Happy Friday my friends!  It's finally here, the weekend - breathe easy.

I finally sat down at my sewing machine last night and ... sewed.  Yes, I actually focused.  And guess what?  I'm about to cross of #5 off my April resolutions list (whoomp there it is).  No. Big. Deal.  And don't fret my friends, I will be sharing the wealth, and by that I mean taking some photos and showing you... I'm keeping them for myself though, sorry (I'm not that wealthy).

Secondly, I went for that test drive I was telling you guys about.  It was awesome; the car is sick and really fun to drive.  However, the V6 is just more power than I need... okay, that's not true, it's the high gas prices and gas guzzling consumption I'm worried about.  Engine power?  Pshhh.  Gas prices?  Eeek.  So, I've decided the four cynlinder is a better option, but am taking my time to ensure everything is right.  I haven't ruled out other options but won't be making a decision right away.  Car shopping to me is scary and exciting, all at once.  Anyone else out there shopping for a new (or used) car?

 I could be your treble, baby, you could be my bass.
...
It's getting bigger.  The bass is getting bigger.

I have decided to put together a mini resolution list for the month of March.  I already gave my resolutions for the year, but instead of adding to that, I'm going to check off a few new ones in a month alone.

1.  Rock dangly earrings more often.  Husband loves these (especially big hoops) and while I have a ton of earrings, I always revert to my tride-n-true studs (I even wore them for my wedding).  In the past two weeks I've purchased three pairs of dangly earrings and have already worn one of them twice.  Go girl.

2.  Floss.  Okay, this is kind of gross but I hate that shiz, but I'm making it my mission to make this a regular habit (so what if I have a dentist appointment on March 31st).

3.  Celebrate my 27th birthday.  This one might be inevitable as my birthday is quickly approaching and I cannot change that.  However, that said, I'm super excited for number 27 as this is an age I've been looking forward to for years.  No joke.  Also, I'm really just trying to bathe in this excitement of getting older as I might never feel this optimistically about it again.  Ha.

4.  Let my nails grow.  Over a year ago, for the first time ever in my life, I let my nails grow.  I'm not sure what came over me (well, actually I do remember admiring my bridesmaid's nails at brunch one day over the Christmas break and wishing mine were like hers...) but one day I just stopped.  I managed to grow them for almost a whole month and it was incredible.  I'd never seen my own natural nails that long and it was awesome.  Since then, I've let them grow and bit them off, let them grow and picked them off - it seems to come and go in stages.  I'm currently in a 'bite them off' kind of stage which I don't want to be, so, here's to March (and I say this as I sit here and pick my nails).

Outdoor outfit shots!  Finally!  I took advantage of the amazing weather last Friday and snapped these shots after work.  The sun was shinning, the wind was blowing and most importantly, the snow was melting.  It was a balmy 10 degrees Celcius (that's 50 degrees F for you American folk) which is ridiculously unheard of for here.  People were driving with their (car) windows down, walking around without jackets and even wearing open-toed shoes (okay, maybe that was just me - but for the record, I did have boots with me but they were so unnecessary).  However, Mother Nature came to her senses the next day and snapped back with temperatures of -10 C.  So much for the heat wave.

See, I told you these jeans were long!  Woohoo!

Look!  My new boots!  I finally wore them.  Yes, you read correctly, I haven't worn them despite receiving them for Christmas because I was a little wary about the height of the heel on these.  I'd begged husband to get them for me for Christmas but had only coveted them from afar (aka online).  When I opened the box, I was ecstatic... until I saw the height of the heel.  Definitely five inches, maybe a tad more... Being 5'11 I try to draw the line at 4.75 inches.  No, it doesn't make a huge difference for most, but I'm tall enough as it is and I can certainly feel insecure when I'm towering over everyone and have people commenting left, right, and centre about how tall I am.  That said, I love heels and won't give them up, I've learned to love my height (I can't change it so I embrace it) but I have to draw the line somewhere and that line is at 4.75 inches.

However, I love and loved these boots so much I couldn't return them.  I decided the perfect opportunity would be to wear them out while with my tallest friend and it worked out well because she wore heels as well and we were the same height.  Love it.  Not only that, they were pretty comfy despite the narrow sole pad and I shopped till I dropped in them (with back-up flats in my bag, of course, which I didn't end up needing - score).

