Pizza at Gusta in Florence

DENIM JACKET  |  BLACK TANK (SIMILAR)  |  SHINY LEGGINGS  |  SNEAKERS  |  NINE WEST BAG -- OLD

Our first food stop in Italy was at Gusta Pizza.  We walked for about a kilometre, with our heavy carry-on bags to find this place and it did not disappoint.

The pizzas are exactly what you'd think authentic Italian pizza would be; saucy, thin-crusted with simple toppings like basil, spicy salami and roma tomatoes.

This place was buzzing and there was a line to get in, but it moved quickly.  You walk up to the counter, place your order (there are seven pizzas to choose from; I picked the classic Margharita) and grab your drink from the fridge.  Then you wait until your number is called.

The kitchen is open concept so you can watch the chefs work their magic with the wood fire oven.  The small spot it littered with high-top tables but seating is limited.  We managed to score a table in the back room to enjoy our pies.

Go there, get the margherita and tell them I sent you!  ...just kidding, they will have no idea who you are talking about, but seriously, go.
