About a month ago, we took a little day trip to Gatineau Park and took a small hike around Pink Lake.  If you've never been, it's this beautiful aqua-teal coloured lake in Quebec that is just stunning in person. I'm not the biggest outdoor-sy person, but this is something worth seeing, if anything for the photos.

We took Marco's Mom with us, since she was in town, and walked around the park a bit, enjoyed the views before heading back to Ottawa to hit the mall.  Classic women!  I'd love to share some photos with you if you'd like to see...

We went to see Katy Perry 3D on Friday night.  Super good movie & very interesting.
I could have skipped the 3D part of it, but it was still cool.

Afterwards, we went out for beer & pizza on a packed patio.

Saturday I ran around prepping for Sunday's Bridal Shower for my sister.

Ended up going out Saturday night at the last minute with a

This weekend, my family and I, took a trip up to Wasaga Beach to celebrate my Grandpa's 80th birthday.  We left on Friday around 9:30am and arrived at their place around 5pm (long drive!).  The following day there was a party at their place with about 40 people to celebrate such an exciting birthday with coffee, cake and snacks.

In between partying and socializing with family, we ate a ton, visited and relaxed.  Unfortunately, the weather was terrible and it rained all weekend except for three hours on Saturday morning where my sister and I hit the roads for a quickie run and did some shopping at the grocery store shortly after (where I scored those awesome gold pants up there).

We got back into town around 6pm on Sunday night and I spent the evening relaxing, giving myself a pedicure and winding down after a fun, family-filled, eventful weekend.  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

* Sorry for the lack of blog post on Friday; Thursday night ended up being hectic with trying to pack and whatnot so I figured I would blog on the trip down and brought my laptop with me.  Low and behold, of course, I was unable to connect into my Internet connection (via tethering with my iPhone) and thus could not blog.  I thought maybe I would get a chance over the weekend but didn't want to be a hermit on my laptop blogging when I could be visiting with my family.  xo

I know these photos are a little late, but better late than never, right?  Right.  My sister and I hosted Fathers' Day brunch for our family and it was a beautiful day.  The sun was shining, it was warm and we dined al fresco, drank mimosas and had a bean bag game tournament (and guess who won?  This kid, right here).  This is the fourth brunch we've hosted in under two months and again made something new: breakfast pizza, which ended up being a total hit with everyone, including the Dads.

My grandparents invited me to a special soiree a couple weekends ago.  I took advantage and dressed up in a new dress and heels.  Funny story: a middle aged woman comes up to me in the washroom and compliments me, she then tells me that when I walked past her table earlier, her sixteen-year-old son's jaw dropped, which was followed by his 18 year old girlfriend smacking his arm.  Nice to know I'm attractive to a teenager and I'm not 'old' (because I totally thought being a decade older than him would be, you know, 'old').  I had a good laugh and proceeded to receive a few evil eyes from said girlfriend.  Isn't love grand?

My mom & I were taking a shot and my Grammy jumped in at the last second (so cute)

My sister is one of my best friends.   I couldn't nor wouldn't want to make it through my days without her as she is (1) so much fun, and (2) is an amazing support system.  I met the girl when I was just 3 years old and while she used to annoy me, a lot, we are now closer than ever.

Now that's not to say we haven't had our fair share of disagreements; her copy-cat tendencies, my dependency on her to play with me (that's what sisters are for, right?), and everyone being convinced that she was the perfect child (I mean, she did used ask if she could go to bed when she was tired... who does that?  Don't even get me started on that fact that she used to 'tell' on herself when she did something bad)... and I was not.

However, there have been many great things about being sisters; me knowing exactly how she's feeling and being able to speak for her for several years when we were younger, 'No, she doesn't need to go to the bathroom, Mom', having someone to dress up in ridiculous costumes with on random days, and of course, in the later years, party with, laugh with, and share secrets with.

Sister, you're amazing and I love you and I'm so lucky to have the best sister in the world that is you.