Update:  my outfit ended up being feature on MTV!  Check it out HERE.

Honestly, how many (faux) leather jackets can I buy in one season?!  This would be the third, or fourth, considering I bought two at the same time.  I know.  The worst part?  It's now too cold here to actually wear them outside, however, I was super anxious to put this bad boy to good use so I made it work for indoors - and I'm quite pleased (so pleased that I belted it over another outfit within a week).

So Christmas is a mere three days away (omg, typing that just make me freak out a little more) and I'm so unprepared.  My shopping is almost done (is it ever really done?  Like, don't you always feel you need, 'just one more thing'?  ...story of my life) but I haven't started wrapping.  That was supposed to be last night and I ended up making some jewelery for a few friends as Christmas gifts (still productive) plus I had a couple orders from customers as well.  Tonight I will wrap, I must, I must, I must increase ... the amount of wrapping I do...?  Right.  How about just start.  Sheesh.  I'm on a time crunch tonight too, as my girl friend and I are doing our gift exchange tonight around 9pm and I just found out that her boyfriend got her one of the same things I got her (out of three items I have for her).  Awesome.  So, I will be on a mad hunt to exchange it for something else (yes, all tonight before the exchange, before doing all my wrapping and all that jazz).  I'll be sure to post about our exchange and show you my goodies!  Yipee, Christmas is fun!

I got home on Tuesday night and immediately undressed and climbed into bed.  I was exhausted.  Sometimes I just do that, get into bed as soon as I get home (and we're talking late afternoon here, it's not like I'm working till 9pm).  Last night was no exception.  Fortunately, husband was home and he made me dinner and snacks which we ate together in bed while watching Sunday's episode of Dexter.  So enjoyable and just what I needed.

Hubs and I decorated our Christmas tree last night, and while I can't wait to show you all the tree and festive decor, it will have to wait because by the time we were done I was exhausted and in no state to take photos, edit said photos and post them.  Soon, very soon, so for now you get an outfit post.

So being unable to rely on hubs to take my outfit photos is getting a little bit frustrating.  My sister is good, but she's hit or miss and bailed on me the last two days in a row.  Last night, hubs wasn't in the most festive of moods for taking photos, and ultimately, not owning a tripod is becoming an issue.  Why an issue now and now month ago?  Well my lovely readers, I'll tell you why.  Why, because the weather is turning cold, hell-o, it's December (can't believe it!) and while I can always find something to prop the camera on outside, indoors is much different.  A good chunk of our place is carpet, and I refuse to walk on it with my shoes (clean freak coming through) and there are only so many places that warrant an 'acceptable' background.  However, like my sister said, she doesn't want to get me a tripod if I'm just going to purchase a SLR in the very soon future (fingers crossed) and then need a new tripod to fit the new camera.  Le sigh.  What's the solution?  Complaining a bit more might help...

BTW, we've had about two inches of rainfall (or at least that's what's expected by this morning) and it's melted all the snow!  YES!  Love it.  While I obviously love snow at Christmas, it can hold off till a few days before ... but, in all honesty, that's not going to happen (it's suppose to snow tonight - ugh).  Which reminds me, the last time I wore this jacket, it was so warm, and the photos turned out so good too.  Damn gloomy winter weather.

I have these pants for maybe a year.  They are yoga-style pants, but super long (and for me, that's uber rare), so long that I can't really wear them for the gym because I'd be tripping over them.  So, I mainly wear them around the house while lounging etc.  However, I thought it would be cool if I could style them up and see if I could make that work.  I loved being comfortable in these 'snack pants' (as my Dad calls 'em) yet looking pulled together in the heels and leather jacket.  It also worked out well as I was able to run errands get a spray tan afterwards.  I always hate putting on tight clothing after that (and it's not really recommended, either) so this fit the bill.

You guys, it's getting so cold out and this is not good for outfit posts.  I planned on taking this jacket off and showcasing my top, but that wasn't going to happen in the super frigid wind.  Brrrrr.  I think outdoor outfit posts are being quickly phased out, sadly... unless you want pictures of me in my parka.

 { if you couldn't tell from the clench fists, it's cold! }

{ instead of cuffing my jeans, I cuffed them under for a more polished look }
