Outfit deets:
* Forever 21 faux leather jacket which you've seen with coloured pants in the summer time (and some seriously unflattering photos, ha).
* Winners trapeze tank that I've worn so much it's getting worn out--as in, there might be a small hole somewhere.
* Urban Behaviour Brazil pants--I own three pairs of these because they fit like a glove, I wear black skinnies often, and they were $20.
* Aldo wedge boots which you've seen back in the Fall when I had the wedge shortened.
* Accessories: F21 cross-body clutch, MK watch, gift leather bracelet, Gorjana-Griffin bangle & Call it Spring ring.

So, if you haven't noticed, I have had a few exciting changes happening on my blog in the past couple weeks.  One, of course, was the re-design which I'm really pleased with and plan to keep it this way for a bit, and secondly I've brought on a photographer for my outfit posts, which I'm really excited about.

When I started A.Co est. 1984 four years ago, it was a style blog and over the years has evolved into more of a lifestyle blog.  I love sharing bits and pieces of my life with you, and don't plan to change that, but have been wanting to incorporate more style back into it.  As that's truly where my passion lies, and some of my work as a Style Consultant, I really want to bring that element back to this space.

I have been loving using a cross-body clutch for several months now and have been alternating between this rose-gold coloured one I picked up from Forever 21 over a year ago, and my olive coloured Aldo one.  I've been using them both so much they have started to tear a bit where the strap meets the bag.

I find that I'm using my Phillip Lim 3.0 for Target bag everyday which holds my heels, lunch, cosmetics bag, and my clutch, which is perfect.  I need a big carry-all to tote everything back and forth, but when it comes to running errands or going out shopping, I simply can't be bothered with a big purse right now--I love having my hands free!  I can see myself continuing this into the warmer months as it makes it so much easier for everyday life.

I have a few more changes up my sleeve and in preparation for that, I'm cleaning out my closet.  I mentioned it on Facebook and Twitter that I'd share some clothes for sale, if anyone is interested and have started with some dresses I'm selling.  Come on over, if you'd like to take a look.  More to come!

Outfit deets:
* Dynamite faux leather jacket (old) which I packed for Toronto Fashion Week (almost a year ago!) and with a red pencil skirt in an old outfit post that I still really love.
* La Senza tee (new!).
* Sirens camo pants which you've seen at Halloween.
* Aldo wedge boots; modified as they originally had a huge platform that I had removed in the Fall.

Happy Thursday--we are getting super close to the weekend which is always a plus in my books.

This week has super cold, like -35C cold… like can't-go-outside-without-mitts cold…. like your-nose-doesn't-run-because-it's-already-frozen-cold… TMI?  I digress.

Basically it's terrible to go outside, but life goes on, right?  On the plus side, if you have beautiful boots you love, that keep you warm, you can wear them because the pavement is dry and the snow is hard.  If you live in a warm climate right now, and have no idea what I'm talking about, you can bite me.  Just kidding, but seriously, do you have a guest room?

Have a great day friends & see ya tomorrow.

Outfit deets:
* Thrifted jacket (old) which you've seen on the weekend a few times.
* Ardene t-shirt (new!).
* Sirens pants (which are the same cut as my camo pants).
* Aldo boots (no longer available) which you saw in my Fall Fashion video, with olive green faux leather pants and with similar pants and polka dots in the Fall.  Also with an eerily similar outfit a few months back.
* Accessories: Club Monaco scarf (old), Garage beanie, Suzy Shier ring, Swarovski & F21 bangles & gifted bracelet.

Happy Wednesday ladies (and gents?)!

I love this outfit and truly like myself it in--it's a little edgy and a little girly and pretty casual.  My style has definitely evolved over the past few years from tight fitting errthang and belts around the waist to flowy tops, skinny pants and edgy jackets and footwear.

The weekend is my favourite thing to dress for because I get to live in leggings, long tops, boots and bomber style jackets.  I love dark, muted colours and grey is definitely a favourite.  I feel I can really express my true style on the weekends as I feel best in casual, edgy clothes.  While I love skirts, and live in them during the summer, the hassle of pulling on tights in the winter is such a pain.  I'll do it, but would much rather grab a pair of pants and heels.

What do you gravitate towards?  How has your style evolved over the past few years?

