Friday night (Greek) dinner and thrifting shenanigans with a girl friend.

Frosty's at Wendy's after some hardcore thrifting (I scored a cashmere turtleneck, a pink sleeveless shell, a black patent skinny belt & a black Banana Republic pencil skirt.  I spent $7.43!)

 Saturday was a beautiful day...

 ...so I decided to spend the entire day inside sewing (ha).

I made a cowl/circle scarf from the body of the cashmere sweater I scored while thrifting.  With the sleeves I made long mittens!  (Almost makes me excited for winter.  Almost.)

I also used this beautiful sheer mint fabric I had to make a top
(I got this fabric on clearance a year ago for about $3).

 Saturday lunch: tomato, avocado & buffalo mozzarella.

Saturday dinner: French toast.

I decided to wear my new top out Saturday night for salsa dancing.
Outfit deets:  A.Co Designs top, Dynamite faux leather shorts, Wild Diva booties & Aldo clutch.

Sunday I spent the afternoon at my parent's place doing laundry and hanging out.
Outfit deets:  H&M top, Wet Seal shorts, Vince Camuto sandals & Empire bag.

Then I headed over to my girl friend's house for dinner and the final of the Bachelorette.

Dinner, pool-side (don't you just love eating al fresco in the summertime?).

Our dessert while watching the show: fro-yo topped with fresh berries.

Attempting a new habit: make my bed (so nice to come home to this).

Oh how I love packages from the mail man!

Look what just arrived in the mail: Anne Michelle 'Sensuous' Spiked heels (only available in black now).

I ordered these a few weeks ago (pre-leather jacket splurge) as an add on to some taupe booties I was feeling and I ended up loving these more than the boots!  They have super cushion-y insole and fit very true to size.  It was love at first-try-on.

I found these on a couple other sites:

Happy shopping!

Another summer evening, another night of fun.

My girl friend and I got together two nights ago and had a bbq chicken quinoa salad (she brought the quinoa salad, I brought the chicken, it was a mish-mash of what we could find in our fridges) and we sat outside and enjoyed the balmy evening weather after work.

No drinks this time, instead we had some refreshing lemon water and for dessert she grilled up some peaches and served them over the creamiest, most amazing vanilla ice cream.  Such a summer treat!

Okay, I've hit my shopping limit for the next little while.  During a stint at Winners the other night I came across this mint green Maison Scotch leather jacket (the colouring is off in the photo), and they only had two left, different sizes.  The larger size fit me perfectly and I did a little squeel and happy dance in the fitting room.

I'm not one to spend a lot on one item, I prefer to spread my money out on several items but I justified this one as it's:
* real leather
* fits like a glove
* butter-cream soft
* a beautiful colour
* I don't own a jacket in this colour

The price was $120 but I found a 'flaw' (the main zipper pulley is missing) so they discounted it to $105 and I walked away a very happy girl! I had never heard of the brand but after some google-ing, found out it's sold on Revolve Clothing, ShopBop, Neiman's, etc. The most similar one I could find is on Asos for originally $582, aka, mine was a major score.  Love that!

Just over a month ago, I told you all about my running routine and what I was doing to keep fit.  Unfortunately, a knee injury (simply from running) put me on the side lines about a week later, and I haven't run since.  I know knee issues are not something you should mess with and it's important to listen to your body and give yourself time to heal (don't push yourself).  On the bright side, it's been a bit of a nice break from running and I have switched up my routine to accommodate.

I have been working out with my running friend on our lunch hours still, but focusing on strength training.  We don't go to the gym, we simply use a secluded spot near our gym at work to get our fitness on.  All the moves we do are with our own body resistence and actually very challenging.  We are certainly keeping our heart rates up and breaking a mad sweat.

I wanted to share with you some of our workouts as people often ask us what we do or where we get our ideas.

Our favourite workouts come from Instagram: OneFitMom (girl is fit, let me tell you).  I simply take a screen shot of the workouts she posts (like above) and we keep my phone close by during the workouts and bang it out.

Lately, when we want to spice things up, we use other avenues, including making up our own, similarly inspired, workouts (like below; how cute is the bottom one my friend made for today?!).  We always do the set three times and it always includes things we hate or struggle with (for me, that's the plank, for sure) mixed in with more enjoyable moves.
