Outfit deets:
* Ardene 'Partier' top (new!); how cute is this? When I saw it I had to think for a minute but then realized the nod was for Cartier--cute! It was super cheap and totally on trend.
* Dynamite waterfall blazer.
* Zara jeans (old) which you've seen a few years back in a parking garage with all black errthang.
* Aldo Periera booties (Christmas gift) which I had my eye on for months, but never purchased and then funny story, my mom purchased for herself, they came in, didn't really suit her and I saw them in her pile of 'returns' and snatched them up. I told her I pay for them but she said I could have them as a Christmas gift--it was Christmas day when this happened, too!
* Accessories: Expressions by The Bay necklace (old but they still have it), Ardene 'Love' bracelet, F21 wrap bracelet & Aldo bangle.
Okay, it's that time. New Years resolution time.
I said I would share and I've been thinking long and hard--and you know I'm a fan of attainable resolutions--so here goes:
* Minimum one video per week on my YouTube channel.
* Don't take on everyone's problems--listen, empathize, let go.
* Pay off my credit card every month. #keepinitreal
I think that's good. Those are attainable, but also challenging for me.
Making videos is a time consuming ordeal, and while it's a labour of love, there is a lot of behind the scenes work from preparation of myself (hair, camera make-up), the camera itself (setting up, focusing, etc.) and then the editing which is easily three to six hours per video.
I'm a naturally empathetic and compassionate person, who takes others problems and make them my own; it's my (astrological sign's) way of helping others. In reality, it causes stress and worry, and most of the time it's the other person who has to fix it on their own. That isn't to say I'm going to turn cold hearted, I just need to learn to accept I can only help someone else so much.
Finally, my credit card. A balance on my credit card looms over me and while it might not be a terribly high amount, it still looms. I want to pay it off, and keep it at zero come the end of every month. Definitely do-able, but will have to keep my spending in check.
What are your resolutions? I'd love to hear! Share them in the comments below.

I'm still playing catch up from the Christmas holidays, and have lots to share, I hope you don't mind things are a bit out of order.
Here's what I purchased on Boxing Day. I debated whether I would battle the crowds on the 26th and eventually decided I wouldn't…. until after I slept in, felt rested and Marco offered to drop me off at the mall. Who could say no to that?!
I spent just over two hours poking around, taking my time and trying to be patient. That said, my irritation grew quite quickly and I've come to realize I just can't handle the crowds+shopping like I used to! I did however score a few things which was the perfect compromise between acquiring some new items and not spending too much money.

* Jersey skirt (50% off)

Hope you all had a great new years eve, whether it was spent at home for a quiet evening in or out on the town or at a party. A few of us went to a friend's place for some drinks and food--I made this qunoia chilli--but it was pretty tame.
I made these fun photo props after seeing this tutorial. I ended up using tinsel (cut up into shards) and dowels so we could hold onto them--they were a big hit!
I haven't forgotten about my resolutions, which I'll be sharing later this week. Happy new year!
In December I shared my Holiday Lookbook, attended a Christmas party at my grandparents' senior residence and my family surprised Marco with a birthday treat. I picked up some new shoes, ate more Pho than normal and surprised my Dad with a 60th birthday party.
I shared a video on how-to create a messy French twist, spent an evening with friends celebrating Marco's birthday and took a cupcake decorating workshop with a bunch of girls for a friend's birthday. I scored some boots I was covetting on sale, got sick with Laryngitis and met a new friend in the elevator of my apartment who made me a knit headband.
I grew out my nails--a Christmas goal--and celebrated Christmas with my family and Marco's.

Keeping with tradition, I've pulled together some of my looks from 2013 to rally up a little fashion recap. 2013 turned out to be a really great year, and an extension of the great second half of 2012. I'm a firm believer that if you put positive energy out into the world you will get it back, and while that's not always possible--we're all real here--if you make a conscious effort to do so, it will eventually come natural and great things will begin to happen.
I set a few New Years resolutions for myself this time last year which were:
* Post more spontaneously--complete;
* Do my hair more often--versus just throwing it up--complete; and
* Become better at doing my make-up--complete (I have become a blending pro. Okay, pro might be a strong word).
Resolutions don't have to be big or un-accomplishable, they can be small, mini accomplishments you make throughout the year, not necessarily with a deadline. For instance, two years ago I set up monthly resolutions, with more attainable goals like sew a top, floss more and wear clothing that I had purchased that still had tags on it.
I will be back in a few days to share my resolutions for 2014, so stay tuned while I fine tune that list.
As always, thanks for reading and being here, whether you're a newbie or a long-time friend, I so appreciate you coming to my little corner of the Internet to check out what I'm up to. Your support and the friendships mean so much. Seriously, every. single. one of you.
Happy New Year!