Outfit deets:
* Seduction jeans (old) which you've seen with a black oxford and wedges.
* Spring boots (from last year) which I've worn to death and refuse to give up because (1) they are so comfy, (2) totally my style, and (3) hidden wedge with an option to wear the boot shaft up or rolled down like seen here.  Love love love them--they were my go-to last winter every weekend.  Get a better look at them this time last year not folded down with magenta skinnies.
* Accessories:  Garage fingerless gloves (new!), Spring headband (new!) & Aeropostale circle scarf (new!).

It's almost Friday, it's almost the weekend!  Picture me singing that because I'm so excited to sleep in and do whatever I want for a couple days in a row.

I stopped by H&M tonight and was seriously disappointed the Isabel Marant for H&M collection is apparently not coming to Ottawa.  What?  Dislike.  That said, I meandered around and tried on six things and walked away with something I was actually looking for: a snug, black dress with sleeves.  I pinned a picture recently of an inspiring photo and found an almost identical dress--for $15  (hello)  so naturally I bought it.

Normally I don't go for tight, tight, tight, but this was an exception and inexpensive so less guilt.  I can't find the actual dress on the H&M website but it also comes in navy (they didn't have my size or she would have come home with me too) and orange.

And in other news, these photos were taken during filming of my most recent video, Bundling Up (for winter).  Some of the pictures came out so I thought I'd share them on here as an outfit post--why not.

Outfit deets:
* Reitman's sweater (via Place d'Orleans) which is new and oh-so-cozy!
* Urban Planet leggings (new!) which I shared in my most recent Colour Pairings video.
* Accessories:  midi ring by Spring.

Struggling to figure out what to wear with faux leather leggings?  How about a cozy sweater and some boots; quick and easy and completely pulled together.

These photos were taking in between filming my next PDO video on Sunday.  The weather was quite chilly but ultimately it was a beautiful day with sunshine.  So bummed the weekend is over; who lives for the weekend?  Say I!

Voting is still going on for my nomination in the Made in Blog Awards and to be the face of Dynamite.  Please click the links and vote for me, I would really appreciate it!

Outfit deets:
* Vintage top (thrifted).
* Mossimo pants that I picked up in Florida a couple years ago; you've seen them with this jacket before (which I was referencing when I got dressed) and on the weekend.
* Aldo wedge boots (Givenchy inspired) which I'm competely obsessed with and showcased in my most recent Fall Fashion video.
* Accessories:  Joe Fresh necklace (old), G21 sunnies, gifted square bangle, Suzy leather wrap bracelet & F21 bangle.

I know I'm kind of bombarding you with posts this week, but, I'm trying to make up for being so slack last week, and also, sometimes the inspiration, ideas and writing comes, and sometimes it doesn't.  I was so beat when I got home from work last night but I told myself, 'No, we're going back down and shooting these photos'--as well as the photos for my 'new' boots.

How is everyone's week thus far?  Mine has been fine, my evenings have been busy but last night was a total relax night (aside from doing dishes for an hour).  Speaking of relaxing, how anti-climatical was the ending of Dexter on Sunday.  What.  The.  Fudg..sicle?!  I'm sad it's over, but not nearly as sad as I would of been had it been a heart-wrenchingly upsetting ending.  I just feel kind of meh about it.  Like, oh well.  That ain't right.

Outfit deets:
* DIY Tina Turner concert top (thrifted for $2 & cut up; I used THIS tutorial, sort of) which I made for the gym and have only worn it out instead.
* F21 liquid leather bralette (I'm loving bralettes lately and never go bra-less but did on this day...).
* H&M skirt from my trip to Toronto Fashion Week (part 1 & part 2) in March 2013 (see the vlog / video I made HERE).
* Accessories:  F21 bangle, Ardene cross-body/clutch & Gucci shades.

Happy Wednesday everyone!  How has your week been thus far?

Monday night was awesome, I went on a double date to an Industry Night dinner; basically what that means is a special dinner, mainly for people in the serving industry (I'm not one of them...anymore), that is put on by a top chef of a restaurant in Ottawa.  I had vaguely heard of this before, but never been.

It takes place on the last Monday of every month and is a four-six course meal for $25.  The word meal is relative as the portions were sharing plates between the four of us, except the main dish--shared between two--and the dessert where everyone got their own.

The restaurant that was putting on this month's evening was Town, a restaurant that I would say is a mix between Italian and French food.  A place I've been to once, been meaning to go back to, and really loved (have the meatballs, if you go).

