As promised, here is a behind-the-scenes peek at day two of the Place d'Orleans Spring Promo Photoshoot.  This day was fun as I felt more comfortable with the majority of the outfits as I liked them.  If you like something, you will generally feel more comfortable in it, right?  Same goes for modelling the clothes (surprise, surprise).

We shot six different complete looks from various stores, which I'll list below.  I loved some of the items so much, I even went back and purchased a few (the denim vest above, the light turquoise/mint chinos below but in a baby yellow and some bangles).

Shooting the looks took just under three hours and are being used for a contest the mall is currently running to give four people the opportunity to win $500 to spend at the mall (see all the deets HERE)!

Not everything is what it seems:  this dress from Laura, although beautiful, was too big for me--and the smaller size not available--so it was clamped up the back!

As you guys know, I did a photoshoot for Place d'Orleans (the mall I'm the Fashion Vlogger for) the past two weekends for a Spring contest they are currently running.  I'm excited to share the details with you and if you're from Ottawa, encourage you to enter because you could win a $500 gift card for the mall!

Entering is easy, simply visit the Place d'Orleans Facebook page and Pin your favourite look (of three) I'm wearing.  From there, they will pick one winner per week.  We will be showcasing three looks each week for four weeks!  That's $2000 worth of shopping up for grabs, so get Pinning!  #PDOPinUpGirls

See all the details from my photoshoot HERE.

As you guys know, I have a part-time job as a Fashion Vlogger with Place d'Orleans, a mall in my city.  I shop (within a budget with them) and create vidoes that are posted on YouTube twice a month.  You can see all my videos HERE.

Back in November, they asked me to be the face of their 2012 Holiday Campaign and I could not have been more excited.  It was my first photoshoot and while nerve-wracking, also so much fun (see the end results HERE).  So when they asked me if I would be interested in working on another photoshoot for an upcoming promo they will be doing, I jumped at the chance.

I wanted to share some behind-the scenes photos from the day.  We will be shooting again this coming weekend and I'll keep you posted on all the details of what this was for once it's released.

For my thirteenth video as the Place d'Orleans Fashion Vlogger, I'm sharing the hottest trends for Spring 2013!

They are:
* Floral
* Pastels
* Chambray
* Black & white

And exciting news!  This was set to be my last video for my contract with the mall but they have asked me if I would stay on and continue as the Vlogger for the mall and I could not be more excited!  I have learned so much with this experience and my videos and editing are getting better and better.  Additionally, we have some fun things coming up soon which I will, of course, be sharing here.

Stay tuned for more (specifically on the Place d'Orleans FB page).

For my twelth video as the Place d'Orleans Fashion Vlogger, I'm sharing some great Spring Trends and finds that I picked up while shopping.

I'm loving neon again for this summer and definitely scored some great hi-lighter hued items, but for the rest, you'll have to watch!

For my eleventh video as the Place d'Orleans Fashion Vlogger, I'm sharing my DIY kiss-printed jacket.  Inspired by Erin Fetherston's Spring 2013 collection & LoveMaegan's take on it, I decided to give it a whirl and I love the results!

A fresh look for Spring that I can't wait to rock.  The best part?  It's no sew and anyone can do it.  Peep the vid to get in on the kissing action.

For my tenth video as the Place d'Orleans Fashion Vlogger, I'm showing you exactly how to turn your maxi dress into a maxi skirt (via video!).  I absolutely loved the chevron pattern on this maxi dress from Urban Planet but sadly, as you can see, it's more than a tad short.  I couldn't pass it up though (it was $19; cheaper than buying the fabric itself!) and knew instantly what I wanted to do--I never even tried it on as a dress in the store, I simply tried it as if it were a skirt!

Watch the video below to see a very easy way to use your sewing machine to turn your maxi dress into a maxi skirt.

SIDE NOTE:  I added a waist-band to the skirt as it wasn't long enough for me without it (I'm 5'11), however, if you're shorter, or your fabric is longer, you could skip the waist-band part altogether.  Since this is jersey fabric, if you're not a sewer, or don't have a machine, you can simply cut it and wear it.  The jersey will not fray, simply roll a little, which looks charming anyways.

