I'll be honest, when I first saw these, I wasn't their biggest fan.  That said, I thought they were really on-trend as far as d'orsay flats go, the snakeskin print makes them unique, and the price was right.  Sometimes I will push myself, fashion-wise, to step outside the box; case in point, recent overalls.

It often results in things you would normally pass up, but then end up loving and being ahead of the fashion curve.  Wins all around!

These are grown up flats with an edge that I think will end up being a neutral staple in my wardrobe for work and weekends.  And if the snakeskin print isn't up your alley, they come in black as well.

Aldo, Ceriwiel  $110  sale $74.95

If you've seen my most recent haul video, you've already seen these beauties, but since I've slowed down on the shoe purchasing, it's fun to showcase new purchases in their own blog post.

Cut-outs are a huge trend for this Spring and I knew I had to scoop these up when I saw them.  I would say they are true to size and I purchased a size 10.  I love how they look with black skinnies but am looking forward to pairing them with skirts and bare legs soon.

I first saw these leather lace-up heels at Le Cheateau last May (here's proof: I debated purchasing them and asked for your advice on Instagram).  I decided to walk away from them, against almost everyone's advice, but haven't stopped thinking about them since--and almost regretted not buying them.

Since last year's lace-up trend seems to be going strong for this year, the hunt continued.  When I popped into Le Chateau the other night, I was shocked to see these on the sale rack (for $35, versus the regular $100).  I laughingly asked the sales girl to check for my size, knowing full well it was a lost cause...

And then she came back.

With a box.

In my size.

Gasp!

I put them on, again, and pranced around the store knowing they were coming home with me for sure, no questions asked.  I wore them the very next day and can't wait for warmer weather to rock them with some bare legs.  And, if you want to grab a pair for yourself, the website still has them in the nude-blush colour.  Woohoo!

I have been debating this purchase for a little over a year and am so happy I finally bit the bullet!  I wasn't sure if I needed a pair of Chucks in my life or not--my sister fully supported this purchase--but when still thinking about these a year later, it's safe to say I do.

While out shopping, I hadn't intended to pick these up, but while walking towards SoftMoc I knew I should try them on again (since I had done this song and dance a year ago).  I grabbed the Chucks and the Dainty version too (in white), and asked the sales associate to check for my size.

Success!  In both pairs.

I pranced around the store, going back and forth between the two, but I knew where my heart laid--plus the Dainty are more narrow and girlfriend has a wide foot.  Say no more, the rest is history and here we are today, living in perfect, prancing harmony.  I'm ready for you denim skirts & sunshine.

I feel like almost everyone & their mother owns these Zara beauties from last summer and I specifically made a point not to purchase them--not because I didn't want them, simply because I didn't need them.

Well, enter Zara semi-annual sale and one pair left in my size for $19.99.

SOLD!

And so, these sweet sandals came home with me.  That said, if you're still hung up on them, there are still a bunch kicking around on eBay and while you'll pay a pretty penny unlike myself, you'll likely end up with a pair without a pen mark on the back side... unlike myself.

* I know I shared these in my Weekend Snaps, but I feel all new shoes--that are pretty enough--deserve their own post.
* Here is this year's version of the sandal, with a slightly thicker heel.

I used to do a ton of shoe shopping, inexpensive pairs, several at a time.  Lately though, I've been more thoughtful about the shoes I buy and often go for a little higher end.

That said, I have blown all that out of the water with these four pairs I recently picked up from my old stomping grounds, GoJane.  I will list all the names and links to the shoes below so you can grab them for yourself if you wish.

Also, do you guys prefer to see the shoes like this or actually on my feet?  Is there a preference?  Happy shopping.

From top:
Yellow oversized buckle wedge  |  so similar to my Louboutins, with the addition of the Gucci-like buckle, I'm in heaven over these.
Black oversized buckle wedge
Black pointy cuffed up heel  |  a knock-off of the Zara ones I purchased and returned several months ago.  These are actually easier to walk in, but the ankle detail isn't as nice.
Teal snake it up ankle strap heel  |  I can't get enough of ankle straps.  Hoping to take these on vacation with me if I go somewhere warm.

I'm still playing catch up from the Christmas holidays, and have lots to share, I hope you don't mind things are a bit out of order.

Here's what I purchased on Boxing Day.  I debated whether I would battle the crowds on the 26th and eventually decided I wouldn't…. until after I slept in, felt rested and Marco offered to drop me off at the mall.  Who could say no to that?!

