I mentioned that I purchased seven pairs of shoes (online) the other day and, well,  'half' of them have arrived.  These three are all from Aldo and I love them.

The grey ones are my fave and I've worn them twice in a week, which isn't usually the norm as I try to mix it up considering how many shoes I have.  They are the perfect shade of grey, a real elephant grey, real suede,  and they are easy to walk in and quite comfortable.

I'm not sure about the boots (despite coveting them) I really love 'em but online they are described as, 'Over the knee' and they certainly are not.  They barely  come to my knees, let alone go over them, so that was a tad disappointing.  Still, I really like them and got a great deal on them (50% off), however, they do remind me of these boots that I already own, minus the wedge.  Who am I kidding?  I'm so keeping them.

The camel-coloured suede wedges are cute, conservative, I suppose, but chic.  I love the detail on the heel and they are easy to walk in (honestly, for me at least, almost all wedges are easier to walk in than a regular heel, usually - and I do a lot of walking in my job, for an office job that is).  I've already worn them and am a big fan, however, it makes me realize I do really favour peep-toe shoes over closed toes.  I just do.

Lastly, I noticed that the boots are the same price I paid ($90) but both pairs of shoes have gone up in price.  I paid less than $50 each.  However, if you do decide you want them, don't forget to sign up for Aldo's email list to get 10% off your order.

While visiting my BFF in Toronto I was telling her about my newest colour combo obsession, navy and black.  She said that she was always told, as a kid, that if you wore the two together, you'd look like a bruise.  I never heard that before, although I did hear other 'fashion rules' (ex. blue and green should never be seen...., etc.).  And then she put on a green top with a navy blazer (and looked awesome).

So this sweater is just like this one, but navy, which I cut in half to make into a cardigan.  I was so impressed with myself (wow, I used scissors) and excited to wear this one.  I mean, I know it wasn't hard to do, but I took a sweater I hadn't worn in a couple years, and I've been wearing it quite a bit now - how's that for shopping your closet!?

So lastly, how was everyone's weekend?  I know I didn't post, I was pretty sick all weekend long, just feeling crappy and laying low (which you might think would inspire a post, but I was just trying to stay away from the computer for once... which isn't easy since I'm obsessed!).  I did, however, get a bunch of cleaning done around the house and a ton of laundry - it's like I have all the 'good' and 'favourite' items ready again! Yipee!  I need to pick my Christmas outfit this week.  I stay at my parent's house on Christmas eve so I have to plan and pack something for that day.  The last two years it was a dress of some sort, with leggings... this year?  I don't know, I can't predict the future, but I could see it involving leggings.

The other day I went Christmas shopping on my lunch break, and by Christmas shopping I mean I went shopping for myself.  Not intentionally, it just happened.  It didn't mean anything.  Well, it sort of did, because hello, I got these amazing boots out of the deal.

Back to what I was saying: Christmas shopping on my lunch hour the other day.  It started out well, with my full plan of being to purchase for other, even with some ideas in mind.  Well, that all changed when I saw these boots.  You see, these are no ordinary boots, no, these are boots I saw last year and totally coveted.  However, since the snow had already flown and it was icky out, I talked myself out of spending the $130 on a pair of suede (aka I-cannot-wear-these-until-the-spring-and-in-that-case-who-wants-to-wear-boots-when-it's-finally-spring-and-you-can-wear-sandals) boots.  Almost a year has passed and I found myself actually reminiscing about these boots about three weeks ago,  kicking myself for not pulling the trigger.  So you can imagine my surprise when I walked into Le Chateau the other day and they still had them (irony or a sign?).  That in itself is amazing.  The next amazing thing that happened (because I had to check) was that they were now on sale, and had been marked down twice, to a cool $59.99.  My eyes quickly darted over all the various types of boot boxes until landing on the stack that contained these boots.  Only four pairs remained, surely there would be no size 10... and then there it was, the second box from the top, a big, shiny '10' on the side of it (okay, so it wasn't shiny, just go with it).  I could have jumped and squealed at that very moment if it wasn't for the woman I practically climbed over to get to the stack of boxes.  I grabbed the box, descended it from it's pile and briskly walked over to the bench.  Whipped off my heels and slid my feet into the boots I'd coveted for a year.  They fit!  There were no second guessing, no questions, just a quick lap around the store and I knew I had to have them.  And I did, and here they are a mere two days later in all their glory.  True story.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers!

