Friday night I made Epic Fish Tacos for Marco, as a surprise, and greeted him at the door with a bottle of beer, which went over really well.  The dinner turned out really well and I made everything from scratch--well, except the tortillas.

Saturday morning was brunch with my family and some shopping.  Later on though, we went out for Sri Lankan food--a first for me--with Marco's best girl friend.
Outfit deets:  Dynamite jacket (old), American Apparel leather-look leggings, Aldo cross-body / clutch, Ardene shoes & Joe Fresh circle scarf.

After dinner, the three of us headed to a friend's place for a UFC watching party which involved tons of food, an impromptu game of limbo that was caught on video (notice I am the limbo stick), beer, swapping specs & of course, UFC.

Sunday morning I slept in big time and took a slow start to the day.  I went to the gym…

…and then out to breakfast with my main squeeze.

I sent Sunday afternoon doing a bit of shopping but the evening was uber quiet and relaxing and chilling with this furry friend #eveyabish

Sunday evening chicken fajitas (we love Mexican food!).

I'm very excited to finally share with you what I've been keeping for all these months: I have started up my Style Consulting business, in Ottawa.

I have been working with clients and am excited to share with you a variety of packages and options to help you maneuver your closet, put outfits together for day-to-day life or special occassions, personal shopping and in general, help you get dressed.

Helping people look and feel good is a passion of mine; I get excited to help others shop and find pieces for their wardrobe--almost as if I'm shopping for myself. I love how simply looking put together can help a world of a difference in feeling great.

I want to help you feel great.

If you're not sure where to start, I have a few different packages to choose from, if you're interested...
Outfit deets:
* Seduction jeans (old) which you've seen with a black oxford and wedges.
* Spring boots (from last year) which I've worn to death and refuse to give up because (1) they are so comfy, (2) totally my style, and (3) hidden wedge with an option to wear the boot shaft up or rolled down like seen here.  Love love love them--they were my go-to last winter every weekend.  Get a better look at them this time last year not folded down with magenta skinnies.
* Accessories:  Garage fingerless gloves (new!), Spring headband (new!) & Aeropostale circle scarf (new!).

It's almost Friday, it's almost the weekend!  Picture me singing that because I'm so excited to sleep in and do whatever I want for a couple days in a row.

I stopped by H&M tonight and was seriously disappointed the Isabel Marant for H&M collection is apparently not coming to Ottawa.  What?  Dislike.  That said, I meandered around and tried on six things and walked away with something I was actually looking for: a snug, black dress with sleeves.  I pinned a picture recently of an inspiring photo and found an almost identical dress--for $15  (hello)  so naturally I bought it.

Normally I don't go for tight, tight, tight, but this was an exception and inexpensive so less guilt.  I can't find the actual dress on the H&M website but it also comes in navy (they didn't have my size or she would have come home with me too) and orange.

And in other news, these photos were taken during filming of my most recent video, Bundling Up (for winter).  Some of the pictures came out so I thought I'd share them on here as an outfit post--why not.

Layer your dresses:
For look #1, I grabbed two dresses from my closet, this recently purchased colour-blocked navy/cobalt dress from Smart Set & a charcoal turtleneck sweater dress.  I layered the warm knit under the boxy shift for interest and warmth.  I threw on a faux leather blazer and my trusty Aldo wedge boots to finish off the look.
If you want to take your layering one step further, try a pair of patterned tights over your opaque ones.  Both my pairs are black but you could get creative with different shades if you wanted a less subtle effect.

Pair something casual with something dressy:
For look #2 I grabbed this Le Chateau silk blouse and paired it with a chunky, short-sleeved cardigan I've had for a while in my closet.  I always felt this sweater could only be worn casually but I've taken this look to office appropriate with the heels and jewelery.

Layer your accessories:
Stay warm and look chic in look #3 where I'm pairing my new fingerless gloves from Garage, layered over a pair of regular gloves.  This would work with mitts as well; feel free to mix in some colour to offer dimension & interest.  Not only does this look cool, it adds extra warmth in the winter.

On Friday night I headed out to my parent's place to celebrate my brother-in-law's 30th birthday.  Obviously I had to get a pic with this little girl.

Saturday morning breakfast out after hitting the gym.

On Saturday afternoon I did a little shopping and ran some errands and it snowed.  No joke.  I kid you not.  I wish I was.  Snow.  Ick.

Outfit deets:  Banana Republic dress (old), Report Signature shoes (old), Givenchy nude fishnets & Aldo clutch (old).

On Saturday night, my Grandfather invited Marco and I to a special dinner for his lodge.  It was held at a conference facility, so think banquet style for dinner and a DJ for dancing later. It was a group of about 100 and a really nice meal and evening with them.  And, there were prizes for ladies only and while every woman won a prize--mine was a super soft micro fleece blanket--I won a second prize, a $50 gift card to The Keg--so exciting!

On our way home, we stopped by a house-warming party for a friend and indulged in amazing food and wine.  I snapped this shot at the end of the night when I was back in my jacket (which is vintage and thrifted a couple years ago).

Sunday morning gym sesh; I don't normally wear long sleeves except when I (1) need to do laundry or (2) want to cover up a bit--note the short shorts and super fair skin?  Someone needs a spray tan… someone is also being a little lazy lately.

I spent Sunday afternoon working with a client.  We did a closet purge and styled over 20 outfits.  Then we went shopping to help build her wardrobe with pieces she needed.
Outfit deets:  Mexx cardigan (old), Winners top, Urban Planet leggings (new!) & Aldo boots.

I had Monday off for Remembrance Day and went to the gym in the morning and came home and had some breakfast.  Later I used what I had in my fridge to make some lunch: spinach with a maple balsamic dressing and grilled veggies (peppers, red onion & sweet potato).  I lounged around and eventually got ready as I had a couple errands to run but was feeling crummy.  I went out and just started to feel worse and was home within two hours of leaving.

On my way home, I quickly grabbed some groceries and made fajitas for myself for dinner.  I devoured them and got in bed for 8:30pm feeling pretty terrible.

And the video I filmed last weekend has gone live and it's all about bundling up for winter so if you haven't seen it, go check it out HERE.

Happy Tuesday!