I spent just over two hours poking around, taking my time and trying to be patient.  That said, my irritation grew quite quickly and I've come to realize I just can't handle the crowds+shopping like I used to!  I did however score a few things which was the perfect compromise between acquiring some new items and not spending too much money.

Vero Moda:
* Y.A.S. blazer (50% off)
* Jersey skirt (50% off)

The Bay:
* Expressions ring; in medium and large for different fingers (40% off)
* Material Girl cuff (40% off)

Aldo, Baulch  $90  sale $59.98

New shoes that I picked up a couple weeks ago when they were an additional 25% off the price they are now.  Sorry, they didn't arrive in the mail in time to share the discount but they are still a great price.  I love the straight edge heel, the fact that it's not too high and the pointy toe is not too long.  As an added bonus, they are pretty comfy and easy to walk in.  They definitely fit true to size.  Happy shopping!

Look what just arrived in the mail!  I ordered these back in August after coveting them all. summer. long. but they've been sold out since Spring.  I would check back every week and submitted my email twice to be notified if they came back in stock.

So, really late one evening, I was in bed and decided to quickly check my email as a last distraction before falling asleep, and in came the email, 'Romy, back in stock!'  I did a little squeal, jumped out of bed and whipped open my laptop.

I actually debated for a solid 30 minutes if I should actually make the purchase; I felt a little guilty, to be honest.  However, I found a promo code and ended up hitting the purchase button.  Unfortunately, they took over a month to get here and now it's flipping cold and I need a pedicure.   Oh well, still stoked to have them and if I get sick of the nude colour, or they get dirty, I plan to paint them olive green or black with fabric paint.

* I promised myself I would practice my photography 15 minutes a day and it's been four days since my course and I hadn't practised once.  I must have taken 40 frames to get these two shots and I still don't know how to fix the yellow-ness of the majority of the photos I got, but these two turned out okay.

Happy Thursday!

New shoes!  I love sharing my purchases on here with you guys because (a) it's fun, and (b) it's a great way for me to keep track of when I bought something and to always link back to this where you can find the link to purchase it yourself.

I had my eye on these heels for months and saw I Am Khatu & Rosie wearing theirs--in nude--when I finally decided to pull the trigger...and I'm so glad I did.

When I first purchased these, as I mentioned in my haul video, I thought they were going to be uber uncomfortable as they don't have a lot of give; I was wrong.  They are quite comfortable and I can walk for a long time in them.  The only qualm is they might be a tad big.  I ordered a 10 and maybe could have sized down to a 9.5.  It's not tragic, my foot just flops a bit when I walk, but the ankle strap keeps it in my place anyways.

Speaking of the ankle strap, it should be noted it's slightly roomier than I'd expect.  I'd say my ankles are average--and I definitely don't have cankles--but the strap is quite loose.  I like the look, but for sturdiness, it's just a bit looser.  Nothing to prevent one from ordering them though, I absolutely love these shoes!

When I saw these brand new kick-ass hi-tops at The Bay on Sunday I picked them up, looked them over and thought to myself about how much I liked them.  I turned them over, saw the price, and walked away.

Oddly enough, Tuesday night I was still thinking about them, which surprised me; I really wanted these shoes.  I had a gift card for The Bay, so I called, put my size on hold and made them mine.

Note: these shoes run super big.  I'm always a size 10--and somtimes an 11 at places like Aldo--but I actually sized down to an eight.  What!

Yay!  They have arrived.

I bit the bullet and purchased the Prabal Gurung, Ankle Strap Sandal (remember when I was coveting them HERE?) and am quite pleased.  I purchased them through eBay and the seller, Ann, was great to deal with.  At first, I accidentally bid on the wrong size with three minutes left in the auction; I got excited and clearly thought I was bidding on my size--duh.

Needless to say, I won the auction and then realized they were a size too small.  I decided to take a stab in the dark and emailed the seller to see if she would be willing to cancel the sale as I purchase the wrong size but figured I'd be on the hook to pay and didn't expect much.

As luck would have it, she happened to have a size 10 for sale and said she would simply swap them and send me the correct size!  She was so sweet and I am so fortunate.  She's based out of the US too, which I like--and they arrived within a week.

I'm on a huge strappy sandal kick right now.  I've been wearing my Zara heels non-stop--which is kind of unlike me as I like to rotate through my shoes, if possible--and now I just need a black pair to complete my summer collection and I'll be good.  Haha.

