On Friday night I took the redeye home from Vegas.  Ugh, what a crappy time to travel.  It was the first time I have done this and I knew it would suck, but it kind of just screws up your entire system.  I left Vegas after 11pm, with a stop over in New Jersey at 7am, and then home from there.  I walked in the door just before noon.

That said, Vegas was a really nice getaway and I enjoyed the time off.  I am usually really sad when trips come to an end but this was a first where I was happy I went, and kind of excited to come home.

I spent all of Saturday afternoon napping and doing laundry.  Marco and I grabbed Pho around 10pm but I forgot to snap a photo.

Sunday morning we slept in till 11am but it was technically only 8am Vegas time (haha).

Friday night I hit the gym after work and then decided to take a little trip out to Orleans to start my shopping for my next video.  I found a few things, but this jumper was not one of them.  Being tall has plenty of downfalls, one of them being it almost impossible to find rompers that are long enough in the body!

Jumpsuit:  Dynamite

Saturday morning.

Saturday morning at the gym (I went on Friday night too with a friend, but no photos of that).

The fog was so thick on Saturday morning we could barely see the street below.  And in other news, we are still waiting on our new couch to arrive (three months down...).

Outfit deets:  Ardene tee, Garage skirt, Converse shoes, MK watch & Le Chateau cuff.
Went out and ran some errands during the afternoon--since the weather is finally beautiful, I grabbed a skirt, my Partier tee and Chucks for a casual but still chic look (that was comfortable for running around in).

A few weeks ago I won a giveaway from Ardene on Lena's blog and my goodies arrived on Friday!  A new outfit for the gym that I got to pick out!

I chose this black windbreaker, cool geo-printed leggings and a hot pink racer-back tank.  They also sent over a black sports bra which is sadly too big so I'm hoping I can exchange it at the store.  I couldn't wear to try out my new clothes and hit the gym on Friday after work.  See without the coat here.

After the gym I grabbed some groceries and went home and made spaghetti with sausage, garlic bread for us.  Such a good meal and my first pasta dish in months (random).

On Saturday morning we hit the gym and then headed home and Marco made breakfast.
Outfit deets:  Bench jacket, La Senza workout tank (from when they had a workout line years ago), Walmart leggings, Converse sneakers & Lululemon bag.

On Friday I got a special delivery to work--12 long stemmed roses!  This isn't the first time my guy has sent flowers for no reason, but it sure never loses it's touch.

I got home from work, cracked a beer and relaxed.  We ended up just unpacking and working on the condo before crashing.  We had our entertainment stand delivered on wednesday so we could finally unpack the massive pile of boxes in our living room and stow away all electronics.

On Saturday morning we hit the gym and went to breakfast.

Then came home and spent all afternoon cleaning, unpacking, organizing and shoving crap into every nook and cranny we could find.  My family was coming for Mothers' Day brunch on Sunday so that seriously lit a fire under our butts to get it all done (especially with the entertainment unit here too).

I snapped this shot of our bedroom in the afternoon; we are lucky with the cool view of the water.

A sneak peek at my new closet--I spent many hours last week after work and on Friday night unpacking the multiple boxes piled in the second bedroom.  Try to figure out where to put what, buying new hangers for skirts (not shown) as I've always folded them, and much more.

While the other side of the room still has a few unpacked boxes, things are finally coming together and since my guy's parents were coming on Saturday, I had some serious fire under my butt to get organized.

Saturday afternoon.
Outfit deets:  F21 jacket, Garage cardigan, H&M low back tank, Seduction denim, Qupid boots, Deux  Lux bag, Ardene pashmina & Alfred Sung shades.

After work on Friday I headed out to Fabricland and Sally...
Outfit deets:  Winners weater, Silver denim & Shoemint Romy heels.

I picked up three fabrics: two floral chiffon prints to make kimonos, and a white rayon-blend for a low-back tank.  Additionally, today is the last day of Fabricland's anniversary sale where everything is 40% off.

I got home and I made sweet potato fries to snack on until Marco got home.

I filmed a video with my new pie maker and they turned out so good.

Later on, I gave myself a mani & (French) pedi with these newbies.

Outfit deets:  Joshua Perets hoodie & Walmart leggings.
On Saturday I woke up and felt awful; sore throat, headache and awful congestion.  I felt so awful we had to cancel our plans with our friends for dinner that evening.

On Thursday after work I met with Serena and we shot some outfits (will be sharing a cool two-ways to wear post tomorrow) before I retreated home to take care of a sick boyfriend.

I made Thai chicken lettuce wraps--again--for myself and...

...picked up pizza later on for my guy.

Hello!  I'm back home after a great week in Punta Cana.  It's good to be home but was pretty sad to leave our home-away-from-home of the past week.  It took me a good four-ish days to settle into vacation mode which then felt like it was time to come back;  still wonderful to get away and enjoy some warmth, though.

I'll be sharing vacation photos this week, including iPhone snaps, outfits, and more.  First up, photos from my iPhone--a week recap, if you will.  No explanation necessary, I don't think, I'll just let the photos speak for themselves...

On Friday night I went shopping and tried on a ton of stuff at Forever 21 (including this jumper), Zara and Urban Outfitters.  I bought two boring grey tanks and found nothing I was actually looking for.

I went back to Home Sense on my lunch break on Friday to grab these Tahari sheets.  We have a friend staying at our place while we are away and since we only have one sheet set, I knew there wouldn't be enough time at 4am to strip the bed, wash and dry the sheets and re-make it.  So I washed these in advance and Marco made the bed before we flew out.

