Covet

I am absolutely enamoured with these Christian Louboutin 'Very Privé' slingbacks, in patent nude.  I dream about these shoes and want them so badly.  I was thinking of splurging and buying them for my wedding, but, as the costs of everything are rising, the dream of wearing these on my big day is getting further and further away.  It doesn't help that they are uber hard to find to purchase (black is everywhere, but the nude is quite rare)... or maybe that does help.

What are you coveting right now?

As most of you know, I'm getting married this August and wedding plans are well under way.  Things are getting quite intense and somewhat stressful.  Fortunately I have a great family and several (ie. six) bridesmaids on speed dial who are super-willing to help.  Tonight, we are all getting together at my parent's house to assemble the invitations.  This will include putting them together, stuffing the envelopes, addressing the envelopes, sealing them and consuming far too much wine.

The Winter Commeth Again?

Dynamite blazer (also seen here), thrifted top, Urban Behaviour skirt (also seen here),
Suzy belt (worn as a necklace), Givenchy fishnets, Report Signature heels,
Swarovski & Le Chateau bangles

Yesterday it snowed.  Yes, snow.  It's been jacket-less weather for weeks and now I'm back in my parka.  What has the world come to?!  However, I must admit that snow in April isn't that unheard of, but, after the mild March and so-far-wonderful April, it now feels as if we're heading into winter, not away from it.  I shivered through these pictures, but I don't think you can tell.

The Look for Less

I am on the casual hunt for some new wedges, something fancier but of course through my travels I came across these great super stacked (5.5 inches!) wedges from Bakers Shoes.  They are even on sale for $50 bucks, but I can do better than that.  Check out the similar version below from Urban Original - and in two colours, it's a steal.

Well, as predicted, it was a super busy weekend.  I spent Friday night shopping for a birthday gift, as planned and scored big time.  I was able to get my future SIL a yellow trench, a thin-knit red halter with ruffles, a pair of drop earrings, an army-inspired sleeveless vest, a pink pashmina and a gift certificate for her to buy herself a new Thomas Sabo charm for the bracelet she has.  She loved it all, which was great.

Saturday we went to the jeweller and started designing our wedding bands (very excited!) and then got some poutine and made our way back home.  That evening was the birthday party.

Lastly, Sunday, we registered (again) at another store and then met with our venue.  We hit up my parent's house for dinner and my future in-laws came over so we could all discuss the upcoming plans.  It was a late night but very productive.  How did your weekends shape up?

* PS - did you notice the shredded top I'm wearing?  It's a new item available for purchase in my Etsy Shop!

Board Meeting

Club Monaco blouse (clothing swap - thnx PK!), Smart Set cami,
Bongo skinny jeans, Gap wedges (also seen here), H&M bangle,
Tiffany & Co. bracelet, gifted necklace from my bff

Happy Friday!  Isn't it so exciting to know that in only a few mere hours it will be the weekend and us 9-to-5'ers will be free for two whole days?  I'm super pumped for this weekend, although I have a ton to do and am pretty much booked solid.

Tonight I'm going shopping for a birthday gift for my future SIL, tomorrow my fiancé and I are going to our jeweller to start designing our wedding bands (my fiancé designed my engagement ring), then check out tux rentals, and then I'm on my way to the F-SIL's birthday party.  Sunday we are meeting with our reception venue to discuss food, we'll have some dinner and then it's off to my parent's house to meet with both sets of parents for more wedding talk.  Phew!  Exhausts me just thinking about it.  How are your weekends shaping up?

Tan This

Dynamite top, Le Chateau belt, Smart Set skirt,
Anne Michelle pumps, Suzy necklace (also seen here)
 & ring, Swarovski bracelet

I've been going back and forth between wearing tights and going bare-legged.  I factor this decision in the morning on two things: 1. Whether I've hit the bottle lately (and by 'bottle', I mean self-tanner bottle), and 2. The temperature.  Seriously though, I'm sick of putting on the tights so it was refreshing to go without (even though the self-tanning process seems so lengthy: shower, exfoliate, shave, moisturize, apply tanner, walk around for-what-seems-like-forever until it dries... you get the idea).  Does anyone have a favourite self tanner?

DIY Studded Wedges

*

I am loving Jeffrey Campbell studded wedges so much, but the price tag that goes along with them?  Out of reach.  So, I have decided to try and re-create my own version of the studded shoes.

I started with an older pair of wedges from Aldo (which actually, I purchased a second pair the following year at a super discounted price because I had loved them so much the year earlier - and they still had my size, rare and amazing) with a hemp/espadrille base (cork would work too).

{ I needed 500 push pins }

{ start with the bottom row and push the pins into the wedge along the sole }

{ second row of pins fit in between the first row }

{ thumbs are getting sore at this point }

{ ta-dah! }

* Sorry for the crappy quality pictures.
My camera died and I was forced to use my iPhone
