Yesterday was Thanksgiving (and technically, today is too) and we had a huge feast at my in-laws place.  My MIL never fails to impress.  She cooked up all the favourites, including a new favourite, sweet potatoe pie (ever had it?).  There was nine of us and we all stuffed ourselves to the brim.  That's what Thanksgiving is about, right?  For dessert, again, she outdid herself and had four (!) desserts: pumpkin pie, brownies, pumpkin carrot cake and my personal fave (and request), coconut cream pie.  Yum!  Tonight we are going over for leftovers (how can you not?  And turkey is my favourite!) and I'm already pumped.

Tonight I will stuff myself with the most amazing Thanksgiving feast.  I'm so excited!  My mother-in-law is making an incredible meal for us, slaving all day in the kitchen and I am so grateful!  She had us (all the kids) put in our requests for dessert several weeks ago, and I made mine known (pumpkin pie & coconut cream pie) immediately.  I so hope we have both because I plan on indulging.  Big time.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians!

* Today is also 10.10.10!
Suzy dress, Joe Fresh skirt, Suzy belt, Bijoux Terner necklace & these shoes

Remember when I wore that pretty (brand new) polka-dotted dress to work for the first time and it ripped right up the back seam to expose my butt?  Remember how I ran to the store at 9am and bought a skirt to cover it up?  Here it is.

{ such a nice dress, so maddening }

{ makin' it work ... somehow }

So here it is.  My shoe room.  Yes, we call it a room.  Tucked away in the basement storage room (not necessarily glamourous, but super funcational and not in anyone's way ... and might I add keeps my shoes organized and easy to find) is where I keep my shoes.  When we moved into our house (almost four years ago), my birthday was coming up and my parents asked me what I would like for my birthday.  I told them one thing, "Shelves.  For my shoes."  They obliged and bought me four eight-foot long shelves, and hubs installed them for me.  Since then, the shelves have multiplied and wrap around the room.  There have been three installments to get this to room to what it looks like today:  (1) putting up shelves  (2) adding more shelves and  (3) shifting shelves closer together to incorporate a fifth shelf plus another wall of shelves.  It really is a dream and I absolutely love it (and do feel very lucky).  Want a tour?