I seem to be one of those people that others like to strike up a conversation with.  I'm not sure what it is, but it happens all-the-time.  And I'm so 'nice' I just go with it, and will end up having full conversations with strangers so as to not be 'rude'.  What's up with that?  I mean, if we want to get morbid, typically women can be victimized based on that quality, so it's always something to keep in the back of your head, but, back to what I was saying... so while shooting this outfit, thinking I was in a fairly desolate place, sure enough an older man comes walking out from behind this building with his miniature dog.  First he looked at me, then he was just plain staring, and by the time he got close he must have felt that urge that people feel when they see me, he just had to strike up a conversation.  He started slewing out facts about what the building I was standing up against used to be (a mink farm), and how much they used to pay in rent monthly ($10k), and how this one family owned it for years (since the 1800's).  All the while I politely smiled and nodded and acted very interested.  Meanwhile, I was actually freezing as I'd taken off my overcoat at this time and it was only 4 degrees Celcius.  He finally walked away and I jumped back into my heated car and drove off.  Sheesh.

How fab is this green wall?  I was heading to the graffiti wall and this
is on one end of the same building (freshly painted) so I totally took advantage.

Well it's official Autumn.  I know, technically it has been for almost a month, however, I've been refusing to participate, but, I finally did, and by participate, I mean throw on the tights.  You know I have mixed emotions about this one, but, I'll survive.  On a happier note, the leaves are gorgeous and I haven't documented this much and really wanted to capture some seasonal elements for you all in this post.  It's hard to believe a good chunk of the leaves have already fallen.  What's next!? Snow?

Went out shopping the other day and rocked one of my new (fave) jackets. I can't get enough.  On another note, my bff was rockin' her socks above her boots alllllll last year and I tried to tweet (her) a photo of me coppin' her style, but my photos + twitter were not working for the life of me.  I decided to roll these over-the-knee socks down and keep 'em mid-knee.  The shopping trip was less than successful (just bought a couple necklaces and a couple Christmas gifts - yes, Christmas gifts) but hey, probably for the better.

Hubs and I went out for an impromptu dinner the other night for sushi.  It was the first time we've had sushi since our honeymoon and it was so good.  Afterwards, we headed home and watched Angels & Demons which of course, I was reluctant to see, but it turned out to be very good and quite interesting.  Point for the hubs.

In other news, I'm a huge fan of these boots and have had them for just over a year.  I'm officially claiming it's fall by breaking out boots.  These are great as they are comfy and work with leggings, jeans and (ta-dah!) skirts.  I loved them so much that I bougt my bff a pair for Christmas last year in a cognac/tan colour.

Lastly, I lied to you all the other day.  I know, I know, bad A.Co, but it was to tide you over till now.  This (jacket) is actually my new BFF.  Sorry grey crinkly motorcycle jacket... this navy blue one takes the cake.  Love ya!

This weekend called for sun, sun and more sun, but come mid-afternoon on Saturday it just poured.  Fortunately, the weather was much nicer on Sunday (super humid though, ick) although I forced myself to stay inside and clean all day.  Super productive, not so super fun.

Today I went for a wedding dress fitting, just the mesculin, but it was great.  I've been debating between a couple of options and since my dress is being custom made, it's a great opportunity to really make it my own.  The fitting went extremely well and I  brought my good friend (& bridesmaid!) JM with me.  She was super helpful as we first met when I was first shopping for my wedding dress over a year ago.  Although she no longer works in the bridal industry, she certainly hasn't lost her touch.

Tonight I'm going to a concert so I have to run and get ready.  Stayed tuned for pix.