We tried a variety of food, and this is definitely a meal you need an open palette for; not for the picky eaters, that's for sure.  We had things like smelt fish, octopus, porchetta, lamb sausages etc.  I am a big food lover and not shy to try anything so this was right up my alley!  Everything was delicious, but the octopus and lamb sausages took the cake for me.

I ended up vlogging our evening and am currently editing the footage to share with you very soon!  Here's a peak at my outfit from Monday night.

Hope you're having a great week--cheers.

 Outfit deets:
* Imaginary Voyage top (from Winners, new!).  I picked this top up last week during my lunch hour while shopping.  I saw the top, loved it and bought it without trying it on--something I never, ever do--and it worked out.  I might take the darts in at the front a tad as it's a littler roomier there than I hoped, but in these photos it doesn't show.
* H&M skirt (old) which you've seen with a few summers back with pink & my favourite gladiators.
* Diva Lounge wedges (old) which were my go-to shoe last summer (along with my Sophie Low's) and you've seen them with my 'Nurse' dress, an Easter outfit, in Florida for my 28th birthday, and with a pretty white dress.
* Accessories: gifted circles bracelet, American Eagle open bangle, Swarovski bangle, Claire's necklace & Gucci shades.

I'm so excited to finally post some outfit photos; I've been slacking lately but my point-and-shoot kind of died on me too.  Secondly, I'm slowly learning how to work with a DSLR which is so exciting but difficult to use with a self-timer.  Any Nikon pros out there that can offer some tips on shooting yourself?

This wall is convenient for me to shoot at so you might be seeing more of it in the future; hope you don't mind but I think it makes for a cool backdrop.

Do you guys Keek?  I joined about a month ago and love sharing random clips of my life on there, including outfits that never see the light of day on my blog.  If you don't know what Keek is, it's short, 36 second video clips; just long enough to share something cool but short enough you don't get bored.  Find me @acoest1984.

Outfit deets:
* Zara top (new!).
* Zara pants (new!).
* Aldo wedges (old) which you've seen a million times because they used to be my fave and seen with a mini skirt and low-back sweater (love this post) & in a construction zone (love this one too).
* Accessories: Ardene necklace, various bangles & Gucci shades.

I twisted and pulled my hair back on this day to create a faux side-shave to emulate a Cassie or Rihanna-like hairstyle.  As I was leaving my building, a neighbour who I'm familiar with asked if I had shaved half my head!  Mission accomplished.

On another note, the boyfriend was not a fan of this look and asked me to never wear my hair like this again.  Haha, I guess some styles are more for the girls, case in point.

Outfit deets:
* Alexander Bartlett top (from Winners & old) which you've see with a cognac leather jacket & flared jeans.
* Smart Set chinos (new!) and come in a slew of different colours I might need to snatch up a few more (but be forewarned they do stretch out).
* Christian Louboutin Passmule wedge (old) which I don't wear a ton--they aren't very comfortable, to be honest--but break 'em out every now and again to get my money's worth (haha).  Last seen with the same top (wtf?) and a lime yellow-green cardigan (okay, so clearly there is a pattern here).
* Accessories:  Cleo pony hair belt, Gucci shades, Claire's necklace, Sirens ring & F21, gifted chain bracelet & my DIY Ropes Maine bracelet (I couldn't afford the real deal, so I made my own).

So good news and bad news.

The bad news is my computer is ladden with viruses, on the verge of completely dying and I could lose everything.

The good news is I'm getting a new one.

Not ideal circumstances, but when it takes you 26 minutes to boot your less-than-two-year-old laptop up, every click takes minutes and you can't edit your videos in under three hours, there's a problem.  I've been putting up with the problem for a long time now and it's just getting to the point of anger, frustration and tears sometimes when I use it.  So, the time is now.

Even better news?  I'm going with a MacBook Pro and am so excited (c'mon you guys, it's a big purchase)!  I'm a PC user so the switch to Mac is a little scary and daunting when I think about learning a new system, but everyone who's had one or has one loves it and I've toyed around on one before and got the hang of it in a matter of hours.  Additionally, I'm an iPhone junkie so it only makes sense.  I have to wait a few weeks for it to arrive, which sucks, but let the countdown begin.

Anyone out there with a Mac book and want to share some quick tips and tricks for a first time user?
