{ Aldo, Geringer $110 }

You don't have to splurge to be stylish and I certainly live by that motto.  I found these great booties on Aldo's site and started to drool.  Fortunately, I've found a much cheaper (and almost identical) version at Forever 21.

As I mentioned yesterday, I went to a concert last night, and it was awesome!  Not only did we get to see a fantastic concert (in a suite, none the less), we got to meet one of the band members (on his tour bus)!  Can you guess which band we saw last night, from the pictures?  Thanks so much to LT for the invite!

Nicole Marciano pashmina, Ardene thigh-highs, AMI boots, Garage fingerless gloves & Aldo ring

Today I went for a wedding dress fitting, just the mesculin, but it was great.  I've been debating between a couple of options and since my dress is being custom made, it's a great opportunity to really make it my own.  The fitting went extremely well and I  brought my good friend (& bridesmaid!) JM with me.  She was super helpful as we first met when I was first shopping for my wedding dress over a year ago.  Although she no longer works in the bridal industry, she certainly hasn't lost her touch.

Tonight I'm going to a concert so I have to run and get ready.  Stayed tuned for pix.

{ my fiancé thought it was imperative to get a shot of the fingerless gloves }

{ circle scarf }

I've wanted a circle scarf for a while now, but didn't want to pay the price that went along with one from a store.  So, I headed to my closest fabric store, picked up 1.5m of yellow jersey fabric to see if I could make one myself.  I'm pretty excited with the end result because it turned out quite nice!  I'm no sewer by any means, but my mom has a sewing machine that I've hemmed pants the odd time, so I gave it a shot.  I learned how to create a french seam during this project too, and can't wait to wear my new accessory!

{ yellow jersey fabric - the colour looks pale, but it's quite a vibrant yellow }

{ this shows the french seam -
unfortunately I didn't have any yellow thread, so this will have to do }

Well it's official: I have lost my (winter) legs.  That's right, the tights have come off and I'm so excited!  We are officially in spring (in my books) and I have put my tights away till the fall.  It's been six long months of wearing tights almost every day and I'm more than ready to go bare-legged.  I have to smile when I read about other bloggers (who live in generally warm climates year 'round, ie. LA) who get excited to put on tights due to cooler evening temperatures.  It's like a treat for them, which is nice, but here, it's a neccessity.  I'd look ridiculous running around with bare legs in the dead of January (ie. when the temperature drops below -25C).  Regardless, spring has sprung and tights are done... well, for a few months at least.