Have fun!

I'm back with my ninth video as the Place d'Orleans Fashion Vlogger and am so excited to share some Spring fashion with you guys!  I'm so tired of winter and just dying to slip my feet into some sandals and leave the house without a jacket, what about you?

In this video, I'm sharing some of my awesome finds this month and some hot trends for Spring.  My favourites are definitely neons and floral prints (but there's more, so watch the video; ha!) and summer cannot come soon enough!

I'm really excited to share with you guys my fourth video for my Fashion Vlogger gig.  For this one, I'm showing you four very different ways to wear a sequined skirt.

I personally think this is my best video/vlog to date, ever.  I've never shown the full outfits in a video before and doing a talk-over was something new for me.  I also managed to keep this video under four minutes (fourth video, four outfits, four minutes... what the wha!?) which is great because we are all busy.

My favourite outfit is definitely the last one; it's edgy, young and fresh but I am also a fan of number one and two as well.  Ha, so hard to choose.

Stay tuned for more videos (specifically on the Place d'Orleans FB page), the next one will be out mid-December and I'll have some great New Years Eve looks for you.

From photoshoot to final product;  I'm on the Place d'Orleans (mall) website!  It's a little bit surreal.

Later this week I'll share some more photos that are up at the actual mall (so crazy!).

For my third video as the Place d'Orleans Fashion Vlogger, I'm discussing how to bundle up while still looking cool!  I purchased some things such as a snood, hidden-wedge boots and more.

Stay tuned for more videos (specifically on the Place d'Orleans FB page), the next one will be out at the beginning of December!

On Saturday, I was whisked away to Montreal for a photoshoot for the 2012 Holiday Campaign for Place d'Orleans (a mall in my city; the one I am the Fashion Vlogger with).  As in, I'm going to be the face of the Christmas campaign.  What!?

This doesn't happen to me.

I am not a model.

Did this just happen!?

The day was so exciting; it was a real photoshoot with a professional photographer, stylist, make-up artist, crew, snow machine, and more.  It was surreal!

From the moment I arrived, everyone was so sweet and hospitable, making me feel almost instantly comfortable (but I was a little nervous, to be honest).  They sat me in the hair and make-up chair and I was pampered from head to toe.  About an hour later, I was dressed, hair did, nails painted and full make-up ready to go.  They put on some more upbeat music than the cool-chill vibe stuff they had on and we got started.

The first look was a LimitĂ© bustier, Jacob skirt & Le Chateau fur stole clipped with some sparkly barrets.  It looked beautiful, but I felt a little exposed (ha!).  Everyone was so encouraging and while I have never really modelled before, I did enjoy my experience.  The second outfit was my favourite, a black and gold sequined dress from Le Chateau that fit me like a glove and I felt very comfortable in.  They had me dance around while 'snow' was falling on me (I say 'snow' because it was more like foam from a bubble bath that smelt like plastic).

I'd love to share some photos with you...

 The moment I arrived I snapped this pic and it started to set in that it was about to get real!

 Hair & make-up tools on Tomoko's table.

 All these shoes and accessories for me (heaven!).

 After curling and pinning my hair into pin-curls, Tomoko started my make-up.

Stylist Patricia organizing all the clothing she pulled and brought to the shoot.

 Getting the set ready (my view from the hair chair).

 Once I was dressed in my first outfit, Tomoko gave me a dark lip (perfect for fall!).  She was so cute and stood on a stool so we'd be eye to eye!

 Being styled (and looking angry, but I promise I'm not!).

It's snowing indoors!

 The crew and photographer checking out some shots mid-shoot.

 More make-up and different hair for the second outfit.

Ready to go.

