I bought this top last week while shopping with my mom.  It was exactly what I was on the hunt for: something loose, flowy, preferably grey (remember, small on-going obsession).  It was amongst some dresses, totally random, I held it up and just knew.  Tried it on, done.  Never saw another one like it.  I purchased it with the ntent of wearing it on weekends... you know, with skinny jeans, leggings, mini skirts.  However, I have been itching to wear it and hadn't yet so when I pulled it out in the morning to try to see if it'd make the cut for work wear, I was skeptical.  However, I managed to pull it off and in one of my current fave colour combos too!  Bonus.

While on a recent thrifting jaunt (yes, jaunt), I was heading to the cash and spied this mint green knit mohair sweater peeking out from a bunch of dud sweaters.  I quickly whipped down the aisle, held it up and imagined it used to belong to some elderly woman.  Perfect.  I purchased it immediately and left even happier.  Imagine my surprise when I washed it (before wearing, of course) and saw the 'Esprit' lable inside.  Elderly lady it did not belong to, yet, likely some girl my age.  Nonetheless, it was an excellent find, even if it's not vintage.

Next up, as you might know, I took a really bad fall almost two weeks ago, and was off work for just over a week.  It was pretty terrible, but the rest did me well as I'm back at work this week and feeling almost as good as new.  This past Saturday, I had my family Thanksgiving (the one I posted about was the in-laws) and since I was still unable to drive (due to my back), my parents had planned to pick me up.  Well, dinner was at 5:30pm but my mom called at 10:30am to see if I'd be ready for 1pm instead.  Why so early (!? - I shrieked a little), and she calmly replied, 'So we can go to the mall first?'  Without hesitation I said I'd be ready for 1pm.  After being cooped up in the house for a week and a half, I wanted to get out (and to my second home, needless to say).  Now of course, by the end of the shopping trip, I was getting a little sore and my back was agitated, but, it was worth it.  You know why?  Because I picked up this amazing white faux fur jacket!  I saw it and it was love at first sight.  The store had just unpacked it that morning and it wasn't even on the floor yet!  The best part?  My mom printed an extra coupon for me to use (that day only) to get 40% off.  It was a no brainer.  A slight splurge, but a no brainer.  I think we will be very happy together.  I already showed her off a little.

I'm loving the look of a lace-up and zip-up bootie combined.  I've been seeing them everywhere online but these Aldo ones take the cake for me.  When I saw them in person, even better.  I walked away without them that day, but haven't stopped thinking about them ever since.

I snapped this pictures super quick on my lunch hour as the camera battery flashed, and flashed and flashed until it gave up.  I'm super surprised at how many 'not bad' pictures I got - score.

So I started a new job this week and it's been going really well, but hey, really, we are only on day three, but I'm super optimisitc about this.  I was pretty unhappy where I was before, stuck it out for a year and a half, and was still miserable.  It's so draining when you are unhappy at work.  Not only does it affect your view on going to work, it actually takes a toll on your whole life.  I was literally going into work backwards and counting the minutes till the end of the day.  I tried to do my best, but being unhappy does something to you.  The people I worked with were great though and gave me a super sweet pizza lunch on my last day, complete with well wishes and a few gifts (how sweet is that!?).  All in all to say, sunny skies ahead and I'm really excited about this new chapter in my life.

I'm always baffled when I hear about people still tanning (using tanning beds).  There is so much information and knowledge out there about how terrible it is for you, it's hard to believe people choose to ignore it in favour of bronzed skin.  Now I'm no stranger to a tanning bed, I did work at a tanning salon (cringe) six years ago and had never been so dark in my life.  And yes, being tanned is a beautiful thing, especially when you're as fair as I am, it brings confidence, makes you look slimmer and there is almost no unflattering clothing colour.  However, the longt erm effects are not worth it.  I know much better now, and if I could take back the damage I've already done, I would because it was pure stupidity.

Now a days, I tan myself with self-tanners (and wear sunscreen every single day).  My favourite is L'Oreal Sublime (which as you can tell, I'm not wearing in these photos) for creating a great at-home tan.  However, I must say, nothing beats a real spray-tan done at the salon.  My fave is the Mystic Tan which a local tanning salon offers and I'm loving.

I did a photoshoot with a photographer friend a few months back which was really great.  We met for breakfast and then did some shooting in various spots in the downtown core.  The downside?  It was pouring rain, almost the entire time.  However, after the shoot we took part in some retail therapy which was quite rewarding.

I was perusing the thrift store the other day and came across this fabulous dress from a fave store.  I couldn't believe my eyes when it was in my size and obviously for a fraction of the price it would have normally been.  It also reminds me of the dress I wore at our wedding party meet-n-greet.  I snatched it up, brought it home, washed it and rocked it almost immediately.  Don't you love when things like that work out?

{ I made these umbrellas - tutorial - for my bridesmaids, however, we didn't have to use them }
