Hey guys, thanks for popping in to hang out for a minute.  Some of you have been leaving me some really nice comments lately while some people have not been following the, 'If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all'-adage.

I love blogging and connecting with you all.  I have said it before, and I'll say it again: my life is not perfect, I have hardships, emotions and difficult days.  What I share here is meant to be positive, uplifting and generally enjoyable for anyone who might stumble over here (or check in on the daily because I know some of you are simply awesome like that).  I don't expect everyone to like me or agree with what I'm doing or how I'm living.  That said, I do expect everyone to be respectful and kind.  I try to treat everyone I encounter with respect and kindness and if my blog isn't your cup of tea, no need to be nasty, simply move on to something that is.

On the flip side, to the reader friends who have been here for a long time, or a short time, and leave the sweetest comments, sometimes even defending comments, or simply enjoy my blog silently, thank you.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Putting yourself out there on the Internet is going to cause some drama, at some point, and I love that you have my back and enjoy this space.  That makes me want to continue and share and be here too.

For now, I have changed the comment settings so you will have to sign in if you would like to comment.  I know a lot of you leave positive comments under anon, so I'm sorry to remove that option for the time being.  You can always send me an email or tweet me (@acoest1984) if you'd like.  BIG HUG and thanks for reading.

  1. One thing I try to remember is that the people who try to tear others down are the people who are the most unhappy with their own lives. I'm sure you already knew that yourself, but sometimes a little reminder can't hurt! :)

Oh, and I once read on a blog that negative comments usually means that you're doing something right! It's ironic, but I'm pretty sure they're right so remember that too!! :)

  2. I absolutely LOVE your blog!!! It's light, fun, introspective, thoughtful, and REAL! I can't even believe some of the comments that people leave - it's just disgusting that anyone can be so rude. Keep your chin up, chica. I think you're doing such a great job, and don't worry about those losers ;)

  5. Haters gon hate girl. I know it's hard to read some days but you can't let it get you down or stop you from doing what you love.

Mean people on the internet are sad and lonely people in "real life". Nothing better to do than bring others down to their sad level.

I love your blog your videos and you in general. Keep it up! I would kinda hate on ya if I was so pretty, talented, paid to shop, and have a pretty great life full of friends, travel and great times. But then if you know you, you can't help but love you. You're such a kind and thoughtful person.

  7. I sucks that people post negative things but I think it is awesome that you are calling them on it.
I agree that if you can't say something nice keep your mouth shut, or in this case your cursor out of the comment box.
    Keep it up Amanda!

  8. It is true that haters are going to hate. I've suffered through this with the artistic photos that I had posted on various photography sites. You learn to live with it but there is always that pang of pain after reading those words nonetheless.

This blog and others like it are not a matter of simply posting on a whim, there is much time and effort put into them.

That, I believe, is the underlying reason dispirited comments affect us so deeply. It only took them mere moments to type those words and in that instant where you read them, they tear at the time, the commitment, and the vision that went into the creative work. The worst part of it though, is they make us doubt ourselves. That is where we have to rise above their comments and just carry on, and that is a difficult proposition at times.

If I could say I learned one thing from negative comments, it was this: if it doesn't come from someone you respect, then it doesn't mean anything. Typically a negative comment from someone you respect is constructive and gives you something to work with. All others can be ignored.

So keep at it. One day the haters will see A.Co Fashion in Vogue! :)

  9. Oh my goodness, that vintage green suede skirt was quite the find! I just love how you show us how to take an old piece of clothing and make it look fresh and new. It takes excellent intuition and talent to know how to choose pieces that you will love for a lifetime. Love your videos and blog! They give me something to look forward to at the end of a tiring, frustrating day. :)

  10. Wow, it never ceases to amaze me how mean people can be to total strangers. They don't know you, and certainly have no right to say hurtful things.

As a long time reader of your blog I have to say I think you do a FANTASTIC job and I look forward to seeing your outfits, as I am horrible at putting them together myself, so you're inspiring. :)
Just remember that there will ALWAYS be more good people than bad.
Keep doing your thing Amanda, you're doing great work!!
