Friday outfit for work, dinner & running errands (good thing I wore flats!).
Outfit deets:  W118 by Walter Baker top & Skirt, Ardene flats, Sirens necklace & Joe Fresh and F21 bangles.

On Friday night, I met my family for dinner at Score's.  If you're not familiar with the chain, it's a soup-salad bar restaurant with main courses to order.  This was my helping from the salad bar: cucumbers, cottage cheese, beats & mushrooms.

Saturday was the day my Mom & I threw my little sister a baby shower.  I wore my new dress from Forever 21 & a necklace from The Bay.

We worked so hard to put together a beautiful (pinterest-inspired) table-scape for the party.  The invitation (seen above in the frame) was in chocolate brown and green so we colour coordinated in those shades.  We used green/white polka dot napkins, ribbons & balloons along with plain green cups and plates.  We tied ribbon the sweets cups (which were filled with green jube-jubes & chocolate covered almonds) and used a green table cloth which worked perfectly with my Mom's chocolate brown curtains in behind the table.  The diaper cake was my Mom's creation and in the same colours and turned out great.  We topped the cupcakes with little green/white polka dot butterfly scrapbook shapes that we stuck onto toothpicks.  And of course the watermelon carriage filled with fruit and a nectarine with a face drawn on it to resemble a baby.

My sister is due on July 24th but (did you know) is already full term.  It could be any day that I get to meet my (first!) nephew.

Saturday night I went to a cottage (party) which was totally impromptu and last minute.  I honestly just wanted to have a quiet evening, but my boyfriend convinced me this was going to be a ton of fun...and it was.  Can you believe this is the only picture I captured of the evening?  Haha, it was that much fun.

The next day we left just before noon to head back to the city.
Outfit deets (hardly worthy):  Maison Scotch tee, Joshua Perets pants & American Eagle for Payless flip flops.

My man convinced me to hit the gym on Sunday evening (after a incredibly needed nap, which was unfortunate because I slept away a beautiful day #wahwah) which ended up being a really great workout.

We were starving after so grabbed protein shakes at the gym and take-out on the way home.  I had a chicken ceasar salad with half dressing and omitted the croutons.

HAPPY MONDAY!

For me it's really simple, I call my parents Mom & Dad and will refer to them as M&D with my sister.  Sometimes I'll call my Mom 'Mother', but she doesn't enjoy that too much (haha).

What do you call your parents?  Any special nicknames?  Do you ever call them by their first name?

Since going gluten-free (ish), I've become quite creative with a few of my recipes.  I haven't made crepes in many months, but was slightly missing them and figured there must be an alternative to my original whole wheat flour.  Enter oatmeal, which I ground up to make a flour and presto chango, these crepes were born!

Ingredients:
  yields 2 crepes (double the recipe for more)
* 1/2C Oatmeal ground up (I used my Magic Bullet)
* 1 Egg
* 1/2C Milk (I used almond milk)
* 1/2C Water
* 1 scoop of your fave protein (or omit this step altogether if you're not into that sort of thang)
* A pinch of salt (if you want)

Directions:
1.  In a medium bowl, mix together oatmeal flour & eggs (& protein)
2.  Add in milk & water which will make it thick
3.  Using a balled up papertowel, I like to dip it in coconut oil and coat my pan.  It shouldn't be dripping with oil, just a light coating so it's non-stick (think the amount of cooking spray would give you)
4.  Pour your batter in the pan and moving the pan ensure it coats the entire bottom
5.  Do not walk away!  This will cook in under a minute and you often don't need to flip it.
6.  Slide onto a plate, spread with your favourite jam or peanut butter, or just load with berries, fold up & enjoy!

Last night I was on a sewing mission and I knew it was going to take me all night so I needed something quick, easy and healthy for dinner to fuel me in between pinning and stitching.  Enter this amazingly easy and delicious dish that I made up spur of the moment.

Ingredients:
* 1 Chicken breast (or more if you're feeding others);
* Your favourite veggies, sliced; I did mushrooms & zuchinni because I had it on hand.

Directions:
1.  Pre-heat over to 350C
2.  Pour a quarter size amount of coconut oil in your cooking dish
3.  Sprinkle with pepper
4.  Add your veggies around the perimeter
5.  Spread some grainy dijon mustard on your chicken
6.  Place the chicken in the centre
7.  Cook for 30 minutes & devour

On Friday night, parent's of friends invited us to their place on the water outside of town.  We drank delicious Jack Daniels lemonade cocktails, went boating, explored their beautiful property (above) & ate like Kings.  What a fun evening!
Outfit deets:  Winners top (old), Wet Seal shorts (old, from my trip to Florida in 2012), Ardene flats, Expressions necklace & Material Girl sunnies.

I took this photo around 8pm (no filter, you guys!) when the sun was starting to set and the relection on the water was pretty much perfect.

 The next morning several of us went to a friend's place for a home-made breakfast and the best eggs benedict ever.  The hollandaise sauce is actually bernaise sauce from the dinner the night before.  A-mazing.

Saturday's outfit.
Outfit deets:  Costa Blanca top (old), Celebrity Pink shorts (new!), Bamboo sandals (old) & Payless sunglasses (last year).

Saturday afternoon was a girls' BBQ at my girlfriend's new home.  We had a blast eating, drinking, chatting and soaking up the sun in between bouts inside with the air conditioning.  She got fancy on us and broke out the champagne later in the afternoon.

Saturday night I spent the evening cleaning my apartment, which was a huge disaster.  I showered and threw on some clothes around 10pm to head out to grab food with my boyfriend once I was finished.
Outfit deets:  Okay denim vest, unknown brand dress (super old, from Winners), American Eagle for Payless sandals & Ardene clutch.

Late night Pho.

On Sunday I didn't take any pictures (what tha wha... I know.) but spent the morning with my sister and her husband shooting some maternity photos (she's due any minute!) and the afternoon with my mom putting the final touches on the shower we are throwing for my sister next weekend.  Later that night I took in Dexter which is my favourite show and I'm pumped it's back on; but so sad it's the final season #wahwah.

HAPPY MONDAY!
