H&M blazer, dress & jeans, Bamboo boots, Mexx necklace & Bay bangle

The lobby of the hotel we stayed at during our weekend away was so beautiful I asked my mom to snap these shots so I could take advantage. We stopped at H&M on our way into town and despite packing my 'party' outfit, I ended up rocking an entirely new outfit instead.  Enter my new H&M finds.  Jeans.  Dress (worn as a top).  Blazer.  Yipee!

Today is the day my match-making efforts come into play.  I have set up a good friend of mine with someone I work with.  I'm pretty excited they are going out this evening, totally cute.  Who knows what will stem from this, but either way, a fun night for both I'm sure.  I personally have never been set up, have you?

Lastly, I know someone anonymously asked me what these boots looked like IRL on my Christmas Goodies post.  While I've worn them quite a bit, I never snapped any shots of them (oops!).  Next time maybe I'll just twit-pic the request.  Do you follow me on Twitter?

An old friend contacted me as she'd seen the chiffon ruffle top I made and she wanted to get something similar.  I ended up embellishing a black tank top she already had with a huge ruffled flower.  It turned out so nice I'm debating what colour I'm going to do for myself!

I was saving this dress for a special occasion, some exciting holiday party, a wedding, something ... other than work.  Then I remembered my before-New-Years-resolution and decided to make it work for work.  I put a black tee underneath, which I think 90% of the people who saw me thought it was part of the dress, including hubs.  Mainly though, the dress got tons of love from coworkers, friends and strangers and I didn't feel so bad about wearing it on an ordinary day.

While on a recent thrifting jaunt (yes, jaunt), I was heading to the cash and spied this mint green knit mohair sweater peeking out from a bunch of dud sweaters.  I quickly whipped down the aisle, held it up and imagined it used to belong to some elderly woman.  Perfect.  I purchased it immediately and left even happier.  Imagine my surprise when I washed it (before wearing, of course) and saw the 'Esprit' lable inside.  Elderly lady it did not belong to, yet, likely some girl my age.  Nonetheless, it was an excellent find, even if it's not vintage.

Next up, as you might know, I took a really bad fall almost two weeks ago, and was off work for just over a week.  It was pretty terrible, but the rest did me well as I'm back at work this week and feeling almost as good as new.  This past Saturday, I had my family Thanksgiving (the one I posted about was the in-laws) and since I was still unable to drive (due to my back), my parents had planned to pick me up.  Well, dinner was at 5:30pm but my mom called at 10:30am to see if I'd be ready for 1pm instead.  Why so early (!? - I shrieked a little), and she calmly replied, 'So we can go to the mall first?'  Without hesitation I said I'd be ready for 1pm.  After being cooped up in the house for a week and a half, I wanted to get out (and to my second home, needless to say).  Now of course, by the end of the shopping trip, I was getting a little sore and my back was agitated, but, it was worth it.  You know why?  Because I picked up this amazing white faux fur jacket!  I saw it and it was love at first sight.  The store had just unpacked it that morning and it wasn't even on the floor yet!  The best part?  My mom printed an extra coupon for me to use (that day only) to get 40% off.  It was a no brainer.  A slight splurge, but a no brainer.  I think we will be very happy together.  I already showed her off a little.

I bought this skirt a couple of months ago and it was super on sale.  I was so ecstatic about this find because I was searching for a lace skirt, and we all know how much I love tiers.  I've been saving it for the perfect day and this outfit sprang to mind as I rushed around getting ready for work.  In past years, I've been reluctant to wear black in the summertime, but this year I seem to be singing a different tune... and I quite like it.

We are officially less than three weeks away till the wedding.  I have had three dress fittings and the dress is just about done (she was basically just waiting for my shoes to come in, to do the hem).  I am so in love with this dress and I wish I could show you guys some pictures from my fittings, but they are top secret until the big day.  I will certainly share with you after!

...And you thought I was going to talk about diamonds.  Had a little outting with Peanut the other day.  She's such a curious thing, you can not take her off the leash - unless you never want to see her again!  She would take off immediately, especially if she hears kids (she loves kids).

When I saw this skirt during my thrifting excursion the night before Canada Day, I knew I had to have it.  I zipped into the change room and zipped it up and it fit perfectly.  I was ecstatic.  Not only that, I just happened to go the day everything in the store was 50% off!  I walked away with several items, including this fab, vintage lace skirt for $5.

I can't seem to get enough of ruffles (seen here & here, and for purchase here), and this day was no different.  I made this top with some lilac-coloured chiffon I found at the fabricstore.  Initially, I was planning on making a  multi-tiered tank, but my mind wasn't working in that direction and of course wandered to what else? Ruffles!

Good news: the fiancĂ© & I went out and he bought us a new camera!  Yipee!  So, although it wasn't used to take these pictures (because, you know, we have to charge the battery, and wait, etc.), I'll be back to clearer shots in no time.  However, I couldn't pass up showing you guys my latest project.

I have created new items for my Etsy shop and am sharing them exclusively with you all first!  These are the first A.Co Designs embellished tees.  The extra long tees feature a great chiffon ruffled collar or double rosettes on the lapel area.  The jersey is stretchy and super comfy, and for just $16, it's an easy and inexpensive way to dress up any outfit.

Tee & ruffle/rosette colours are customizable - just ask.