 Checking out some of the frames.
The photographer told me she took 148 frames of the second outfit (with me dancing) and I gave her a different shot every. single. time.  She said she doesn't even get that from professional models!  #proudmoment

The campaign is set to go live mid-late November and I will be featured on the mall doors and decals, the website, them all brochure and transit stops.  I could not be more excited and grateful for such a cool experience.  Everyone was so positive, warm and gave me great feedback during the shoot, it was a real success!  Thank you Place d'Orleans, I had a blast.

That's a wrap!

Today I am heading to Montreal for a photo shoot and am so excited!  It has something to do with my vlogger gig, but I'm not sure I can say anymore at this time.

I was up bright and early (for a Saturday) and am currently on the train.  It will be a long day of shooting but it's so fun.  I've never done a professional photo shoot before and am going to be getting hair and make-up done and will be styled as well!  Cool, 'eh?

I'll try to get some snaps 'behind-the-scenes' to share with you, if I can.  Wish me luck!

Outfit deets:  H&M jacket (thrifted), Winners sweater, H&M tank, Sirens leggings, Rampage boots, Aldo purse (green), Mat & Nat bag & Gucci shades.

For my second video as the Place d'Orleans Fashion Vlogger, I pull together some wardrobe classics, or things that you can look for while out shopping that can easily mix and match with things you likely already own.

Stay tuned for more videos (specifically on the Place d'Orleans FB page), the next one will be out mid-November!

Here is my first vlog as the Place d'Orleans Fashion Vlogger and I couldn't be more excited.  We filmed a b-roll (the little introduction part)  a few weeks ago and the marketing company did a great job putting it together.

I will be filming two videos per month and will be sure to post them here once they go live.

For this video, I focused on four categories for fall trends:

* Pattern (polka dots, leopard)
* Shape (peplum, envelope)
* Colour (hunter green, burgundy, rose gold)
* Texture (waxed, lace)

Stay tuned for more videos (specifically on the Place d'Orleans FB page), the next one will be out at the end of the month!

I'm cutting right to the chase:  I won the Vlogger Search contest yesterday!

In an exhilarating, competitive and super fun day, I came out on top for the Fashion Vlogger search that was happening at my local mall.  I couldn't be more excited!

So after all of you amazing people voted for me on Facebook, and placing first (thank you!), I was called back yesterday to compete in the finals against nine other Fashion Vloggers.  Upon arriving at the mall, we collected our name badges and signed in.

We were called to the stage at 11am and took turns introducing ourselves in front of the judges and audience (I was totally nervous).  From there we were given our challenge:

They gave us $200 gift cards to shop and find the following fall fashion trends:
* Shape
* Texture
* Colour
* Pattern

Then we were off.  We had an hour and a half to complete our shop-off before returning to the stage.

My strategy was simple: find an item for each category, and then go back and 'beef up' my haul with additional pieces and remaining money.

I picked up key pieces: peplum & envelope (shape), waxed jeans (texture), polka dots & leopard print (pattern) and hunter green, rose gold & burgundy pieces (colour).

Once we all returned, we took the stage to take turns pitching our findings to the judges and growing audience.  The order of presenters was randomly draw and guess who was picked to go first?  Me.  Cue the butterflies!

We had five minutes to talk about what we purchased, as if filming a vlog, with a microphone and a small chair to put our items on (should we choose).  I gave it my best and although I forgot to say many things (like how I only had 33 cents remaining on my gift card; talk about stretching your money!), I must have done okay as I was chosen to be the next Fashion Vlogger for the mall.  So exciting!

So here's the deal:  for the next six months I will be given $300 per month to shop and vlog twice per month.  These vlogs will be posted on the Place d'Orleans Facebook Page and I'm hoping I can post them here for you all as well (if not, I will certainly link up).

Thank you again to all of you who voted, sent kind messages, congratulated me and more!  You're awesome & I couldn't have done it without you!

Now, onto some photos!

The judges deliberated and then each spoke about the winner, without revealing her (me!)...

...and then they announced that I was the winner!
I will admit I did the 'dance of joy' as per my Grammy, on stage:

Here is a list of the girls who participated that have blogs:

(And a few more fun photos on Instagram, if you'd like).