Want to snatch up a pair for yourself?  There are loads of them on eBay right now HERE.

Expressions necklace, $30

I'm so excited about my new necklace that I picked up this weekend at The Bay.  While I will be showcasing this in my upcoming vlog, I wanted to share it here anyways because it's just so freakin' awesome.  I'm loving big, chunky, shorter necklaces right now and have been on the hunt for them.  When I saw this, despite the slightly steep price tag, I had to have it.

Unfortunately it's not on The Bay's website right now, but you can find all the Expression jewelery HERE.

Weekend recap coming up this afternoon!

I found them!  I bought them!

After over a month of debating over 'the perfect' nude strappy sandal, I finally decided on these Zara buckle heels, almost immediately when I saw them.  They are the perfect heel height--not too high, but high enough to make your legs look good--and possess a thick ankle strap (my fave!) and a skinny strap across the toes.  The clincher was the price as they were a solid $40 cheaper than most styles I saw.  They also come in black & red.

I'm wearing them today and love them so much!  They are fine to walk in and definitely true to size (I ordered a 41, which is a US 10, as per the box) and I know I'm going to get my money's worth.  Now, to find the perfect black pair (at a reasonable price).

Black & white shorts, $29  |  Printed pants, $29 (did not purchase)

Since purchasing my car, I've been on a much (much!) tighter budget, which I knew would be the case and is ultimately worth it because I'm driving my dream car, but sometimes sucks too because man do I love to shop.

I've hit up Joe Fresh a couple times in the past few weeks and actually took pictures of the stuff I tried on to share with you all.  I definitely could have bought more, but I had to pick my very favourites as I could not afford everything.

From left to right:
* Floral dress, $39:  I loved this one but it was the only one in the store and a size too big.  It looks okay in the pictures but I'm holding it up on my hip with my hand and while I love a flowy look, this was just too paper-bag princess.
* Racerback neon tank, $8:  I purchased this in a size small and love it for working out.  I love wearing colour when I hit the gym.
* Flowy neon tank, $8:  I bought this one in a size large because I wanted it to be flowy.  I love the hot pink colour and it's kind of a heathered fabric.  I brought it with me to Mexico and dressed it up with a striped skirt.
* Men's neon sweater, sale $6.94:  My plan was to cut out the neckline (to make it into a boatneck) and bunch up the sleeves, but once I had it on, I didn't love it so I left it.

* Paisley printed shorts, $19: these were cute, and came in navy as well.  However, once I put them on (after trying to shorts above), I was not loving them.  They started to grow on me but I was kind of in between sizes, to be honest and my bestie wasn't a huge fan either.  I'm on the fence and may go back for them.
* Black pocket tee, $14:  I like this, a lot--it also comes in ivory and grey--but I have so much black and need to be choosy with where I spend my money (but secretly I want to go back and get it!).

Left to right:
* My own outfit with an old Joe Fresh jacket.
* Striped boatneck top, $14:  I really liked this pink stripe top (that also comes in grey/white and navy/white) that has a low scoop in the back.  This is a size medium and I like the fit (which was surprising, I thought I'd want a large) but I wasn't totally sold.  I always look at it when I visit Joe Fresh though, it's cute.

I've only had these new wedges for a couple weeks but have already worn them many times.  I picked them up in black too and can tell you they are going to be a summer fave!

I recently discovered a website called Everbuying (similar to eBay, without the bidding) as I was looking to purchase a battery-pack style charger for my iPhone.

Well whaddayouknow, they sell clothes too!

Of course they are from China, and teeny tiny which is why I'm currently wishing I was a petite Asian so I could fit into the dress above (wah wah; plus it's more like a shirt on me #tallgirlproblems).  Sadly, all three items that I ordered aren't exactly the best fit despite purchasing size large for everything.

That said, I thought I would share with you what I picked up because the pieces are really fashion-y and cool, for cheap cheap cheap.  And THIS is the charger for my iPhone that I picked up a couple months ago aswell.

* I love this jacket and while the shoulder fit is a little wonky, the body is roomy so I'm going to make it work.  Such a chic, unique looking piece, especially for the price.

(button-less with buckles on sleeves)

* This jacket is quite snug but there are two darts in the back that I'm going to let out to give me more room to wrap it arond me.  My mannequin's waist is smaller than mine but I'm hoping with letting the darts out, it will then look like this on me.

This is not a sponsored post, I simply went shopping & am sharing.
