We went and did something special on Thursday night with our amazing friend LT.  We went to a small town outside the city and she had all these great places scouted out.  We spent more than an hour there, which really flew by.  Can't wait to see the end product!  After wards, the fiancé and I walked around the little village and grabbed some good ol' fashioned ice cream ... in waffle cones, non the less, before heading back to the city.

* Special thanks to Kate who featured me in
her Top 10 Bloggers for the 'I Heart Blogs!' day!

Meet Sarah from the blog, 'For the Love...'.  This seriously crafty mom has stolen my heart.  I found her blog a mere, oh, two weeks ago, maybe, and was instantly hooked.  Not only is she amazing at DIY's, stylish, thrifty, super kind & a hair stylist - she's gorgeous!

Sarah was so sweet to help me out in looking for some suggestions for my upcoming nuptuals.  She has given me tons of cool ideas to incorporate into our big day, and, she blogged about it!

Gap cardigan, Sirens top, H&M skirt, Aldo pumps (last seen here),
Ardène necklace, Swatch watch (last seen here) & Michael Kors bracelet

We all know that these are my non-wedding shoes now, so, that gives me free reine to wear them whenever I want.  Someone suggested I return them, but that's not gonna happen, I love them too much.  Someone else commented also saying (more like screeching), 'Howwww on earrrrrth do you waaalk in those shooooes?!'  I told them practice makes perfect.  Eat it.

One more thing, I've been wanting to shoot by this building for some time, it's super close to the graffiti wall, but everytime I went by, there were tons of people around, making it quite awkward to bust out a photo shoot.  This day wasn't much different but I said, 'F-it' and shot away.  Who cares!

When I saw Lena's post, I was immediately inspired.  While thrifting later that week, I actually came across these awesome (men's) Silver jeans.  I used to be a total sucker for Silver jeans when I was younger - they were my absolute favourite.  Now, they don't exactly do much for my body type, but I'll always have love.  The men's version, on the other hand, were exactly what I was looking for though: great wash, thick waistband, large back pockets and a fab distressed look ... in my size!  The woman at the cash confirmed they were men's jeans to ensure I still wanted them - ha, that's why I wanted them!

After washing and drying the jeans, I went at them with the scissors to create the perfect denim cut offs.

The length was still a little too long so...

...I cut 'em shorter

That's better

Next I cut slits on the sides

Then frayed them up with a knife and scissors along the raw edge
(once they are washed, they will fray more)

Voila!

PS - I know I'm so behind on all your blogs, and I'm sorry I've been a little MIA
(the wedding is sucking me dry ... blah blah blah, I know, I know ...)
