. I wore polka dot pants, re-pierced my third hole, wore a sparkly skirt and shopped the Zara semi-annual sale. I also picked up a sweet pair of red kicks to take me into Spring.
After such positive and great feedback on last week's discussion (thank you!), I've decided to post these on Wednesday's and call them our, Let's Chat posts. Please chime in within the comments below, I love hearing from you all, and it's fun to interact.
When I was single, I went on several dates and remember one date asking me if I ever kissed on the first date. What a surprising question and one I had to think about it. The answer was no, since being re-single, but not because I think it's bad. In fact, I don't think there is anything wrong with a kiss on the first date, but for me, up until that point, I guess I never felt comfortable with most dates or ready for that step.

Kissing can be so intimate, or it can be so impersonal. I remember not having any reservations about it when I was younger, but as I've gotten older, I totally shy away from the idea, as if it's something I reserve for a few dates in.
What about you, do you kiss on the first date? Or did you?
Other Let's Chat posts you may have missed:
* Do you wash your clothes before you wear them?
I've been semi-on the hunt for a black watch (I have a cheapie one, but never wear it because I don't love it and haven't gotten the band sized) and this one has been swooning. There are a few different styles of The Time Teller, but this one with the gold clasp and features steals my heart. So. Nice.
Outfit deets:
* American Eagle cardigan which you've seen with white pants in the summer and with a khaki skirt and my neon Louboutins.
* Urban Planet peplum top that I scored during the shop-off that won me the title of PDO Fashion Vlogger (you can also see it in my Fall Fashion vlog).
* H&M pants (old).
* Ardene cap-toe flats (I'm clearly having a cap-toe-moment). See cap-toe my DIY HERE.
* Accessories: Suzy necklace, Dollarama ring & Auslini bangle.
How is everyone's week shaping up? We got dumped with a ton of snow yesterday (which was really pretty, but terrible for driving) and I spent the evening indoors just having a me night.
I know I've been keeping you semi-updated on the car sitch, so here's where I'm at: I've found a car that I like and am going through all the hoops to figure out if it's 'the one'. My car is for sale and I've shown it a few times, I've even gotten an offer but decided I wanted to get a little more than they were offering.
Buying and selling a car is time consuming and stressing me out (ha), but, that's probably why it's taken me so long to get even this far. That said, I won't say much more as I don't want to jinx anything or get all excited for nothing. There is much more to do before anything is (if and when) finalized, so yes. That is that thus far.
Don't forget to come back tomorrow for the second discussion day in our little series (btw, what should I name this series?). Read last week's topic HERE.
On Friday night there was a rib feast at a friend's house, which was awesome.
I brought cornbread from Montana's.
I know I tweeted that I might make a video like last time, but it was much lower key and while I started filming,I didn't end up finishing it, so, no video this time.
On Saturday morning I showed my car (which is for sale) and then did some shopping. That evening we celebrated my Grammy's 85th birthday (which I have no photos to show for).
Outfit deets: Smart Set cardigan, Stitches lace tank, Zara pants (new!), Spring hidden wedge boots & vintage necklace.
Playing with this cutie (she's not mine).
Sunday morning (habitual) breakfast.
"New" shades.
On Sunday afternoon, I went to look at a car I'm considering buying and the BFF always sends me the sweetest texts I had to take a screen shot (really hoping operation-buy-a-car works out this time!).
Afterwards, I did a little shopping for my next PDO vlog.
Outfit deets: Dynamite sweater, Pepe jeans & Spring boots (I practically live in these on weekends).
Purchases!
An amazing Sunday dinner: pulled pork sandwiches with home-made beans (which were soaked, slow cooked and more, plus there's real bacon in them).
A sneak peak at my new shoes.
And in case you missed it, my most recent haul video.
