I have had my ears pierced since I was a baby, mainly because I came out looking like a boy and despite my mother dressing me in all pink, people would still comment what a 'cute little boy' I was.  Yeah.  That happened.

When I was 12, my childhood best friend and I went to a drugstore nearby and split a pack of earrings to each pierce a second hole in one ear (mine left, hers right).  It was like a friendship piercing.  Totally.

After that, my parents were very strict and would not let me get anymore.  However, I think around 16 I convinced my Dad I needed a third and second hole and he finally gave in (he was more strict than my Mom on that front, which was shocking).

Over the years though, those last piercings would get infected over and over again, especially the third hole and eventually I grew out of wearing so much jewellery in my ears I went down to the original first holes only.  However, back at the beginning of this year, I wanted to see if I could shove some earrings through the holes again.  I basically had to re-pierce that third hole (with an earring), and after a lot of wincing and watery eyes, I poked through.  My ear was super red and unhappy, but I took good care of it over the course of the next two months and kept the earring in to sleep despite it being so sore (so bad that I couldn't sleep on my left side for weeks; but I was determined).

Now, many months later, all holes are perfectly normal for the first time in my life and I can change up the jewellery as I please on the daily.  Since then, I've acquired a ton of different stud-like earrings to switch things up--normally I'd just rock two large faux diamonds in the first hole.  I love mismatching my earrings and since they are small, it's not too in-your-face but a subtle, easy touch that adds some interest to my look.

I'm such a fan of long necklaces but lately I've been tending more towards shorter, chunkier versions.  I love the look under a collared shirt or with a scoop or boat neck.  Now when I shop, I'm constantly on the hunt for shorter statement-making neck-wear.

* Expressions by The Bay
I picked this up about a month ago and blogged about it HERE.  I've been wearing this a little more than I should (since it's so recognizable) but I can't help it.  It goes with so many things when I didn't think it would and adds the perfect amount of POW! to any outfit.  I also love that it has gold detailing and sometimes looks like it's attached to the article of clothing I'm wearing.

* Le Chateau
This was a recent acquisition for my upcoming PDO Vlog for how to take your look from work to weekend or transition for a 5 a 7--aka after work drinks--seamlessly.  I love the idea of simply adding a chunky necklace to add some pizazz or colour to an outfit.

* Joe Fresh
I received this necklace at Christmas from a friend and have gotten a ton of use out of it.  It also came in gold and some Loblaws/Joe Fresh locations still have it.  I have a similar, much older Joe Fresh necklace like this that is a shiny silver.

* Joe Fresh (chain) & H&M (flat)
Layering these two necklaces gave my plain outfit that day some interest and accomplished the look I was hoping to obtain.  I wanted a big, chunky necklace but didn't have anything big enough for that day so putting the two pieces together ended up getting me there.

I'm currently obsessed with strappy heels.  I'm on the hunt for a black pair to 'complete' my collection for this summer; but then again, is a shoe collection ever complete?

I love my Zara sandals that I bought online about a month ago.  Normally I try to give all my shoes a fair shot and rotate through them the best I can--we all have favourites, right?--but these ones are getting worn multiple times per week.  They have become my go-to and since they are nude, and I'm wearing them so much, I'm worried they are going to get scuzy looking quick. I was debating ordering another pair until I saw they are sold out in my size.

The other strappy ones I recently acquired are the neon lime Prabal Gurung (for Target) heels.  They aren't nearly as comfortable as the Zara ones but I love the look and pop of colour.  I am beginning to understand the common complaint of the ankle strap coming undone sometimes while you walk but Kelly shared an awesome tip which is to move the leather loop over the buckle closure to keep it closed and secure.  Genius!

I'm finding every morning, when I get dressed, I look at my shoes and am instantly drawn towards these two, mentaly debating if they work with my outfit.  They usually do, and so I wear them, again and again and again.  Although up until a month ago, my other shoes seemed fine, now they feel dated to me and I will barely look at anything with a platform or chunky wedge.  Strange how quickly the tides change, right?  I'm sure I'll re-love my other shoes again, but for now, strappy heel kick it is.
