The coldest it really gets in Southern Cal is like in the 40's and that's usually at night. The winter is so weird here because the temperature changes so much throughout the day. Morning can be 40's, mid morning 60's, afternoon 70's evening 50's night 40's all in a single day!! It makes dressing in layers a must and I always have a jacket in the car.
Thanksgiving I was in Northern Cal and it got down to 37 at night but I'm pretty sure the only place it really snows is in the mountains. I lived in Boston most of my life so I know all too well what you're going through! :(...
