Everytime I get my hair coloured, this friend of my hair stylist always tends to show up.  She sits around, chats and the conversations between the three of us are always so ripe.  The most ironic part of it though, is that at yesterday's appointment, it was the third time she showed up and I happened to be there.  If you knew me, you'd know I don't get my hair coloured that often, and it certainly isn't like clockwork, so, it really is such a coincidence.  Regardless, with my wedding quickly approaching (just over two months away), I, for the first time, made a colour appointment months in advance.  The three of us agreed that we'd all 'meet' there on that day, wine in hand, foils in head.  When I go, it'll be one week before 'the big day' and I'm sure I'll be needed a couple glasses.

I found the fabric for this top on a recent jaunt to the fabric store.  I'd seen the material several times in my previous trips there, but didn't buy any (although I was very drawn to it).  I finally realized what to make with it: a tee!  It turned out great; it's a stretchy jersey material, boat-necked in an a-line cut.  Great for casual days, with jeans or leggings, a throw-on-and-go type of thing.  Perfect.

I have developed somewhat of an obsession with flowy tops lately.  I can't get enough and always want to rock one, whether with a pencil skirt or skinny jeans, it's the perfect mix between business and casual but pulled together and chic (and of course, oh-so-stylish).  While rushing to get dressed this morning, I saw this old skirt in my drawer.  Something I've owned for more than 10  years and something I haven't worn in probably 5 years.  I decided to throw it on and under the blazer it worked perfectly.  I'm so pumped to 'add' another flowy top to my closet.

As most of you know, I'm getting married this August and wedding plans are well under way.  Things are getting quite intense and somewhat stressful.  Fortunately I have a great family and several (ie. six) bridesmaids on speed dial who are super-willing to help.  Tonight, we are all getting together at my parent's house to assemble the invitations.  This will include putting them together, stuffing the envelopes, addressing the envelopes, sealing them and consuming far too much wine.

Happy Friday!  Isn't it so exciting to know that in only a few mere hours it will be the weekend and us 9-to-5'ers will be free for two whole days?  I'm super pumped for this weekend, although I have a ton to do and am pretty much booked solid.

Tonight I'm going shopping for a birthday gift for my future SIL, tomorrow my fiancé and I are going to our jeweller to start designing our wedding bands (my fiancé designed my engagement ring), then check out tux rentals, and then I'm on my way to the F-SIL's birthday party.  Sunday we are meeting with our reception venue to discuss food, we'll have some dinner and then it's off to my parent's house to meet with both sets of parents for more wedding talk.  Phew!  Exhausts me just thinking about it.  How are your weekends shaping up?

"Fridays" are always enjoyable: the last working day of a 9-to-5'er, the possibility of staying up late with no repercussions and of course, breaking out a more casual lineup.  Since it was a short week this week, I broke out the jeans for the last day of this week, Thursday.  As posted yesterday, I hurt my back.  Well today I went and got a massage, and while that was great, of course, now I'm  feeling the consequences.  I feel stiffer and more sore all over... small pain for large gain (and no pain tomorrow ... or Sunday ... hopefully!).  Have a great weekend!

So I've done it.  I've officially broke my own shoe rule.  Since high school I've refused to wear sandals until April 1st.  Which really, for a climate where we sometimes have snow into April, isn't that alarming.  However, the weather has been so mild and nice lately that I couldn't resist one of my favourite combos (flared jeans & wedges).  I mean, I think the transition this year has been much easier due to a few factors anyways:

  • I've been wearing open-toe shoes all winter, with tights

  • The weather is spring-like when it normally wouldn't be

  • Almost all the snow has melted and the roads are dry
