NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE: THE SHOE DEPARTMENT (+ TRY ONS)

As I mentioned on the weekend, I went back to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to scope out the shoe section.  If you've never been before, the shoes and the clothing are on different floors, and by the time I was done in the fitting room, I was not about to venture down there and battle the crowds.

That said, I couldn't stay away for long, so I'm sharing my top picks for the shoes in the sale, how they fit, colour preferences and more.

I loved these two-tone black booties (which also come in a reddish-cognac).  All of the sales associates were drooling over them too--something about the suede and leather giving a really eye catching detail.  I find these run try to size (tts) and the block heels makes them comfy for walking and practical for cooler temps.

These flats are super cute, and you ladies know I've been a fan of this style of shoe for over a year now.  These are very comparable to my Topshop lace up flats, they run tts and are fairly comfortable.  I do have a wider foot, so these could be a tad wider to really woo me.

Overall, these are great quality, come in a ton of different colours and at a great price point.  If you're new to the lace up trend, I'd totally scoop these up.  My favourite colours were the wine (above), black & nude.

These are a cute option if you're looking for lace up heels.

These low-cut booties are super cute, I love the small heel and the fringe detail.  I wanted the grey (which looks more tan online) but they didn't have my size in store, so he brought me out the two other colours, black and cognac.

I found these were a little roomy, but as they are narrow, I could not size down.  Another thing to note, the sole under the toe bed is quite smooth so these would be no bueno in slippery conditions.

I do really love these ones but didn't see them in my store.

I was excited to try these, but I'll be honest, was not a huge fan once I got them on my feet.  Maybe it's because I don't own anything like this/they aren't what I'd normally choose, but I just wasn't feeling them.  I'm wearing a half size down, and they were definitely too small, but they didn't have my usual size.

Additionally, they were pretty difficult to pull on and off and they fit a little narrow.  They come in brown, but overall this was a pass for me.

Ah, the well-priced OTK boot.  I love these boots and am stalking the website for the burgundy colour to be re-stocked because they are so-freakin'-nice.

These definitely run tts because I tried a half size down and it was definitely not happening.  The low 3-inch heel is perfect for days and evenings out where walking is necessary and there is no platform in the foot bed.  The boot circumference is a little wider, and there is an elastic at the back and side zipper making them easy to get in and out of, plus a little stretchy.

I would totally scoop these up in black and grey if I didn't have black and grey OTK boots already!

OMG these boots.  Okay, this is a bit of a cheat because they are not part of the sale, but I've had my eye on them since last year in that bright cognac colour, and so when I saw them in the beautiful stormy, mushroom grey (above), I was totally smitten.  I can't find them on the Nordstrom website, but I did find them on sale here, here & here.  I love the cut out detail on the back!  #swoon  I'm going to be wearing these non stop this Fall.

Also, love this western style over the knee option from the same brand (and sizes are fully in stock!) and this one which is over $100 off (love the acorn suede colour most).

Happy shopping!
