Okay, so, I don't want to jinx anything, and I just might be doing so by writing this out, but, the weather has been so frickin' nice lately.  I mean, sure, I was away for the weekend, but, since coming back, nothing but blue skies.  I zipped out on my lunch hour to snap these photos as, hello, when I leave it's almost pitch black out, which is a huge downer.. and obviously not ideal for photo taking.  Ugh.  Regardless, I'm going to lap up the warmth while I still can and if that includes running around behind random buildings while a home-less man walks by just to get some outfit shots, then so be it.  Happy hump day!

I took a trip this past weekend to Toronto to visit my very best friend.  She moved there just over two months ago, and while it's for a great reason, it sucks being apart.  This is my first time visiting her, and she has been back home three times (but I only saw her one of those times) since her move.  I left on Thursday (Remembrance Day) and took the train.  It was so fantastic having an extra long weekend and spending it with her.  Her place is awesome and located in a great hub within walking distance to great shops, restaurants, etc.  We ate out every night, did a ton of shopping, went dancing Friday and Saturday and had an amazing time together.  It's nice to be home, but I miss her already, and am counting down the days till Christmas holidays when she's back here.

* Stay tuned for a post about my purchases.
I bought quite a bit while on my trip (yipee!) and can't wait to share.

* Update:  See my purchases here

My most recent pair of kicks.  Picked these up in Toronto on the weekend while visiting the BFF.  We went to the Aldo Outlet on Bloor Street, and what an amazing store.  They have so much selection, and the best part: a huge clearance area.  I saw shoes from years ago.  Wild.   I was so pumped when they actually had my size in these (it's so hard to get my size, often, as they don't make many 10's and 11's).  I wore these out the same night I bought them and was pleasantly surprised that not only could I dance all night long, but they stayed put, without the ankle strap (unlike these which are beautiful but suck to walk more than three feet in, sadly).

These new wedges might give my favourite wedges a run for their money!
Speaking of, did you see my faves are super on sale now?

When you look at these Steve Madden pumps, they are sparkly, but to me, so-so.  However, when I saw them on Sharon's feet, eep!  Totally died.  They look so good!

And a peep-toe version...

On Wednesday I had a jewellery show.  As some of you know, I have a side business, A.Co Designs, in which I design and sell jewellery.  I mainly sell online, in person and at home-parties.  This was the first time selling in a business / public setting.  Unfortunately, it wasn't as successful as I expected, but still worth it.  I gave out a ton of business cards and sold a several pieces.  I even got special visits from my Poppa, Dad and sister.  Aww.

The jewellery below is all hand-made by me, I'll include prices underneath and if you are interested, you can email me.  I also accept custom orders if you have something specific in mind.

 Bangles with charms or special stones, $8

  { the set up }

Long pendant necklaces, $18

Feather headbands, $5 / Feather hair-clips, $3

Earrings, $5

{ I took advantage of having my Dad drop by to visit and got him to snap my pic }

I have these pants for maybe a year.  They are yoga-style pants, but super long (and for me, that's uber rare), so long that I can't really wear them for the gym because I'd be tripping over them.  So, I mainly wear them around the house while lounging etc.  However, I thought it would be cool if I could style them up and see if I could make that work.  I loved being comfortable in these 'snack pants' (as my Dad calls 'em) yet looking pulled together in the heels and leather jacket.  It also worked out well as I was able to run errands get a spray tan afterwards.  I always hate putting on tight clothing after that (and it's not really recommended, either) so this fit the bill.

I am such a terrible packer.  The worst.  Usually I just throw half my closet into my suitcase, add six to eight more items, and call it a vacation.  That usually includes items I've never worn before, items I haven't worn in forever (but I'll certainly want them for my holiday, oh yeah), all my favourites and their favourites.  It's really ridiculous.  This time, though, I made a pact with myself I would do better.  I would plan.  And plan I did.  I styled all my outfits, down to the accessories and undies and packed away.  Only going for four days, yet, my largest suitcase is quite full (still dealing with terrible-packer-syndrom, to a certain extent.  What?! You can't expect me to be cured in one trip!).  However, I think I've done a fair job... I guess time will tell.  I'm heading out of town to visit my BFF and I'm so excited.  What will this mini-vacation include?  A little sushi, a little salsa, a little shopping and a lot of bonding.  How are your packing skills?

{ yup, had to pack my fave wedges }

What you didn't see:  probably taking these boots or something similar

Today is a very exciting day as I'm having another jewellery show, but instead of going to someone's house, I'm selling at a large public facility / workplace.  For the months of October and November, they have a different vendor everyday, and thanks to my friend NP, I am the vendor for today!  I've been working very hard on my A.Co Designs collection to really beef it up.  This time, I've put a lot of focus on bangles and long necklaces with various charms and pendants (like the one above).  Hopefully all will go well and in my down time, I'm sure I'll be tweeting all about it.

Talk about saving.  This is the first time I broke these boots out... and I bought them last year.  Now, to my defense, I did get them in the dead of winter and with snow, slush and salt, suede isn't exactly your friend.  Furthermore, as soon as the warm-ish weather cuts through the six-month long winter, I'm dying to put on anything other than boots.  So when my girlfriend gasped at me for having new boots (what's the big deal anyways?), I told her they weren't new, I had bought them last year.  Does that make sense though?  When does something become not-new?
