Giant Tiger skirt worn as a top (I've had this for more than a decade!),
I have developed somewhat of an obsession with flowy tops lately. I can't get enough and always want to rock one, whether with a pencil skirt or skinny jeans, it's the perfect mix between business and casual but pulled together and chic (and of course, oh-so-stylish). While rushing to get dressed this morning, I saw this old skirt in my drawer. Something I've owned for more than 10 years and something I haven't worn in probably 5 years. I decided to throw it on and under the blazer it worked perfectly. I'm so pumped to 'add' another flowy top to my closet.

Amy over at Junghwa by Amy Stewart does these awesome posts on Friday, fun facts actually, where she divulges various things about herself. I love reading it and look forward to it each week. I thought it would be fun to steal this idea, so let's go:
Fact #1:
(Side note: Both my parents are bikers so I say it's in my genes ;)
Fact #2:
Fact #1:
I know how ride a motorcycle. I took a course five years ago and finally understood why my dad was so obsessed. Since then, a good friend re-taught me last summer on his bike (a Yamaha R1), which was amazing. We went out several times throughout the summer and I even took it on (deserted & quiet) roads. I have a (huge) itch to buy a bike and hope to do so in the somewhat near future.

Fact #2:
I have a dog named Peanut and she is 10 years old. She lives with my parents but is our family dog. She's part shih tzu, part bichon frisé and is so soft and cuddly (and stubborn). We got Peanut when she was only a mere two months old and could fit in the palm of our hand. Now, she is about 15 pounds but still enjoys being picked up and carried around. Can't imagine my life without her.
Fact #3:
My fiancé and I have been together for six years and engaged for almost two years. This photo was taken at our one year anniversary.
Fact #4:
I only have one friend (PK) that is taller than me, or... we might be the exact same height (5'11). I tower over everyone else ... and it doesn't help that I always wear heels.
Fact #5:
My bff (SL) and I have been friends since we met in grade 4. Through good times and bad, we have never been closer than we are now and I couldn't ask for a better friend. At the end of the summer, she is moving away to another city (4 hours away) to go school. While I'm so proud of her and happy for her to begin a new journey, I cannot stop getting emotional when I think about her moving away. I know this is a great and fantastic thing for her, but I really don't know how I'm going to 'survive' without having her in this city.
Since I had a few ladies tweet & blog about this, I decided to do it the old fashioned way (thanks for the inspiration Elisharon) and write everyone's name on pieces of paper and fold them up. If you tweeted about this give-away you got an extra entry and if you blogged about it, you got an extra two entries.
And the winner is...
Congratulations Julianne

Now, I know how much it sucks for everyone else that didn't win, and I wish I could give each and everyone of you a prize, but don't worry beecause... I'm going to be doing another give-away when I hit 100 followers! So stay tuned and thank you all for entering!
Mexx dress, Garage denim jacket, Le Chateau pashmina, Bamboo gladiators,
One and a half weeks into my only-wearing-flats experiment, and I'm getting tired of this. I feel so casual in flats and while I welcome the breather from heels, two weeks is a long time. Regardless, I thought I'd give you a peek at this outfit today. This Mexx dress is a loose crisp (lined) cotton dress, with pockets - which I love! It's great for those I'm-feeling-bloated days, and also an easy dress to throw on. I've rocked it with heels and flats, in the summer and in the winter (with and without tights) - it's quite versatile (and forgiving).
Today is your last day to enter my GIVE-AWAY! It's super easy, just leave a comment on the give-away post & be a follower. The winner will be announced tomorrow!

Well, I caved. After not buying a single pair of shoes for three months (!), I could no longer resist when I layed my eyes on these ones. As some of you know, I have a small shoe obsession... some may call me a collector... so refraining from buying shoes for over 90 days is a helluva long time. I average several pairs per month but since I'm saving hard core for our August wedding, I've been trying to repress the shoe shopping addiction. I've been good, up until now (forgive me JM).
Now, as far as me wearing these beauties, you're probably wondering why I didn't just give you an outfit post with these in them. Well, as previously mentioned (over a month ago, I might add) I hurt my back and it's still not better. I've been avoiding the gym, stretching, trying not to do anything too strenuous for my lower back but I'm still in discomfort. So, I'm conducting a lil' experiment: no heels for two weeks. I'm on the second week and for a girl that wears heels (almost) everyday, it's getting tough to rock my outfits with the same feeling I get when in heels. Nonetheless, it's for a better cause and hopefully will provide the results I yearn for (a back-to-normal back). So, until next week, these beauties will find a place on the (shoe) shelves and there they will remain until their time comes.
