Sort of?
I excitedly picked up my three-year-old-only-worn-twice Aldo boots from the shoe repair last night and I know I promised you all a blog post, but, this is not the final one.
Basically what happened, I picked up the boots and while I hoped there would be even less platform than there is, I was really, really pleased with the results. Alex from Bells Corners Shoe Repair did an amazing job and I was so excited to just be able to wear these beautiful boots, finally. I took them home and wore them around my apartment while doing stuff and realized the left foot felt less stable than the right (pictured above). Then I realized that while the heels matched in height, the platforms did not and the left foot's platform was about half an inch taller.
The right foot felt so good, stable and comfortable while I could feel the difference in my left foot. I thought perhaps I could just get by it, but over the hour I decided that no, I would have to bring them back and get it fixed as it would always bother me.
So, I've taken them back to the shop and they are going to get them to match and even shave off more so that there is barely a platform remaining at all--which is perfect! I will have to wait until next week to get these back but wanted to share some sort of an update with you. I did take some real photos of the boots before hand and will take some pictures when I get them back on Monday to share. This process is so exciting, I can't believe I never looked into this before; I didn't know this existed and I'm going to get a ton of wear out of these boots now. Hoorah!
Additionally, I took in these boots as I totally forgot about them and rediscovered them in my closet last night! I have worn them twice--purchased within a month of the ones above, three years ago--and put them away because they were unstable and far too high. I've decided to get them lowered as well so I'll have some pictures to share of those next week too!
UPDATE | September 15th
I created a video explaining the situation and showing a few more pictures.

Hello!
Just wanted to pop in and say hi since I haven't posted today and I hate that. To be honest, I feel like I'm in a bit of a blogging rut. I don't have anything to talk about and my ideas have run dry. It's not true but I haven't taken as many photos as I normally do and those are important to me, content-wise. So, I'm sharing two photos from this week, the top one I posted on Instagram last night of what I was wearing and this bottom one--whoa! That's a close-up!-which I never posted but took earlier this week and was too shy to share.
So this week has been a great week, thus far and the weekend is quickly approaching, which is always a great thing...unless you're going through a difficult time, then I know how daunting weekends can be. I've been there, through really difficult times where I could barely get out of bed let alone force a smile. I dreaded the weekends and was so relieved when Monday morning came around and I could be back in my routine, despite feeling like I was barely holding it together. If you're in a similar situation, I understand, I have been there, and I promise it will get better. It's hard to say how long it will take, but I liked to try and remember that, 'One day longer, one day stronger' and I'm sending you a BIG HUG, where ever you are.
And, in other news, tonight is the night I go pick up my boots I'm having altered at the shoe repair! I vlogged about it last week, and he said they would be ready today. I took a bunch of (nice/good quality pictures, ie. not with my iPhone) photos of the boots before I dropped them off so will be able to show you the before and after! I'm a little nervous, chopping off two inches of a wedge heel is kind of a big deal, but I'm optimisitc they will look great--and I will be able to wear them without coming in at 6'5.
Additionally, I'm going to do some shopping tonight with a girl friend in search of a dress for her to wear to an upcoming wedding, so that will be fun and am definitely looking forward to that. Tomorrow will be birthday celebrations with a group of girls for a friend's birthday and I'm uber excited for Saturday as I'm taking a photography class to learn how to work the DSLR camera I'm using! Bring on the weekend, I'm ready for ya.
Hope you're having a good day, and to those who aren't, do something that makes you happy tonight, if you can. Last night I painted my nails and while this is something I do on the regular, I don't enjoy it, however, I'm really enjoying the results of it today; a small thing putting a smile on my face.
If you could only choose 5 of your pairs of shoes, which would you choose!? I went into my closet and had a hard time narrowing it down to just five, but came up with set I'm fairly happy with.
I tag all of you to do this & leave a comment & link down below if you do as I'd love to see.

Thanks for watching!
Since Fall has come in with a bang, now is the perfect time to show you how to distress your denim shorts.
Not.
I took these photos a couple months ago but sat on editing them forever. Well, here we are, almost halfway into September and I'm finally getting this up. That said, you can still rock your denim shorts with some tights (are we still feeling that look?) or have them ready-set-go for your upcoming tropical vacation.
Read on to find out how I did mine...
Mine: Colbretti men's jeans from Value Village ($6)
And of course a shot of me wearing them:
Friday night was a really special night; mine & Marco's one year anniversary. I got dressed up and he took me out on the town.
Outfit deets: Smart Set blazer (new), A.Co Designs top, American Apparel liquid leggings, H by Halston heels, vintage clutch (from a garage sale) & Suzy Shier necklace.
We went to Town and had an amazing meal. These were our shared appetizers: crab cakes & a pork something-or-other (I'm so technical, clearly). Needless to say, they were delicious. We shared entrée plates after and had the meatballs and another pork dish. It was so satisfying and enjoyable. The music they played was on point too (perfect house meets electronica, think JMSN meets Klangkarussell meets Dpat and in between. And if you don't know who any of those are, you're missing out and need to look them up on Soundcloud stat).
We sat at the weirdest table, at the back of the restaurant, side-by-side looking into the kitchen. At first it felt a little awkward, but it quickly felt special and like we had our own private viewing to the chef's in action. Afterwards, we went to Starbucks to grab coffee, tea and desserts to take home and indulge in.
Saturday early afternoon cheering on my man and team in their softball tournament (they lost, unfortunately).
Outfit deets: Ardène flats & Almost Famous jeans.
I picked up Peanut in the afternoon to come for a sleep-over. My parents went out of town and asked if I could take her, several months back, and the weekend finally arrived. We had a nice time cuddling but she's getting so old, deaf and has a mild case of Alheizmers so she barks and lot and isn't as mobile as she used to be. Still, she's completely adorable and I love her to bits. I'll be devastated when she passes away as she's been with us for 13 years.
I made some 'gourmet' chicken salad and bought some artisan olive bread. I ate almost the entire loaf to myself by the end of the weekend so feel a little yucky. No more gluten until next weekend, back to some fresher-clean eating for the work week.
Chicken salad mix: boil two large chicken breasts, once cooked, shred them and mix with mayo, pepper & red peppers in bowl. Serve on a croissant or special bread. The consistency should be chunky and hearty.

Sunday morning gym sesh and I 'splurged' on a protein shake afterwards. They are just over $6 so I don't get one often, but sometimes a little reward is nice, plus it's so freakin' delicious.
I took Peanut home on Sunday morning and had a nice visit with my parent's, then headed to Marco's for dinner & Dexter. I wore my first Fall outfit of the year, which carries some mixed emotions. I always feel like Fall is too short and by the time I get into it, I really haven't had much of a chance to sport all the looks I wanted to rock. On the flip side, summer. don't. go. WAH.
Outfit deets: Winners jacket (old), Zara sweater over H&M sheer/opaque tee over H&M tunic tank (super layering!), Urban Planet sheen leggings, Ardène pashmina & Ash booties.
