I love, love, love the holidays and one of my favourite parts is the parties!  I have a few lined up for the season already, including a girls night in with Christmas Sangria (it was a pajama party last year) and of course the annual Secret Santa that we host here.

That said, we all know how much work goes into party planning, and at this extra special time of year, I like to gift the hostess with a little something.  Imagine spending weeks planning a party and having your girlfriends show up with a little sumthin' sumthin' upon arrival?  I mean, who wouldn't love that.

Of course, it doesn't have to be expensive, just thoughtful, but I tend to keep it between $10 to $30, so I've put together a bunch of my favourite things to give (and get!) for your favourite hostess.  I will also be putting together more gift guides as we get deeper into the season, so if there is anything you'd like to see, please let me know!

The weekend has come and gone and it was a good one.  I had Friday off, so my weekend began Thursday night; I hit the gym, went home and relaxed.  My bestie and I actually had tickets to see Amy Schumer, but the concert has been postponed due to illness so, I took it easy instead.

SWEATER (ALSO HERE & HERE)

Happy Saturday!  What are your plans for the weekend?  I'm so excited because Marco has been away all week for work and today he comes home!  Tomorrow we are celebrating my bestie's second babe, he's turning one, and otherwise some serious R & R.

Last night, I hit up Marshalls and found this amazing lace up sweater, which is actually available online right now.  If you're in Ottawa, it's at the Trainyards location for $59.

Venice was that one city I was on the fence about--it seemed silly not to go there, being in Italy, and not checking it out last time, but I just wasn't... sold.

Cue the moment we stepped out of the train station: sold.

Something about being surrounded by so much water, the vastness of it and the fact that the city was built on it, was just so incredible.

O U T F I T  D E T A I L S  :  BLUSH SWEATER (SIMILARSIMILAR, SIMILAR)  |  BRALETTE (SIMILAR, SIMILAR)  |  F21 CHOKER  |  SUNGLASSES  |  DARK DENIM SKINNIES  |  OVER THE KNEE BOOTS (SIMILAR, SIMILAR)  |  BAG (BUDGET FRIENDLY)

I'll be honest, I wasn't super sure I'd get a ton of use out of these boots--they are beautiful, but they are not black or tan.  That said, I've already styled them with a dress and in a fun way for fall with a hat and scarf, and that's just on the blog.  Plus, when I started hunting around for similar pairs to share with you girls, there are so many burgundy options out there, these were definitely a great purchase.

This look makes me think of date night, or Valentine's Day--I love mixing pinks and reds, and this is a little easier with the blush and burgundy.  It's soft and pretty, but the denim keeps it grounded.  Also, since this sweater (which is now sold out--I'm sorry!) has such a deep v, I paired it with a bralette which is way prettier if it happens to peek out, plus really comfortable.  I wouldn't say it's the route you'd want to take if you're looking to create major cleavage, but I prefer the subtlety of it when you're showing a lot of skin.
