A.Co Designs circle vest, Sirens top, F21 shorts, Bamboo gladiators, Bay bangle & Hot Diamonds ring

The weather here is unreal right now.  With temperatures soaring into the 40's (Celcius) with the humidex, it's hard to be outside and not break a sweat ... standing still!  I met up with the the girls on the weekend for breakfast and chatter.  We dined al fresco (love it) and had a great time.  I certainly got some sun, and although I was adament on applying the sunscreen (I carry it in my bag), the top of my head and my upper legs got a little toasted.  New goal: start keeping a hat with me.

Psssst - I got these shorts on my shopping trip back in May.

{ I made this and sell them for $25 }

Gap dress, Old Navy (kids) belt, Classified gladiators, H&M wooden bangle, Le Chateau metal bangle,
Suzy ring, random hoops, vintage silk scarf & Loeffer Randall bag

We grabbed some Booster Juice on the weekend, which was the perfect cure for the super hot weather.  We strolled around an outdoor mall until we couldn't handle the heat and headed back to the sanction of central air!

I bought this dress on Wednesday evening after work, and was so pumped to find it.  I got it from the thrift store for $8 bucks, but it's originally from GAP.  I remember seeing this dress two summers ago, but passed it by - I sure am glad I did since I found this gem at a deeply discounted price.  I washed it immediately so I could rock it right away.  Score.

While perusing the Martha Stewart wedding site, I came across these lovely tissue paper pom-poms.  Not only are they easy, but they make a statement, especially when you hang several, like in the picture above.  Below, I've outlined how I did my own.

What you'll need:  tissue paper, florist wire, scissors...

...8 sheets to be exact

Fold the sheets accordian style on the longest side...

 Once you're done folding...

...Round the edges...

...Voila

 Snip a bit of wire...

...Wrap it around the centre of the folded tissue

 Pull apart each layer...

...Until you have a 'bouquet'... then pull apart the other end/side and...

Voila!
String with fishing line or more wire, pin into ceiling and you're done.

A baby version of the one above, in a darker purple.

Lynds from From Skirts to Skillets gave me a blog award, which was so sweet.  Thanks so much, L!

For Canada day our friends had an awesome party at their condo in a happening part of town.  They have the most amazing roof-top patio terrace which served perfectly for the warm day.  There were tons of people, great food and a great time in general.  HAPPY CANADA DAY!