I was starving when I got home so I made some roasted heirloom carrots & sweet potato fries with sea salt.

Saturday morning at the gym.

Then we went to Chuck's Deli for lunch which was so delicious, per usual.

Sunday afternoon was spent procrastinating and looking for a few new clothing items to take with me to Punta Cana, instead of cleaning the condo and packing.  I went to Fabricland in search of fabric to make myself a kimono and liked this purple-white-floral one.  I didn't end up purchasing it--I wouldn't have had time to make it beforehand--but might go back for it when I get home.

After spending several hours at home cleaning, I showered and headed out to another mall.  I ended up scoring this cool feather-print kimono from Sirens.  I went to two Sirens this past week and saw all their kimonos and just wasn't sold--I must have missed this one and scooped it up for $15.

Late night thai take-out.

Time to go!  Instead of going to bed and getting up at 4am, I stayed up until Sunday morning packing, cleaning and blogging.
Friday afternoon and evening it rained and rained.  It was such a nice change from the snow and it even got quite mild.  I spent the evening in, made a stir fry and relaxed.

Unfortunately the mild weather was short lived because we woke up to a snowstorm on Saturday morning (ugh).

I whipped up some raspberry chia seed jam--my second batch--to stir into my greek yogurt.

Saturday morning gym sesh (chest), then it was onto lunch...

More after the jump...
I think my weekend snaps are getting longer and longer, so if there is a bit of a photo-overload, I'm going to start putting the majority after the jump--hope this is okay with you?

This weekend was busy and I still haven't finished unpacking--ugh, I'm such a procrastinator.  I got home from work on Friday night and cracked a beer stat; not my normal routine but I just wanted to get into weekend mode and relax.  I made a snack and surfed the web while waiting for Marco to come home.

We decided to go to the gym super late on Friday night, like 10pm guys, which seems a little crazy but I had convinced Marco to hang curtains, a mirror and artwork up in the condo on the condition that we would work out (tee hee, compromise).

The gym was pretty busy, surprisingly, but it was kind of nice going together and kicking off the weekend on a healthy note (post beer, of course).  I'm often moaning and groaning about going to the gym but I try to think of it as something we do together (a type of date, if you will), and being active, healthy and fit is something I like making a priority.

Looking at the picture above is a little surreal--my shoulders and arms?!  I am actually seeing muscle definition (when flexing) for the first time in my life, which is crazy... now if only my abs would catch up!

We went for a late night dinner at a Pho spot, it was almost midnight by the time we ate.  I ordered a beef-rice-egg-salad plate (my first time not ordering Pho) and it totally hit the spot.

Finally!  Curtains in our bedroom.  I didn't want to do a two-tone, and really wanted the silvery grey curtains to work but the window is too big for two panels, and those ones let the light in (more decorative, than anything).

I was looking for curtains to block the light so we used these two black panels I had from my apartment (and the grey ones fill the gap in the middle).  It was glorious sleeping in on Saturday without bright sunlight waking me up!

Saturday morning--a selfie in the newly hung mirror (yipee!).
Outfit deets:  H&M tee, 'Serena' by Mavi denim, Kate Spade necklace (birthday gift) & MK watch (old Christmas gift).

More after the jump...
Before the weekend came, Emily surprised me by sending flowers to my work--all the way from Florida--for my birthday!  I got them on a super snowy day and it was the sweetest, most thoughtful gesture.

On Friday morning I went into work and my friend had put up some birthday decorations and there were a couple cards and a gift waiting for me.  It really brightened my morning.  Would anyone be interested in seeing what I got for my birthday?  Perhaps a separate post to share that?

Friday evening I did some shopping at the mall--but purchased nothing--and had dinner with Marco.  It was a super low key evening, exactly what we both needed, topped off with an episode of Banshee.

Saturday was my birthday so we started the morning off right at the gym--which helped to feel good all day long and when I got dressed for the evening's party (and for the treats I ate).

We came back to the condo and Marco surprised me by making eggs benedict for the first time.  So good!  An awesome first breakfast in my 30's.

Marco went out during the afternoon to run around and collect supplies and food for the evening festivities.  He came back with a beautiful bouquet of balloons!  Balloons are so fun to get, and you can enjoy them for a few weeks too--what a treat!

Marco planned a birthday party for me at our new place, but in the party room--which was awesome because our place really isn't ready, or up to my standards, to show people yet.  Plus, no pre-cleaning required and plenty of room to fit everyone with ample seating.  This is what I wore and you can see a full body shot on Instagram.
Outfit deets:  Mexx cardigan, Urban Planet top, H&M faux leather leggings, Liliana wedges & Smart Set necklace.

My friend Lindsay's fiancĂ© made me a pecan pie!  She poured through my blog to discover my favourite pie, and he made it; a joint effort.  It was so good.

A beautiful Kate Spade 'Hello Sunshine' necklace from a friend; I never want to take this off.

Sunday morning, feeling pretty good--and not hung over--I went to the gym.

Then back to the condo for another breakfast by Marco.  Two thumbs up.

I spent all afternoon filming my next Place d'Orleans video.  It took me about three hours to film, and another six to edit; needless to say, bedtime came after midnight.

I took a quick break to run downstairs.

The set-up for the shoe shots; looks like someone has the photography itch.
